DisneyStore Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion
And they took the post down!

Carissa, if you go to your local store around 7 or earlier you should be able to get it.

LOL! I love my Cindy film collection dolls (I've even seen the Mattell version in person and MUCH prefer the Disney Store version) but these LE are SO similar to them, except bigger, and shinier, I have to admit I'm so relieved that I don't want them, especially the wedding Cindy for $500! Wow!

Oh no ;w; I work all week ):

You could try getting it online, but honestly it's so much less of a hassle to get them in store. You have to wait in front of the store for hours, but I think it's better than refreshing all the time just to have the item taken out of your cart and not getting it.

Wow what happen the Disney blog Dolls post not showing for me now

Maybe it was because they were receiving so many negative comments about the price? It seems like the only justification for the $500 wedding cinderella is just because of how limited she is, which is not really right. I understand increasing by $10 for the royalties, but nothing justifies $500. I was waiting to see these but now I will be happy just getting the 12" blue dress doll. I like the wedding dress too but don't want to pay for the full set with the prince

So this will be my first LE 17" dolls at the Disney Store in the Florida Mall. Has anyone been to that one? Is it crazy there or would it be best to try online?

Wow I'm really underwhelmed with the high def pics. I mean, she's pretty and all but she looks almost identical to the 11 inch dolls. I dunno if I even want the blue dress Cindy :/ I much prefer the regular heirloom dolls of the animated characters. I feel like these are just not very Disney looking. I hope they do a really good job on Jasmine because these new dolls are not giving me much hope and I was pretty disappointed with the Cinderella and Belle dolls, which were my other 2 favourites as a child

Wow. I never expected to see a doll for $500. I am really curious what will happen with that one and hoping it's not going to become a more regular thing.

So with the ball gown Cinderella, she will be online around 3am EST like usual and then available in some stores later that same day? I haven't been through a release like that before.

They turned Cinderella into some sparkling, sweaty mess.

THIS. And the person who said it looks like Tinker Bell sat on her chest.

These really are just a glam-ed up version of the classic dolls and not worth the price tag; ESPECIALLY the wedding dress one. And personally I like the blue dress but don't like how box-y they've made her face. Same actor but why does the face mold look so different between the blue dress and the wedding dress? Did she get plastic surgery before her wedding or something??

Oh well I'm relieved I'm completely unimpressed by these - the wallet and the hubby will be happy. I'll for sure be getting Anna (yay first Frozen doll!) and still on the fence about Elsa. I'm really not in love with the choice of dress for Elsa and the yellowness of her hair is really bugging me. I need to see if she looks any better in person..

I find it really depressing to see dedicated collectors who have been excited and speculating for months about new releases discussing quitting their beloved hobby. I wish Disney would value their dedicated customers above obscene price inflation. I understand these dolls sell far beyond retail on the secondary market, so I'm sure Disney sees that as a missed opportunity to put that money into their pocket instead. I'm concerned about the quality of the product not matching the retail value - these are still just dolls we're buying and I personally thought $120 was a pretty decent chunk of money to shell out, especially with the pattern of so many releases so close together. But $500 for ONE doll, that will still undoubtedly sell out instantly, is crazy for me to wrap my head around. Secondary market prices are practically encouraged to sky rocket at this point. I really feel for people who are completists!

I've been a proud collector of Disney merchandise my entire life and doll collecting brings me such joy. It's crazy and hectic enough already - but as we all know it's such a rush and nothing beats opening your new doll (unless of course it's damaged) which I think is an issue many of us have struggled with! I hope with these increasing prices that we see less damaged product and an effectively running site during releases at the very least.

With all of this said I am both excited and nervous to see close ups, as I am sure many of you are. As much as I love this hobby I may not be able to justify the insane retail price for a doll that is released before I can even see the movie. I was really looking forward to adding Cinderella to my 17" collection, but I just don't know if it's worth the price at this point. I will probably be better off saving my money for the Aladdin dolls and merch released later this year. The pattern of increasing prices and less than impressive details makes me feel uneasy about future releases, especially because the 17" Aladdin collection is what I have been looking forward to most!

I am completely completely disgusted with Disney right now. I know it's a company and they're trying to make money, but this is just gluttonous. If they had made a spectacular doll with fantastic details like real embroidery on a silk dress or something, then yeah I could understand the price. But they did nothing but throw on a bit of glitter and rhinestones and eyelashes. That doll probably cost them about $20 to make, if that. The ridiculous price is solely for the edition size. When you think that the LE Snow White doll with all of her details retailed for only around $100 (with the movie and lithographs included)...this is just mind-boggling.

I really thought the shininess was only supposed to be on the "magical creatures" like the fairies (I do think it looks nice on them) so I just can't get over the sheen on these.

Yep prob some errors, hoping the price is one of them lol. I like them together (minus their face expression) as the LE would be by herself hehe... But yeah agree no reason for doll to be that high in price.

I agree, I like the shiny skin on the fairies but it doesn't make sense on the other dolls. Kinda like the gold thread made complete sense for Rapunzel's hair, l but now they want to add it to all the dolls.

Does anybody else think it is probably safer to order the Blue Cinderella online that morning since It is going to be released online and in stores on the same day?

Makes me happy with my purchase this week in contrast

Hi everyone!

So this will be my first time ordering a doll online as I can't take off work to go to the store and wait in line. Any tips or tricks? I am really hoping to get Elsa and/or Anna - but especially Elsa since I am an avid Frozen collector and I am missing the first two sets!

Maybe it's supposed to be like an end-of-the-party look. I mean, she's glistening with sweat, her hair's down, and she's covered in glitter. Instead of a ball she ended up at a club. Those butterflies actually light up like glow sticks, you'll see.
