Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
I said that if something were to ever happen to me he could sell the dolls to help him out financially if need be but he said he wouldnt do that because he knows how important they are to me so couldnt bring himself to sell them which I thought was really sweet. But knock on wood nothing happens and we wont ever have to cross that bridge.

LOL... I told my bf the same thing. But I also told him that he had better do the research and sell them for the going rate! These dolls are not your run-of-the-mill garage sale $1 bargain items!

LOL I was tempted to do a photo book with the current market value of each doll. But thought that might be a tad excessive haha

LOL
My husband is the one paying for my dolls, so do I feel confident that he'll try to get the highest possible profit back on them if he were to sell them.

That is sweet. :). I want my husband's continuing goodwill with my dolls, which take up so much space in the house, so this past Christmas, I bought him his first Hot Toy--an Iron Man. Muhaha

You know, I have this ongoing fantasy that I stumble across a yard sale (and I don't even go to yard sales), and the collector of LE Disney Dolls has passed on (may this imaginary person RIP). The family does not know what it has. I ogle some regular dolls. A lady asks, "Oh, are you interested in dolls? We have larger ones in the house. They were just too large to bring outdoors." I follow her into the house and there are 17" Snow White, Belle, Tiana, Alice, Rapunzel, etc. I demure that they are lovely but so large. I wouldn't know where to put them. I ask for a price. She says, "Would $50 a doll be too much?" LOL. Seriously, this daydream makes me happy. It will never ever happen, of course.

My husband also jokes about selling my LE dolls. Especially Elsa.
Like when I say I can't wait to see my dolls (which are stored in Japan) he says he'll sell them in the meantime.
When we bought the November set on a Japanese auction a few days ago for a lot less than what they're asking for on ebay (we got both girls for the price of one Elsa), my husband keeps joking with that he'll sell Elsa, because then it's like Anna was a freebie.
Haha. Mean husbands and BFs threatening our collections. ;). It is almost like Elsa has validated my collection. Yeah, my other dolls are nice, but he now realizes that if something bad happened, I didn't throw my money away. I could at least sell most of my dolls for at least retail, if not more.

Oh oh my god how amazing would that be to stumble across that! Be so good. U never know it could happen! But think u should start going to yard sales tho.

My opinion is that too many scalpers bought her and Eric and then flooded the market. I think when collectors get their hands on dolls over sharks, they're more coveted (not as many on eBay, so everyone rushes to get their hands on that rare auction).

I'd imagine Disney learned advertising their "surprise" release to such an extent put the dolls under too many scalpers' radar. Sure, the dolls sold out in minutes, but they don't look very popular when they don't even sell for retail on the second hand market. Even though as collectors we think Disney wouldn't want their dolls to sell for crazy amounts when resold, they do. It means they're producing a highly collectible product. Eric and Ursula aren't collectible at all (for now).

PS--she's really well done, but there are certain issues with her. She's a bit stiff-looking compared to the princesses. They could've molded her arms into a more dynamic pose instead of blowing up the classic doll to a bigger scale. As much as I love her, she's not my favorite. I actually prefer Eric most out of the TLM LE dolls. Yeah, he looks a little gigantic in his box, but his details are amazing.

I'd say they'll be staying around retail for at least a few more months. Just a guess of course. There's no way to know until it changes.

It would take the deluge of dolls on eBay drying up for that to change, though, lol.

I don't have an LE Aurora doll yet, so I am particularly looking forward to a new one!! Also would LOVE to see her in PINK!! Maleficent should also be an AMAZINGLY beautiful doll!! Can't wait =)
Me too. I only have the classic DS Aurora right now. I dont really care what outfit she is in I just need her. LOL

I buy my own dolls, but my husband and I joke around about his selling my dolls (especially with SQ Elsa selling so high). I told him if I die, feel free to put them on eBay. I won't need them anymore. Maybe your dad is just messing with you like my husband does me? Haha On the other hand, maybe Elsa should be locked in your closet when you are at school. ;)

I told my DH the same thing, between Vinyls, Pins and Dolls Im sitting on a lot of money. I said to make sure they get sold at the going rates on ebay. They are NOT to be handed down to kids to play with or sold at a yard sale for a buck or two. haha

Which of these dolls share the same facial sculpt? I was wondering because Cinderella's open smile looks exactly the same as Ariel's. Do any share the same sculpt? I'm guessing when theirs two of the same character they will though.

I am with you! My hubby knows how much I've spent so he needs to do research for prices to sell for (while he is grieving of course...lol)

Of the LE dolls, both Snow and Alice share the same facial sculpt, but just colored differently. But its the same face.

FYI just saw someone on facebook score LE Snow White for $130 in that garage sale scenerio described earlier :) Trying not to die of jealously as she's totally my grail doll!

For real? 17" Snow White for $130?!? I was the one who posted about my yard sale fantasy. So jealous.

Yeah, in my area, I highly doubt I would stumble across any Disney dolls. Boondock USA where I live. More likely to find singing fish on a board, mounted deer heads, VA TECH merchandise, etc.

Glad for the person who scored a great deal. Sort of feel for the seller, but, honestly, you have to research before you sell collectibles and other items.

Found these on Flickr. :)

Oh wow she's even more beautiful than in her stock photos! Does it bother anyone else that the hair color they chose to use for her dolls photographs too yellow looking? Like in person it's a little to yellow but especially in photos. The shade or brand they used for toddler Elsa does look a little more like animated Elsa though and I wish they used it for the other dolls.

Gorgeous doll! I can't wait to get her.
I love that her face has a different look than the snow queen doll. Thanx for sharing the pictures.

I think she's stunning but not in the same league as Sq Elsa but I dislike the coronation look in the film whereas the snow queen outfit is one of my favourites from any disney movie.

Also her hair looks yellow compared with the first Elsa who has platinum, this new ones looks yellow like Cinderella's but I think it's just the camera ?
