Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
ahhh, its been so long since I've been here..I hate being busy and going into the adult life, it's ruining my disney life haha! :(

Does anyone know why Ariel's price hasn't gone up? I managed to get blonde Rapunzel who is a old doll in December and since then she has gone up in price by any other £100 and pretty much all the dolls have gone up including the previously cheaper dolls I.e wedding Rapunzel but yet Ariel is still pretty cheap. Do people not like the doll? As I always thought Ariel was one of the most popular princess's.

I'm not a fan of her to be honest, I much prefer her DFDC doll which I bought instead :)

I don't know about the U.K. but she's in the $200 range in the U.S. now. She's a larger edition size than the others, so that might be why she hasn't gone up quite as much as you'd expect.

Agree with larger ed size being part of the reason LE 17" Ariel is not as expensive as others. I love her. I ended up with a beautiful one. Her scales are perfect. She may not be as glam as some other dolls, but she was still well done. I own the Fairytale Couple one, too. I love her upper part of the outfit, but I am not a fan of that blue underskirt. For me, it doesn't match well with the darker overskirt. Still like it, just not fan of that lighter blue skirt.

I'm not a fan of the couples one, to me her face looks exactly like the regular play doll but with lashes and I agree don't like thee lower part of her dress either. As for LE Ariel I love her too half, still wish they had gone with something else for her fin instead of them scale things but she is still beautiful and IMO has the best face and hair of any Ariel doll. I guess edition size has a lot too do with it! Do you think she will always be cheaper?

It's the bigger LE size PLUS a lot of resellers bought her and hope to resell, so there are more of her in the secondary market....... Wedding Rapunzel was selling below retail for very long time, but she gone up because people started to collect previous dolls since frozen, and there are not as much of her in the market at the moment

I think it is just because Ariel is the newest diamond edition doll to be released. These generally take their time to increase in price because the market is generally flooded with the dolls after release due to scalpers buying so many of them and then trying to make a profit off them.

This is another reason why I think the Sleeping Beauty release will not be as bad as Frozen. I honestly think Frozen was just the exception due to the craze. I would not necessary think this will be the same case for each and every LE doll release and that it truly was due to the Frozen hype. I mean look at the Designer TinkerBell and Zarina. They did sell out fast however there are so many of them available on the secondary market, most of which are only selling at retail.

Yes Ariel is LE 6,000 which is a contributing factor but a minor one at that. I believe the major cause for the lower secondary market price is the fact that it is a newer release for an older movie for which the hype and come and gone therefore people are not willing to pay as much for it. Also the fact that Ariel shows the most skin out of all of the LE doll and does not have a dress is probably another factor as well.

I'm just hoping they stay away from bead chains!
Aurora is my favourite princess so I really hope they do a good job with her, I'm expecting the pink dress with lots of sparkle and hopefully not too full in the skirt :) Fingers crossed they get her hair right too!
Im really looking forward to Aurora. I cant wait until we start to get more information, and hopefully the hype/craze of the Frozen dolls will die too.

I also wish they'd release a Flora, Fauna and Merryweather LE doll set!
That would be awesome. I have the set from DS and its so cute.

Random question any answers or even speculation, Is it ok for a cast member either former or current to sell their cast member exclusive items? Trying to settle a debate,

I don't think it's ok
But what's stopping you if your not working there?

I've seen many cast member exclusive vinylmations being sold

Part of me is deciding whether to blow £450 (including postage) on Rapunzel, or hope to see her for a better price. I missed one just last week for £350 (including postage) and she sold quickly; the only reason I didn't buy as it was looking at the time that I'd potentially have to spend a lot repairing my car, which seems to no longer be the case. Joy! I also doubt I'll see her for less again as her demand on other forums and facebook has increased since the Frozen release. A lot of people who were in it just for the Frozen hype are catching the doll collecting bug it seems to me, which also makes me fear for Aurora.

So I recieved my sgt callohan today and it came with 2 corners with little rips. How much do u think it has de valued the doll.

Mate this would be highly dependent on what you want to know the information for as it will vary depending on the situaiton.

If you are referring to the current market value of the dolls in terms of insurance then you would be looking at a value less than cost so around the $50-60 mark. The reason for this is because Calhoun is one of the fewer popular dolls and have been available for something close to retail. As a result a damaged one would probably be valued at less than cost because it is damaged and in terms of availability there are a lot out there so that it could easily be replaced at close to cost.

If you referring to the current market value with the intention of reselling the item on the secondary market then this will depend on the demand for the item. At the moment the Frozen hype is causing a panic buy situation resulting in people paying more than they normally would on an item especially if is stamped with Limited Edition or the words Frozen on it. In the case of Calhoun whilst she is not that popular she is still a limited edition doll and a good looking one at that so depending on how much someone really wants her you could potentially be looking at a value of around $80-90 because her secondary market value is around the $120-150 most people would opt to buy a new one with no damage for the same price and would only buy the damaged one if it cost less than the undamaged ones. Again this will depend on factors such as whether or not a person deboxes their dolls etc.

Either way it really would depend on what you are looking at but in general yes a damaged box will generally result in a lower secondary market rate. However the decrease in value will depend on what value you are looking at.

Thank u. Am annoyed its damged so I just want to sell her and get another one now. I will try and get rid of her and hop to re coup some money. Thank u for taking the time to respond :)

As an owner of coronation Elsa but not Gothel, the trade would be worth it to me, as in I would trade
my Elsa for Gothel. Gothel is my grail doll though, so maybe it's subjective.

I guess its subjective because for me both Elsas would be my grail dolls( Elsa is one of my all time fav disney characters) So for you and most I would say yes because Gothel looks like a nice doll bur for me personally I would not trade Elsa for her. I do have a question for you guys I have been looking for a Tiana doll to display out of box and there is a seller on ebay selling her fairly cheap she is missing the vail though..I dont care for the vail and would have removed it would you say its worth it its bout $85=$95 plus shipping and the certificate is missing as well. I was thinking of going for it since I have a boxed tiana already but want one for display out of box. seller seems trust worthy

Me personally I would never trade Sq Elsa for gothel but would the coronation Elsa! Do you have the other Elsa? If not then you won't have any Elsa doll so it depends on who do you prefer as a character gothel or Elsa because both are beautiful dolls!

Oh yes Im talking about trading coronation elsa, I have both elsas and annas.

Well it's a fair trade. Me personally if I had both Elsa's like you I would trade the coronation Elsa so then you have two separate characters instead of two of the same especially if you like Gothel or tangled :) Gothel is a stunning doll! I keep wanting her but reminding myself I don't collect villains unless it's maleficent lol

I adore the villains! and gothel is just so fabulous and fierce looking! Coronation elsa is absolutely my least favorite of all the 17'' line.
