Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
Wow, I hope that Disney offers something to those who have encountered issues. Crossing fingers for you guys and sending some pixie dust.

Do any of you lovelies have any idea how I can kinda fix my Ursula's hair? She still looks GREAT! But a chunk of her hair is falling in the back and I want to tackle it before it gets worse!
My Ursula has the same problem, except it's one of the grey streaks on the side. I basically made it so it's being held up by another piece of hair.

What did you do to your Ariel's hair? It looks much better.

I finally got my Ariel! She was delivered to my work this arvo. I think I may have scared the delivery lady with my enthusiasm haha. But I'll see her again tomorrow for Ursula & Eric!
Ariel is almost perfect. Her box is not damaged (the plastic bit is a bit Yucky at the top), but she has a couple of marks on her skin. I just had to pick a bit off her side. It's like... How to put it... something sharp (like a knife) has sliced down her side and the plastic has come off in a slither. It sounds bad, but it's so not bad. I can see it because I picked the slither off, but no one else would. She has 2 of those marks, but I'm not going to make a fuss, I'm not tooooo bothered because it doesn't really stand out unless you look for it. She's imperfect but so am I haha. She's number 3399- pretty cool number I think.

thank you!

For Ariel's hair:

I sprayed some cold water on the ends of it due to some advice from a friend. :D The gel is definitely still in there, but it helped loosen it a bit. :)

Im excited for the frozen dolls! I really hope Elsa is in her blue dress!! :x: Imagine the crystals! *shudders* gorgeous!

Im sure Anna will be gorgeous too! I hope she's in all her snow gear!

How did you fix Ariel's hair? I'm a deboxer, and struggling with her hairsprayed hair... Did you just pull it out with your fingers? I'm soooo scared to do that!

My Ariel and Eric arrived in perfect condition! But Ursula's shipping box was banged up and so was her outer display box. Disney store is "seeing what they can do". Ugh

It looks soooo good! I really want to try this, but I'm too scared to do it. I'm really worried that it wil frizz badly or just won't look good.. Decisions, decisions..

I ended up taking the glue out of my Ariel's hair completely. She lost some of the high density curl but I can't stand all that glue in dolls hair :/.

I really hate the glue/gel too.. It look so fake. I already took out a bit with some water, but it doesn't look half as good disneygirl's Ariel. And it frizzes a little.. I'm really not sure if I should go on with taking more glue out of it, or just let it be the way it is now. I'm worried I will ruin it completely

I highly suggest everyone leaves the doll's hair as is. Removing the gel can destroy the fibers of the hair if not done carefully and correctly! It is designed to last that way. Of course, anyone can do as they please! I just am concerned for those who want to keep the full waves :)

Which, I guess is why these are adult collectors items. Lol, they don't expect us to want to comb their hair or even rearrange it. So much gel! If I were a kid I would be horrified! I used to comb out all my dolls curls because I liked it straight better. Actually, as an adult the gel is still a bit horrifying even if the effect is beautiful.

Wellllll, I think if people want to alter the hair, that is just fine as long as they approach with caution! For 'first-timers' it's best to google loads of info about gel/glue removal (theres a looot monster high dolls guides on this, they have very hard gluey hair styles) for example sometimes shampoo can be too harsh and cause frizz, and watch the heat of the water because plastic hair changes and holds shape (like running it under hot water may cause it to completely straighten out) and stuff like that

Yeah, I didn't want to get rid of the gel completely because I want the waves so I just sprayed a bit of water on the ends where I wanted the hair softened. The top is still hard. It looks full and beautiful! I'm a deboxer, and as some of you may have seen, I took her out of the box and changed her outfit once already. I love the flexibility of her hair. :)

I wouldn't dare touch Ariel's hair. I'd mess it up.

However, I did debox last year's Cinderella Classic Doll and put blush/bronzer on her hair. I wanted it to look closer to the actual movie color. Then I put her in the cleaning outfit from accessories pack. I plan to glue the mice onto the cardboard backing. Then I will rebox and give to my mom for her birthday. She loves Cinderella, but I knew she wouldn't take her out of box to put her in other dresses. I plan to buy one more cheap Cinderella and put her in the pink dress from last year's accessories pack. Then she will have three Cinderellas, plus the special Animator Cinderella that came out last year. She will never know the diffrence. In fact, last year's blue Cinderella has picture on back of the accessories pack. She will think Cinderella came dressed that way.

I actually love all the glue in these dolls' hair. As a collector, I like knowing it can't get messed up. I guess the downside is you have to make sure you get a doll with a nice style. I've seen some Ariels with really flat hair whereas some have a lot of volume. Maybe you can fluff it up a bit without removing her?

SHE HAS ARIVED!!!! :D Oh my God I am so happy!!!! UPS person just kinda silently creepered it by my door. If it weren't for my dogs freaking out, I'd still be taking my nap. ;)
But I got her in and saw no visible distress to the shipping box. First sigh of relief. I placed it on my counter, openness both ends so I could have her stationary and move the box. I kept the tissue paper on so that I could give myself a big reveal, and...OH...MY...GOD!!! SHE IS GORGEOUS!!!! I figured she would be big, but I had no idea she would be *this big*. I haven't reorganized my villains display, but I think she is PERFECTLY proportioned, especially along side them. And the detailing and the design. She is perfect and I couldn't be happier. While I would have preferred long tentacles and not the tulle (I thought I was going to hate it), it just blends so nicely. It looks like it is all natural and not a separate combo of different elements.) And, what is really weird, she did have the little ?grease? marks on her plastic window. But...the weird part is that they look like tentacle suction cup markings because they are little circles the size of her sequins. So...it's like an adetive to me. ;D
So, this is me, so happy to finally have my drag queen of the sea, Ursula! :D

I just love your colorful post. Thanks for sharing!!! Mine comes tomorrow or friday!

I'm so glad that you love her, TinkerTigg! :) I am hoping that she will blow me away when I receive her tomorrow (hopefully). In the meantime, LE Prince Eric is supposed to arrive today for me! :p

Not sure if any of you are bothered by the grease marks or glue remnants, but I use just a tad (again - just a tad!!!) of Goo Gone on a soft cloth to get rid of them. I make sure to avoid the printed design on the inside of the plastic screen. I then wiped over the plastic screen with a damp soft cloth. Perfect! Just thought I might share, as I have been cleaning the plastic screens like this for years. :o) Ursula had quite a bit of the grease marks and glue remnants all over her plastic screen. I am glad to hear everyone is getting there dolls! Ready for next week??? I am so excited!!! Fingers crossed we all get Ariel and Eric!!!

I had the same issue with my Ariel doll, I just used a dry paper towel and placed it on a flat surface and just wiped it away. It seems to have worked.

I got Ursula today as well! But sadly, her packaging was all dented up and the clear cover is cracked completely on the side.:( Aside from that, this is the Ursula I always wanted to have back in the day and I'm glad I can finally see her "DIVINE" nature in person. When I got home, I called the Disney Store and they said they'll be sending me a new doll! :) (She was #306)
