I am always torn about collecting my main character Jiminy when he appears with another character, like Pinocchio. I think in my opinion I value them less than when he is alone on the pin. I still will collect the pin but, I place a lower personal value and I would pay less for the pin. I guess I don't mind it as much if it is characters from Pinocchio but, when he is paired with say Stitch (PD30206) or Tink(PD93777) it does not appeal to me. I know PD30206 is very popular, I just don't know if it is because of Stitch or Jiminy or both.

What are your own opinions on this subject. Please keep it civil for all.

Thanks

I don't care much for cross over pins. If I am collecting a certain character, then I want that character alone. I collect Mickey Mouse and I don't even want him with Minnie Mouse. Don't get me wrong. Minnie is adorable but I like Mickey better.

If the Evil Queen is say with a group of all the villains I will take it as she is my main collection and besides it's a plus if someone else is with her :)

I collect stitch and figment and since theyre both trouble makers, usually pins of them with other characters are pretty cute. I love stitch with other characters. :)

I do the same thing... I love when my villains get together on a pin. But Maleficent on a same pin with Aurora? Oh no... yes they're both from the same movie but there's no way I'm going to cross-contaminate anything cute and princess-like with any of my villains. :D

Same thing goes for the Destinations pin with Ralph and Snow White... if you're going to be a WiR completest, I totally get why you'd want that pin but Snow White?? ...with Ralph??? That's just wrong.

As a Stitch collector, I absolutely love the 'Stitch Invasion' pins. I love when Stitch interacts with other characters. I also collect Winnie the Pooh pins, and I have to say I like the group pins the best, or a set of pins for each of the characters that match.

I'm the same exact way. I am an Alice in Wonderland collector and I know that the stitch with mad hatter is a popular pin, however I am not saying it is more devalued, I am just not going to spew all my money/ pins for it. You know what I mean?

I actually like some of the crossover characters. One of my favorite series has Stitch in other movies...DS or DA pins, I think.

For me it depends on the collection. For some, I want every pin associated with a certain character or movie, but with others I am more picky and only get what I like.

For me, I collect anything Aladdin/Little Mermaid related pins. Soo it's awesome either way that Aladdin is with Jasmine or he is just by himself. Or Ariel with flounder/Sebastian & I would love it equally if she was by herself. But then again, there a lot of pins of characters out there that are beautiful & flawless just by themselves. Plus I think it's a huge bonus if there was a cross over with other characters. Like the stitch invasion as mentioned above (I adore the stitch one as Genie & Aladdin looks so shocked lol!) & I especially love other characters dressing up as other different Disney characters. For example, Jessica rabbit & Tinkerbell dressing up as Jasmine in her iconic light blue outfit. Or one of my favorite pins that I own is Donald Duck dressed up as Prince Ali & he's sitting on the magic carpet. So again it all depends if you want to expand more to your collection or keep your favorite iconic solo characters [:

I collect Disneyland attraction pins and hate it when they stick somebody like Mickey or the gang on the pin. I won't collect those. If it makes sense like a Brer animal with Splash Mountain that is great, but if it is Chip/Dale on Space Mountain that is a no go for me.

It depends on the crossover. If it's something I love with something I don't love all that much, then yeah. I'm not as interested. But when the stars align and its two things I love together such as the Haunted Mansion hitchhikers taking a spin in Alice's teacups, then I pretty much have an instant favorite.

But those are few and far between. :(

I generally don't mind them if they make sense. For example, I like the Stitch pins with the princesses. It fits the original movie promos of Lilo & Stitch and such. But aside from Stitch, I don't really "love" any other crossover pins. Just a general feeling though, because I collect the pins I like. And sometimes I will bump into a crossover pin I like (like the Rapunzel & Cinderella Pin for the Fantasyland opening).

I don't mind them if they make sense and if they characters involved are properly to scale.
Two that irk me are:

In the first, Ursula's tentacles are just bad. Way too long, and way too fat. In the second one she is WAY too small.
If you're going to make something that's supposed to look like a group shot, at least get the size relations right.

Donald is one of my favourite characters and I don't like Daisy at all. Obviously they are paired a lot, which I really hate. Or when he is part of the Fab 5 rather than on his own!

I do love this one though

It has given me an idea for a tattoo that I have been dying to get for the past two years, but can't afford to get done yet

I dread the day that Merida is going to be put with the other princesses in front of castles of with a year in the front or some random saying. I will collect all Brave-related pins (if they have Brave characters I will want it) BUT if it features any other character that is not from the film, I do want it less and will value it less. AND it will not go in the frame with my Brave only pins, it will go in a book so I know I have it but it won't be for display lol.

My main collection is aimed toward Donald and Daisy..so I do like pins with multiple characters on them. But, I hesitate on the ones with Donald/Daisy/Goofy/Minnie/Mickey/etc. So you might have a point there..hrmm..

I feel like it really depends on the crossover. Most of them do nothing for me personally, but other people seem to like them. I get doing group pins of villains, princesses, dogs, cats, etc. But I'm really not into putting characters into films they don't belong in or just randomly putting characters on rides. If it makes sense, sure. If it's just done cuz it's popular, I'll pass.

If the characters are from the same movie I like it. I collect pins of Snow White with the dwarfs, Prince, and Evil Queen. I also collect pins of the dwarfs together or Queen by herself. However, I am not a fan of pins with Snow White with the other princesses or the Queen with other villains. Same goes for my other collections. I like pins of Ariel with other characters from the movie but I dont collect pins of her with the other princesses. I recently just started collecting Lilo & Stitch pins (bye bye paycheck) and I love them together, with Nani, or by themselves. I don't collect Stitch with the princesses or other characters though I make the exception for the characters from Snow White. I also collect WDW pins and I like when the Fab5 (mostly Mickey, tbh) are on them. I seem to be the minority in that.

I like it if its someone from the same movie say Belle with Lumiere, as it makes sense. I LOVE the cast pins because its rare to see so many of them together. I think the only time a crossover appearance makes sense is if its like the Villains all together or something along those lines.

The problem with alone characters in pins is that sometimes when is in the same pose only changing a border or background color it is nonsense and I get bore. Like certain mystery sets that use faces in square ,in circle, in shape of hand, in green, in blue, blah, blah blah.
