same here.
i still haven't managed to sit through demi's version on "let it go".
i honestly don't know why disney spends money for "pop" versions of their song, i mean, do they *actually* need the extra marketing?

I agree- I really don't care for demi's version at all. It was pretty funny when the end credits came on in the theater, and with the straightest face my 5 year old niece looked at me and said, "Who is that singing? That's not Elsa." So pop versions aren't a hit with some children either

ahaha! that made me laugh!
disney really did a good job with the casting for frozen though, anna sounds so sweet and something about idina's voice is just captivating.

Oddly, they didn't do a pop version of I See The Light, but then Mandy could have done that with another male singer too?

Okay, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought there was a pop version of this song limited to the UK release or something, done by some Disney Channel actress. I could be totally off the mark here but I know I've heard it, and I thought I read somewhere that it played in the end credits of the movie in another country. Okay, I know that sounds crazy in retrospect. Let me see if I can find it.

Yes, yes, here it is...

Kind of off-topic but right before the Frozen soundtrack was released I listened to the Spanish poppy version of "Love is an Open Door" by this young male singer and it was really catchy. I mean, obviously, it's the same tune but I even liked the faster, pop sound to it.

While I would prefer to see Aurora in blue, I agree that as long as they capture her face and gorgeous blonde hair right, I will be happy :) I will be happy either way, Aurora is one of my favorites ♥

I agree!! I really think both Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel did a great job with matching their voices with the characters ^.^

And captivating is the perfect way to describe Idina's "let it go". She captured the emotions and lyrics of that song so perfectly, and I think it's a big reason I just can't sit through Demi's rendition without wincing.

And... while I'll never get a chance at the LE Elsa winter doll, I'm glad I have the singing doll as a consolation piece and it's nice that she sings part of my now favorite disney song (my poor attempt at making my post on topic =D)

I am so glad that they did not make a pop version of "I See the Light." It keeps the song pure and unadulterated. For me the pop versions of the songs are never as good as the in-film character versions of the songs.

I agree, although I did like Beauty & the Beast, A Whole New World, and Colors of the Wind by their respective pop artists.

and UGH, so glad they didn't release the pop version of "I See the Light" here (or at least it wasn't popular). She sounds like Mandy Moore trying to be Rapunzel. LOL.

I like almost all of the pop versions of Disney songs including Demi's version of Let it Go (but I'm also a big Demi fan so I'm biased) but even I think the I See the Light pop version is just... not good...

I don't have an LE Aurora doll yet, so I am particularly looking forward to a new one!! Also would LOVE to see her in PINK!! Maleficent should also be an AMAZINGLY beautiful doll!! Can't wait =)

I'm definitely a Team Pink fan. I grew up with Pink Aurora - Disney definitely brainwashed me with their marketing, despite her being predominantly blue in the film (I also just don't like blue in general).
As for pop Disney songs- hate them. I have a Disney cd that when it's a different version of the song (not sung like the movie) I just skip it lol

I actually don't care what colour Aurora wears...actually that's a lie, I would rather her in Pink, because like others have said, there is a serious lack of pink in the collection at the moment, and a lot of blue when there shouldn't be (yah I'm looking at you Cinderella). All I really care about is that they get the hue of her hair right although I don't think that's going to happen. Her hair is much more ashy then the colour they market her with. But looking at Cinderella (who they didn't give the proper blonde to), I don't think it'll happen :(, but here's hoping that it does!

And random thought, I always wished that for Jasmine they would do something really different. There's a piece of art somewhere out there Peacock feathers integrated in her design and it's probably my favourite piece of Jasmine art. I might be reprimanded here for hoping they interpret her clothing a little different, but I think it would so nice if they did.

not sure if this is answered somewhere else but I have the doll set from the DFDC and my boyfriend and I finally moved out together so I can put them out to display but not sure what display case to use..does anyone have any good ideas or places to go to get one..i'm looking for a reasonable priced one. anything helps :)

I recommend shelves from Ikea if there is one around you. The Billy bookcase is perfect and is one that I use. It will fit four designers in a row and you could probably have about 3, maybe four rows with the shelf, depending on how you set the shelf up.

I just wanted to thank everyone who gave me advice and encouragement about tracking down a Coronation Elsa doll.

By some miracle, I am getting one! I found a store about 5 hours from me that had exactly one left to pre-order. It's a long story, but a relative was finally able to pre-order it for me as a birthday gift. So I am very, very excited. And relieved.

I still want to attempt to add Snow Queen Elsa to my collection at some point, but I'll have to see about prices and such. That kind of money all at once is not easy for me to come by.

Congrats on getting her preordered!!!!

We got the display Elsa in today, oddly enough after the dolls sold out and after the pre-sale. But she is GORGEOUS! The fine detailing is amazing. Cannot wait until March.

Thank you all. It was really nice to feel like something in life was going right, however ultimately inconsequential it is in the scheme of things.

Congrats on getting your Elsa!

I'm in the same boat with Snow Queen Elsa. I have my pre-order for Coronation Elsa all set, and I'm super excited to get her. But I still want to add Snow Queen Elsa to my collection to go with Coronation Elsa. I've seen the prices on eBay recently, and they're scary high numbers. It looks like Snow Queen Elsa is quickly going to be my grail doll, and I'm going to have to wait a long time before I feel comfortable spending a lot of money to get her.

So glad that was not released here, I do not like that version of "I see the light" at all.
I agree! I was listen to that and think " wow now I feel whole lot better on Demi's let it go!". I usually dislike the pop version, especially both of the pop " part of your world" by Miley and Carly ray Jepson, oh mine as much as I love little mermaid.... I just can't stand these two! Kiss the girl pop version was okay though

okay, cool! I'm not sure how I'm going to set it up yet since I wanted to get ideas on shelving first haha.

i'm super OCD about lines and shelve space. LOL
