Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
It might just depend on who you talked too, sometimes the managers will tell the other CM's not to say anything yet. I've noticed I never get a good answer over the phone. That's why I always go down to my DS (it also helps that it is literally up the street from me and takes like 5 minutes to get there). The managers know me very well now.....

It would be very strange if either LE Elsa or LE Anna are released before the film has seen its theatrical debut. Most LE dolls are of course linked to a Diamond Edition or at least their blu-ray release. LE Wedding Rapunzel's official release date (not her pre-order date) was after the "Tangled Ever After" short aired on the Disney Channel, and a couple of months after it had its theatrical debut with the 3D Beauty and the Beast theater release. LE Merida was released on the film's official theatrical opening day, as was LE Sgt. Calhoun. If the overseas market starts actually selling them (not pre-order) on November 4th, that would be a very strange thing indeed!

correct me if I am wrong here but didn't Sgt Calhoun come out before the movie was released? As I remember people specifically asking if she was a good or bad guy in the movie when they were to deciding if they were going to buy her or not? Also China Doll came out several weeks before the movie did (I think it was in Late Feb early March) and the movie wasn't released till end of march?

also I think this is why it will be a preorder first which makes more sense because you will be able to buy them now but they will not be released until the same week or a week earlier than the movie release. I dunno I was also under the impression that the dolls were released around the time the movie was released. It was corrected so many times that I have been forever reminded that that is not always the case. But I could be completely wrong as I am working off my memory here and dates generally do by retain well in my head haha.

China was out in February and sold out long before the movie came out. I remember she popped back onto the site for a couple of days right around movie release time, but she was definitely out weeks before the movie. I was hoping for this weekend, but I'll gladly take November 4th over the end of the month. Once Christmas gets closer, my spending money has to go towards Christmas gifts, food, parties, and decorations. Please don't wait Disney!

For LE Sgt. Calhoun, she was released on November 2, 2012, which is the same date as the national release date of Wreck-It Ralph. So she and LE Merida are the common-thread for new dolls released with a film's national release date. LE Wedding Rapunzel was following the Disney Channel national release of "Tangled Ever After," as opposed to its theatrical debut with 3-D Beauty and the Beast.

LE China Girl was definitely released before any theatrical release of Oz the Great and Powerful, so I suppose that she breaks the general trends for sure along with LE Alice and the LE Queen of Hearts. For LE Alice and the LE Queen of Hearts, the 1951 Alice in Wonderland had already seen two recent prior home-media releases within a year of each other ("Unbirthday DVD" on March 30, 2010 and then "60th Anniversary" blu-ray on February 1, 2011), and then the dolls randomly showed up online on August 22, 2011 with Designer Cinderella. Keep in mind that release of LE Alice and the LE Queen of Hearts has nothing to do with any Alice in Wonderland theatrical or home-media release (1951 version or 2010 film).

When all is said and done, I guess anything goes! In any case, it seems that in general with the LE sizes being what they are that few retail stores in the USA will be carrying them. I wonder now if the Disney Store will just release them early in the hopes that they won't go to as many resellers if hype for the film has not built up too much yet?

I think it may be that one is available to buy, and the other is a pre-order. That is what I was told a few months ago but that was a few months ago, so take it with a grain of salt. If this speculation is correct I would assume that Elsa would be the pre-order, and Anna is the "surprise release" take home doll. Because Elsa is on the floor display, which they usually do only for pre-orders (that I have seen). All assumption. I think that we at least will see one of them on November 4th, and then the other maybe in the next couple weeks; at least on or before the film's release date.

I very highly doubt that Disney will wait until the movie release, as most of you have mentioned the movie is being released over Thanksgiving. Now I dont live in America so dont know your holidays but I always thought that Thanksgiving was a pretty big deal there with the Black Friday sales being on around that time as well? Which means that it is highly doubtful that Disney will want to deal with a doll release and the black Friday sales at the same time. The warehouse already had a melt down during the shipping of Eric and Ursula so can you imagine what will happen if they were to do the two LEs plus the sales from Black Friday all at the same time? There is bound to be utter chaos and shipments getting lost then. There is also an advance screening of the movie which I got an invite to but obviously will not be able to go which I am shattered about because that means I wont get to see this movie until after Christmas when it is released here in Aus. :(

I dunno I have just heard way too much about preorders, when the dolls were originally announced here on the forum we were told they would be preorders and I believe that would be the case. I do have a strong feeling that the dolls will be preorder and then released at a later date just like Elinor and Merida were last year. I wouldnt run it by Disney to sell the merch earlier than the movie to help build the hype. I mean we already have had one lot of merchandise released several weeks ago and now we are expecting the second this Monday it is just a matter of when the LEs are going to be released i.e the same time as the second lot of Frozen merch release or just on their own as special releases?

That being said Disney has really done a great job at keeping these dolls a secret and the information limited.

this is the exact scenario I have had in my head, I was just hoping that Oct 28th would be the day

Next week will probably feel like forever waiting for Nov. 4. Thankfully I don't have school that day so I can wake up at three and go to the store. I don't want to take any chances because I can already tell I'm going to love the movie. The number 2500 worries me.

I'm nervous for any kind release during thanksgiving week..it's always a horror trying to go through the stores..lol! (thank goodness for the ability for online shopping now! lol)

I hope you're right, Alex! I want the Anna doll but I gotta save some more... if she's released in the next week I won't be able to get her. v.v

I think we can pretty much assume that the dolls are not going to be released this week but on Nov 4 instead as we still havent heard anything about them at all. Yes they are surprise releases but even with surprise releases Disney posts something on the Disney Store blog and the Disney Stores would have received the display dolls by now if they were to sell it on Monday however that has not been the case. Therefore we can pretty much guarantee that Oct 28 is out as a release date for the dolls. Yes we may be getting some Frozen merchandise on Monday but I dont think the dolls will be one of them.

That being said if the French Disney Store Manager said that the doll was going to be released on Nov 4 (as per the facebook post) then that means that Elsa will not be a preorder as France does not do preorders. They only sell the dolls when they are available. Which means that either Anna will also be released on the 4th as a preorder as well but for a later release or both dolls will be released on Nov 4 with no preorder at all. I just find it odd because as ElysionsPrincess has mentioned these dolls have display dolls which generally usually means that they will have preorders. i.e a display will need to be made to advertise the doll for a later release. Whereas dolls released straight away for sale does not need advertisement as people are able to just buy the ones off the shelf.

So at least this provides us with some sort of confirmation.

But anyone else notice that the leaked image is only of Elsa? So where is the Anna doll? The fact that there has been no info about Anna to date must mean that either her doll will be released much later or could possibly truly be a surprise release i.e we will hear an announcement about Elsa and her release date but no one will know of Anna until the day of release. Again all this information but no facts yet so it makes it hard to determine what will happen. Either way looks like we will all be staying up on Nov 4!

I'm not sure Polaris...because my store got display dolls for Eric and Ursula.....so I find that odd. But who knows may be they are making displays for these dolls because they are new characters......who knows with Disney.

I will probably stay up both Oct 28 and Nov 4. Not really because I think the LE Dolls will be out on Oct 28 because I can't wait to see what other merchandise they have!!! I'm becoming very obsessive with this movie!!

People on this forum are usually spot on about releases, so if most say it's the 4th, then that's what I'll plan for. I am also staying up on the 28th to check out the new stuff. I figure it's better to lose some sleep than to miss out on something great. At the very least I can scroll through the new Frozen merchandise.

Perhaps they are display dolls because Disney Store doesn't think they will be a quick sell out because the public is not acquainted with these characters yet. I think that will be the case.

the French CM did not have a date yet for the LE. They appear on the list but they do not know when they will receive their dolls. On after the CM should rather expect out November 27 and don'ts if its not release dates by Disney.

Has anyone else seen this doll?

She's so beautiful! Dx

This OOAK wedding gown is amazing! :) But, yes, you can tell that it is an OOAK project by the fact that the doll is still paired with the LE Ariel's original box and also the construction with the seafoam green trim on her gown, but I really applaud whoever made this gown. Sleeves are tough to work, and satin is a monster of a fabric to manage. This is a real treasure!

I almost had a heart-attack scrolling down and seeing that Ariel and thinking there was yet another for me to buy or that I potentially missed her... glad to see that is an OOAK doll! Whew! :P It is done really well!!!

The Disney Dolls Facebook just posted this image of the LE 17" Elsa. Sorry for the poor quality. They said they would post a better picture soon. Stunning!
