Frozen Disney Store Merchandise, What are you looking forward to? (Contains Spoilers)
Do you guys think they always had the intention of the new 5000 LE or were they waiting to see how the first set sold and with the movie being released.

I think no because otherwise they might've released each pair to go with each other instead of doing coronation Anna with ice dress Elsa. Obviously I base that on nothing more than my opinion, but when the first pair came out I thought it made sense that they went with those two looks as the LE dolls since snow dress Anna isn't very glamorous. I like how she ended up looking, but it's a bit of a stretch putting all that glitz on an outfit that was meant to protect her from the elements.

It's unfortunate that Elsa's iconic look from the movie has half as many dolls produced as her 10-minute look. But I guess it's cool for those of us that managed to get her? I'm glad more people will be able to get their hands on LE Anna and Elsa dolls, but I'm still surprised they're releasing doubles of characters from the same movie. It's a first, which to me goes to show how well the merch is selling.

Wow, that was a long-winded response!

this made me laugh cause of the pun hehehe

Just wanted to interrupt the excitement and say I love your new avatar, Quasimodo! Very cute, and it fits perfectly.

Oh boy, I knew it was just my luck that the images would be released when I was in the middle of the theater rewatching the Hobbit lol. Longest movie to sit in as well xD They are really nice dolls, much nicer than I anticipated. But something about them, I dunno, I'm just not in love with them right now. Maybe it's because I have my Elsa in her ice dress sitting next to me on my desk, I dunno. Glad it's a preorder though and I still have a week to decide. Think for sure I will pass on the coronation Elsa though

I found it on Google and fell in love with it so much I had to steal it. If the original designer / creator stumbles across this, I only hope they know I made it my avatar because it's so amazing. They're two of my favorite things jumbled into one cute picture... plus I have no skills for making something like that myself.

Oh gawd, they're so cute! I actually like this Elsa doll better because I like her makeup more than the Snow Elsa's -- I think she looks sweeter with lighter lipstick and less eye makeup. Of course I love Elsa's snow gown but that coronation dress looks truly regal and I love the cape!! I wish they did her hair more like it is in the movie, but still---I really would love to have that doll! The Anna one is really pretty too - I love the bling they added to her outfit haha.

Hum .. they usually do a villain with the DVD release, as a surprise. I wonder if they still have plans to do a "surprise" doll? Maybe it'll be Kristoff? GAH, THAT WOULD BE AWESOME. This is going to end up being the most LE dolls released for one movie. Actually .. I think it already is.

That is true they do usually do a villain release for princess movies with the first being Gothel who was released as a surprise release when the bluray was released. However since there is no clear female villain (as Disney has never done a male villain LE before) I would say if they were to do a surprise release during the bluray then it would more than likely be Kristoff. But Disney has already released 4 dolls relating to the same movie which is the most they have ever done for just one movie. That being said though, they do love taking advantage of the Frozen hype and even did Kristoff as the first male animator doll (excluding the London ISAW doll which I believe was a boy??) so we could definitely still see another coming out.

Wait next week?
The Disney Store blog website actually tells people in the Euro market to check their respective DS facebook pages for more details on the release. It actually states on the website that the preorder is only in North America so I think that based on historical released the UK market can assume it will be coming out on release date of the assumed March 18 when the bluray is released.

Anyone else think that they will be releasing the Kristoff Animator at the same time? As it still has not come out online...

Not all of the 4500 will be online. Stores will also do pre-orders, so they should get an allocation...maybe double what they got for the first set?

Oh, whoops! I forgot to mention that the pre-orders are spread out between both the retail stores and the DS.com website, with probably more of the stock available online--but at what ratio is anyone's guess. Thanks for helping me clarify that, Steve! :)

Thanks Shiva, I couldn't quite remember if they sold the whole allocation at the time or kept a set amount back to sell in March when the rest of Europe put the dolls on sale. Do you guys think they always had the intention of the new 5000 LE or were they waiting to see how the first set sold and with the movie being released.

Yes, sadly the North American DS never does seem to hold back LE doll stock for additional sales opportunities on the actual release day, so if one misses the pre-order, they are pretty much out of luck to get them direct from the Disney Store (as with all of the sold-out LE doll pre-orders). The exceptions are of course if some orders do not process through (declined credit card, mostly), but even then, they would probably reopen the pre-sale online if that happened prior to the release date.

Disney's Frozen has been warming hearts everywhere this holiday season! And now, we are excited to introduce two new Limited Edition dolls to add to your collection. In their winter attire Anna and Elsa are ready for an adventure.

There will be a global edition size of 5000 per doll with 500 of each available in Europe. Anna and Elsa will be £60 each. They will be available in selected stores (to be advised) and online with a limit of 1 per guest, 1 per household. The release date is still to be confirmed but will be in line with the North American release date. There are no current plans for pre-ordering in Europe. More details regarding this release to follow.

Uk disney store said this! So some are going to be available in stores....which means even less then 500 online for the entirity of europe :(

To be honest I think the UK should be ok, I know that 500 is a low amount but the last dolls were online for quite some time and they had 1000 allocated to the UK market then. Id hate to say it but whilst the UK market has grown it still is not as big as the US market and this was made evident by the slow sales on release (which might have been slowed moreso due to their unexpected price increase of 20 pounds) I think they will sell out for sure but I think it wont be as bad as the US market in terms of sell out times. So as usual just make sure you are online at the time of release so that you are ready to buy the dolls and dont psych yourself out and you should be fine. The more you psych yourself out the more stressed out you will be about these dolls and the less clearer your head will be during the release and that could result in you stuffing up your order.

The great thing about the UK is that most people that buy these dolls there are collectors and not resellers therefore you dont have to compete with people buying more than one doll.

Guyssssss, don't get me wrong but everyone should stop freaking out and relax- these dolls are BEAUTIFUL and i'm sure now everyone has a fair chance at buying them! :) As for us UK/EUers, I'm lucky I can go to the store and get mine, but 500 will honestly be fine for everyone who wants them and is prepared to get them on release day, which everyone thinks will most likely be in March :)

Dolls don't sell out as fast as pins in my opinion, resellers can drop £9 on a pin in an instant, but investing potential £120 per set can be a lot I'm guessing- please stop worrying and be excited! :) Europe couldn't handle the 1000 of each character, I think 500 will be fine- my local store got 25 of each doll (!!!) and they only just sold out last week (Anna was left of course, but Elsa was only sold out since around the 15th Dec...)

I know Elsa took a little bit to sell out and Anna was still for sale on DS.co.uk for a while- sure the movie is out now and these are nicer than the previous set (in my opinion), but for the UK I think 500 of each should last long enough for us to put them in our carts and check out

just my humble opinion <3

+1

Oh my gosh guys I'm so excited for these dolls LOL <3 <3

I love them of course, they are beautifully done. I hope they are easy for everyone to get with the higher edition number.

My only complaint is that the coronation dolls and signature dolls can't face each other when set together. Hopefully when I get the new set, I want to put Coronation Elsa with Anna, and Signature Anna with Elsa, but when I do they both be looking to the left together or the right. :p

It's not just the UK market, it's the whole of EUROPE :( it's not enough.

Sorry I interchange UK with Euro market because the UK is the biggest market in the Euro market, just like I do with the US store even though they generally cater to Canada and the rest of the world as well.

Dont forget the last release they issued 1000 to the Euro market and even that did not sell out fast enough to warrant the increase in stock distributed to the Euro market. Dont get me wrong there is definitely a market in the UK and Europe but that is the thing the online store only caters to the Euro market. The US store caters to the rest of the world including the Euro market, so excluding the taxes and shipping (because I have to always cop this regardless of which store I order from as my country doesnt even have a store so I dont have sympathy for that sort of stuff) the Euro market technically is in the most comfortable position as they have access to the most in terms of stock numbers (as they wouldnt have access to the full 5000 since some stock is allocated to stores). So if you are really paranoid about your release then you can try buy it from the US next week but as PrincessxJasmine89 stated I really think that the UK market will be fine, if you think about all the past doll releases everyone in the UK/Euro market seemed to have been able to get their dolls without too many issues (if not any at all) so really just calm down and think about it because at the end of the day you will be fine. Just dont psych yourselves out as it wont do you any good.

I think I'm in the minority here when I say the coronation Elsa doll is much more appealing than her snow doll. The teal dress, the purple cape; I can't stop gawking at the gorgeous colors. Even though it does not fit movie wise, she goes very well with Anna's navy blue and burgundy snow gear.

Ugh!!! I'm currently out of town until the 11th!!! I will just go to the store to purchase them here and a family member can pick the up for me. I would rely on ordering them online.......BUT!!! After having one of the extra dolls that I ordered, come damaged, I prefer in store pick up.

I have my offers crossed for a LE Kristoff!!!! He would look amazing!! I'm still on the hunt for the animators collection version of him

I'm with you there! She is absolutely stunning and though my opinion may change after seeing them in person, right now, coronation Elsa is my favorite of the four! :)
