DisneyStore Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion

Disneystore wants to replace my Wedding Cinderella doll, which tells me that they did keep some for exchanges. I don't know how I feel about this. I feel like worse things could happen if I send her back.

Oh wow. Too bad they won't send you a replacement first so you can inspect it before you have to send one back. I wonder how many they kept for exchanges?

My grail Anna just arrived today almost the same time as Kristoff. It just makes today a perfect day for me! A wonderful day! And only Q215 Elsa is waiting for custom clearance now.

I'll let Anna stand in my office. Every time I feel tired, I'll just look at her and it would make me feel much better immediately.:lol:

So I haven't checked my tracking number in a few days and when I checked my blue ball gown cinderella is out for early delivery today!! I can't wait to see her. As for the wedding Cinderella I would just keep her as you don't know if the replacement will be in good condition or worse plus she may get lost. Maybe try asking Disney for a partial refund on the price instead of a replacement. I am not sure how Disney is in these cases since I have never dealt with them regarding a damaged box or product. Can't hurt to try right?

As it turns out, they didn't keep any at all. I got another email from them. Where, "upon further review" the item is sold out and they cannot offer replacements. I'm getting a $50 gift card instead, which is fine with me.

I was actually going to agree with everyone here and decline the replacement anyway (such a hassle!), so it worked out alright.

I bought her from a french seller on EBAY and it costs me about $1000. And I have to give up my PC upgrade plan this year to buy her first in case her price would go higher.:cry:

I agree! I thought it was very generous. I was surprised I got offered anything at all aside from the return option (as if I'd ever do that, haha). That gives me about $100 back from this release in gift cards, which is sad but also slightly funny at the same time. I included the links to the pictures of the scratches in the original message I sent. I'm not sure if they would have requested them otherwise.

Argentine...I read your post that DS comment they were in fact out of stock. But if they were able to send you a replacement, I would have just paid for it and then inspected the two of them and returned the lesser for a refund. No no no to the whole "you return, and we will replace".....because we all know that follows with a silent "75% of the time".

Congrats on Coronation Anna! I know everyone wants Snow Queen Elsa, but personally I think Coronation Anna is the most beautiful of all of the Frozen dolls. She is actually in my top three favorites of the entire LE 17" line...every time I look at my dolls my eyes always go to her.

Ok, so my Regal Elsa came in yesterday. Yay and double yay! Her box is mostly perfect, so no complaining there. The plastic cover IS incredibly pungent from I don't know what and it is ridiculously difficult to put back on. I wasn't surprised because you guys kept me informed, so thank you very much!

i do have one issue with my Elsa, well, with her left glove. Upon close inspection I noticed the thumb portion almost has a hole in it from her thumb being poked in there incorrectly. The only thing I could do to fix it: I took. Them. Off. Andthenputthemrightbackonagain!!! Correctly! BUT, I had to lay her right hand over her left because the frayed part of the left glove looked ugly. I will post a pic to see what you all think.

Anyhoo, I'm so glad to have her safe and sound. And I'm so glad to read about everyone's Blue and Wedding Cindys trickling in. Arrival Day is so much fun!!! Everyone enjoy!!!

I know everyone wants Snow Queen Elsa, but personally I think Coronation Anna is the most beautiful of all of the Frozen dolls.

I got these dolls on release day, before anyone had seen the movie. Whenever I showed my friends Elsa (the doll I loved more) they agreed she was beautiful, but then when I showed them Anna, they were like, forget Elsa, this doll's wayyyyyyyy nicer.

Then they saw the movie and now prefer the Elsa doll. lol

So I think if you look at the doll for its surface value, Anna is nicer. People just connect more with Elsa as a character (which I'm sure we already knew, lol).

Totally stupid question. Why do people keep referring to the newest doll as Regal Elsa? It's such an odd nick name to me. She seems more like Teen Elsa or Montage Elsa or Emo Elsa or something. Just curious because I keep seeing her referred to this way.

haha, I like Emo Elsa. I was calling her Purple Elsa, then Regal Elsa bc I saw someone else call her that, but I'm good with whatever... How about Angsty Elsa?

ooo, or we could call her Beginning of the film, We only see you for like five seconds in that dress Elsa.

Facebook referred to her as REGAL ELSA and ELSA REGAL PURPLE DRESS when she was released, so I guess that's the name that stuck.

The Disneystore Blog site described her as a "regal vision" in the official announcement. I think it's a fitting description - the purple color really conjures up images of royalty in my mind.

Also my Cinderella doll just arrived. It is magnificent as all of you already know. The box design, while more prone to damage on the unprotected side edges, really emphasizes the doll's elegance.

I call her that because the Limited Edition Dolls fb page referred to her as such: "Regal Elsa is part of the 3rd wave of Frozen LE dolls, excluding the Harrod’s Frozen set. She was released in stores on March 3rd, 2015 and online, March 4th, 2015. LE 5000. Original price: $119.95 US" and I thought it was very fitting. I'm not sure if they got it from somewhere else. They call the March 2015 Anna and Kristoff "Summer Anna" and "Summer Kristoff' which seem fairly fitting as well (They wear those outfits when summer returns to the nation).

The DS page also refers to her as regal: "The Disney Store proudly presents the worldwide Limited Edition Elsa Doll. A regal vision, draped in sumptuous dark purple velvet from head to toe, Elsa is costumed as seen at the beginning of Disney's feature film Frozen."

Elsa seems very regal to me because of her posture, expression, hair, outfit, even the way she is positioned by a castle window likely overlooking her nation, seemingly in contemplation of her new role as matriarch of Arendelle. While this is the outfit that symbolizes her two-year wait before ascending the throne, she is already the most powerful person in the country and knows she will soon be called upon to lead officially. She looks like she is reflecting on this great responsibility.

Good point...I think more people resonate with Elsa (especially in her Snow Queen, Let It Go outfit) which has influenced her grail status. And don't get me wrong she is a gorgeous doll...there is just something about the Coronation Anna doll that I love.

My sister and I also purchased these dolls on release day, and not knowing anything about the characters I was really drawn to the Anna doll and thought she was gorgeous...so that could be why my personal opinion sways towards Anna more. My sister was drawn to the Elsa doll and loved her more...but regardless of who people like more, I still think those two first Frozen dolls were really well made and some of the best of the 17" line.

Oh, haha, that makes sense. Thanks for all the responses. So it's Disney's fault! I passed on this version of her, so I guess that's why I didn't understand the title. I've seen Summer Anna as a moniker, too.

I wasn't even sure people would get what I meant by that. Since they've released a new set every year, I just call them by that. Only, I have a feeling there'll be more than one 2015 set, so that won't work much longer.

Regal Elsa it is (even though I hate the sound of it). She seems more matronly than regal to me, but I'll try to open my mind to the way everyone else sees her.

I was also one of the ones who got these dolls at retail when they first came out. I wasn't really into LE dolls yet, only having bought Wedding Rapunzel and Merida in the black gown on a whim, but when my dad saw that they were releasing Coronation Anna and SQ Elsa, he insisted on getting them both for me. And so he ended up forcing my mom to go to the store early that morning, lol, typical of him. It ended up being an amazing surprise, though, and I have always had strong fondness for both dolls after that.

LOL, this is exactly the kind of image I thought Emo Elsa would conjure up. I was referring to her angsty behavior, though. Maybe this one will be part of the next set ^

Honestly, she could be all those things (she's regal, she's a princess, the dark coloring can seem emo-ish, the lack of displayed skin can seem matronly looking). But I would be sad to have her commonly referred to by a term that kinda seems to put her down. I kinda can see bad points in any doll (I am a bit of a perfectionist like that) but I wouldn't call them by that trait as a nickname, you know?
