Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
Ugh, that's why I hate ebay. My SQ Elsa arrived with a couple of rhinestones visibly missing in the front bodice (you could see the glue outline where one had been), which was not apparent in the photos and not made explicit anywhere in the listing. By the time she arrived Nov Elsa had shot up another $200 so I decided to live with it. Since I am not planning on reselling her I might try to replace the missing rhinestones if I ever get up the nerve.

Nothing much you can do about severe box damage though. Since the item was not as described (since it was described as new and undamaged) you could always open a case with ebay if you think it is worth the hassle. Sorry that happened to you. It's always nerve-wracking waiting for a doll from ebay because you never know what condition it will come in.

Thats really sad about your elsa. damage to the actual doll is much worse than box damage imo. I hope you can fix the missing stones. it shouldnt be too hard to do but finding similar stones maybe. When ever ive listed im always so careful to list absolutely every thing possible. I think sometimes sellers are betting on buyers not noticing flaws..

Speaking of ebay. I had just recived my 17" limited Belle doll and the left side of the box had damage. Now I can ignore some damage but this was just a bit too much. The seller knowingly sent her like that! he didn't list the damage in the auction nor pictured it and was completely unapologetic about it and was really quite rude. But how was I to know of the damage if he lists it as new and undamaged? *Sigh.................. and so begins the ordeal. Im not quite sure how to handle it but he knowingly sold it like that and then admits it.

Can we get a picture of it?

The flash drowned out all of the creases and bents, the scuffs are more apparent and appear on the top. left, and right sides of the plastic. The whole left side was about pushed in and then reshaped again all the bents are out of focus. Ive put heavy books on top of the bent and folded parts to try to get them back into a flat surface. youcan se some of the creases and "cracks" in the photo. its alot better than what it was. It may not look like much now but it was enough to notice and complain about.

In retrospect I probably should have taken pictures as it came huh? lol

Yesterday I bid on eBay and the item was the LE Elsa doll Nov. ver, and I bid just a few minutes before it ended and no one had placed a bid on her, so I was lucky then, but guess what.

Ofc there had to be two more people that placed theirs bid in just a few seconds before it ended, and stupid thing was that theirs bid was for a much higher prize then it had to be. So I couldnt bid again.
(maybe because they wanted it so badly and lost an leg and arm for it)

I was so close to get this doll this time, I have been waiting for it since I missed the pre-order and now I had a change to get it for a good prize and with no customs duty.. Geez. )':
I hate those last minute bidding wars. Is so nerve wracking. I hope you get her eventually.

This is such a great thread! Thank you for all of the information. I am new here and new to collecting the limited edition Disney dolls. I only have two of them, but I have been collecting the Designer collection since it first came out. I missed the Limited Edition Anna and Elsa dolls in Nov and the Jan per-order ones as well. :(

I was wondering if anyone here has experience with purchasing from another country's Disney store. I have a friend in France who said I can buy the Anna & Elsa dolls online when they are released in March and ship them to her. I just wasn't sure if there would be a problem because my billing address would be US. Anyone have advice? I hope it's okay to ask this question in this thread. I've never been part of a forum, so I'm sorry if I am breaking any rules.

You should be able to get a partial refund. Keep working on them or open a case. Its a nightmare but you deserve some compensation for a bent up box like that. Hope you can smooth it out eventually (the situation not the box. LOL)

I bought my Elsa new-in-box from the Disney store directly and she was also missing two of the rectangle rhinetones with outlines :o
I bought from ebay a packet of clear GLASS (not acrylic) rectangle 0.5mm hot-fix rhinestones and they were an exact match for the largest rectangle rhInestones on Elsas dress (she has several different sizes) I believe they are basically the same ones used. Though they were hot-fix (iron - on) I had no intention of doing that of course and used a special rhinestone-to-fabric glue called gem-tac (do not use any other type of glue, it must be a special rhinestone-fabric glue) press hard to dress because if any edges are sticking up (like if you use a dab of glue in the centre of the stone, and don't cover the whole stone) then her braid may get caught on the corner edges and strands of hair get pulled free from her braid and uuuurggh

Sort-of related, I also found a exact match for the blue rhinestones on her sleeves and replicated the 'Harrod's set' look and also added ...a lot... more clear ones to her cape, like the Harrods set. THERE I ADMITTED IT I have finally confessed but she was still available for sale at the time from the uk dsiney store and not sky-rocketed in price but I don't regret it and ahhh *runs away* pls don't judge me.

So you are a creative one :) At least I think so. Once I get my hands on an Elsa doll I'll do something similar. I also want to make the tropical version of her Anne mentioned while she was trying to walk in waisthigh snow.

Thank you! I am kind of relieved to hear this. I may give it a go then trying to replace the missing stones on my Elsa. Since I had purchased her for eBay, I wasn't sure if it was damaged by the seller or if she came that way from the store. I know it's not uncommon for the dolls to have flaws straight from the Disney store. It makes me feel a little better knowing you got her straight from the store that way.

And thanks for the tips!

Okies tomorrow I will take photos!

 thanks for being positive about it everyone, I would not normally make modifications to a LE item but the temptation was so strong and I didn't try anything too outrageous and used matching materials. I was just gonna not ever mention about it on this forum, but maybe it's ok *slinks away* I do hope everyone who still really wants the LE Nov Elsa can get her eventually!

I look forward to seeing the photos too! I love seeing what people can do when they customize their dolls. I never could because im not that creative nor are my hands steady enough and I fear id mess them up some how.

I know it's hard to say 'everything will be OK' but ebay isn't allll bad. I bought my LE Snow off ebay, and knew shipping was supposed to cost $70+ but when I went to pay it only was $40. I messaged the seller telling him what was happening and offered to somehow pay more (despite me paying $650 for the doll already), but he admitted there was nothing he could do to change it, but I still got first class air mail to Aus. And no problems with my Tina either. So while I agree there's bad people out there, there's also good. Both of those listing said 'US only' but were willing to change when I mailed them.
Good luck to all who buy on the secondary market :-)

edited- my auto correct on my phone is silly!

Welp... I'm gonna feel terrible for writing this down but I am gonna do in white font. I don't want any cast members to get in trouble. :(

*I read on tumblr that apparently, there's a surprise doll release on March 18. I'm assuming it's Kristoff. *

I heard that as well. I wouldn't be surprised at all if it's true. The way Frozen merch is selling it would be silly of Disney not to release one.

LOL you do realise no matter what color font you use anyone will still be able to read this information....

Oh yes I was thinking that there would have to be a surprise doll. I really want kristoff and hans! I really want a hans! If they don't have a surprise doll they would be losing out on a lot of revenue. And as said with the popularity of the film I don't see how they couldn't have one.

Personally I would prefer Kristoff just because Hans would look similar to Prince Eric and we already have a doll of him.

Also Kristoff would be a completely different look/mould compared to all the current LE dolls out there.

Yes but id like to have the set of 4 of them. they would look very nice together i think. Also i wonder should they have a surprise doll if it will reflect the potential price increase.

Yes four would be nice but it may be excessive? As that will be 6 LE dolls based on one movie (7 if you count the Harrods set). So if they were to release one surprise only then personally I would prefer a Kristoff doll over Hans. That being said if they were to release both a Hans and Kristoff LE I would still get them both as I think they would be amazing but would think it excessive.

I'm so doubtful and even more so hopeful for Hans, but I think deep down we always knew Kristoff was coming. I'd get them both and not see it as excessive in the least lol--moar moar moarrrrrrr!

LOL yeah... I didn't know what I was thinking.

I don't think 6 is excessive. When you think about it, this movie is basically two movies together. 2 princesses, 2 princes. Compared to the usual 1 boy 1 girl.
Also, I could see them releasing 2 surprise dolls, Mermaid was going to have 2 surprise dolls. I can see Kristoff being 2000 and Hans being 1500.
