DisneyStore Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion
I did manage to get Cindy. I have looked on eBay and some of them have sold for less than £100. Maybe you could keep watch if you really want her :)

thanks Dollfan81, I will definitely keep a lookout, ifI really wanted her I could afford to buy now but it's just the normal debate between 'settling' for a doll now versus saving for a doll I really want!

Thanks for all the positive feedback. Personalizing a doll won't appeal to everyone, so I appreciate the kindness.

Unfortunately it's not a magic remedy. I used acetone, which removes paint from dolls. You have to be extremely careful when spot removing, because you could slip and remove an eyebrow or an eye. I used q-tips for her forehead and chin, and then fine-tipped cotton swabs to get around her eyes and mouth.

I really wish Disney had just made her this way. I agree that the shimmer looked better in person than in pics, but it still drove me crazy. In dim light, she looked like her face was glowing. And not in a good way.

Disney's gotten more and more excited about glimmering up their LE dolls, but I reallllly hope they're done with it now.

Thank you :) I hate the shine so much. I hope disney will ever send her I am going to talk with my mom (lol) if i should take the risk to do it. I think she looks amazing without it and more happy! I would not be happy if jasmine shines it would ruin her:( (I guess she will come out later this year)

I'm pretty new here and generally a shy person, but I'm going to try to post more since I love reading this thread and seeing photos of everyone's dolls. :)

I am curious: what other types of things do you collect besides Disney? As for me, I mainly collect dolls vintage and new... I love Mod/Eyelash Era Barbies, Liddle Kiddles, Dawn dolls, 1950's Ginny dolls, Monster High, and Ever After High. I also collect some art and old tintype photographs.

I'm really still kicking myself for not ordering Ball Gown Cinderella. After seeing everyone's photos on here, I liked her a lot more than in the Disney Store stock photos, and now that I've seen the movie, I am kind of obsessing over the fact that I didn't attempt to buy her on release night. I keep telling myself maybe it wasn't meant to be, but I can't help but feel that I made a huge mistake not staying up for that release. I wish I had a Disney Store in my city, because I definitely would have gone to see her in person to make a better decision, sigh...

I don't think you should be shy around here. It's just the internet, right? :)

I used to collect these monkey dolls called Monchhichi, but then my Disney collection got so big I had to sell them on for space. Before that I collected Living Dead Dolls (kind of the opposite of Disney) which bled into my Chucky collection. But there were only so many Chucky dolls I could have before I got bored of them. But then, growing up my room looked like a little girl's because I had Disney everything. But this was before Disney Store got their act together, so my toys were from Toys R Us. When I was a kid, the Disney Store dolls were the ugly ones. Now it's the other way around!

I think I would've kicked myself if I had passed on the Cinderella doll, too, which was my original intention. I don't think she'll climb too much on the secondary market, though, so you might be able to grab one yet.

I have a feeling no one is in my boat, but just in case I will post anyway....I inquired again about my LE Anna doll order (label created 7 days ago, tracking given, and credit card charged 7 days ago). Disney simply responded that the doll was out of stock and they would be refunding me. I'm not sure how long they would have taken to give me back my money if I had not contacted them. Kinda strange, I have never had a label created and then been told "out of stock" - I have a feeling that since some stated they received two of the same doll....some of us didn't get what we ordered. I shot out one last e-mail to Disney telling them I would still like the doll if someone were to return a duplicate - goodness, there should be some sort of priority list if that were the case. Super peeved at the moment at the generic nature of the response I got. It's just a doll...but they've had my money for a week now, and I had to contact them twice to be told "eh, sorry....have a magical day though" Yeah, it's so magical right now, lol.

Hi Rapunz, sorry to hear what happened to you.
the same thing happened to me with coronation Anna, they send me a blast off email, they take the money from my account, they send me a tracking UPS label (that never didn't work) and they keep my money for 7 weeks, every time I call for a refund, when it was obvious that the doll was lost, they told me that they were very sorry and they will take care of the problem right away and offer me a gift car for $10 sometimes $20, and I keep telling them that I wanted a refund to my account, no a gift card, they keep this up until I yell to last to last person I talk to that I was to accused them of fraud, He ask me to calm down, no to worry and the next day the money was in my account.

Since that happened to me, when there is a doll release that I'm interested for, I work something off with one of my coworkers and take half a day off and go to the store, to pre-order or buy the doll I want.

I am going to talk with my mom (lol) if i should take the risk to do it.

As much as I encourage people to remove her annoying shimmer, I don't know if I'd suggest trying acetone for the first time on a LE doll. Practice on some cheap dolls first, just to get used to using it. I've been altering dolls with acetone for YEARS, and I still managed to make a mistake. And she won't come out perfect, even if you don't make a mistake--if I take a flash photo, she looks insane. But under normal light, she's fine. You'd have to inspect her closely to see the flaws.

If you've never used acetone before, you'll be amazed how easily it removes paint. A single swipe across her mouth, and she'd have no more lips. So if anyone does try this, please just be very, very careful. I'd hate to be responsible for anyone ruining their dolls!!

I rec'd my Cinderella blast off at 1:02 am today, and it's already got a departure scan from UPS with a Friday scheduled delivery date. It's going to FL. I can't wait to see her in person! Thanks to everyone who posted pics. It helps with the wait.

The nearest Disney store is nearly an hour away from me and it's hard to get time off of work, so I never go to the store. I'd really like to so I could see the doll in person and not have this wait, but the thought of spending the time, money on gas and taking a day off work with the possibility of walking away with nothing keeps me from doing it. I am thinking of doing it for the summer designer releases, or Aladdin, just for the experience, and so i don't have to wait.

How disappointing...and 7 weeks is insane! They should have paid you back with interest. I have noticed when ever I have to deal with returns online, they do like to stick with the store credit unless you put up a fuss. I'm not sure why that is. Most stores on the planet just give you your money back unless you don't have a receipt. I did look up my online receipt and it shows only 1/2 the amount, so I think they processed a refund, though it will take up to 5 days to see they say. I called them this morning, they are "opening an investigation" and will get back with me. I used to work at a distribution center for a company....I know how things work. I don't have high hopes for them finding it, but there is an incredible amount of info gathered as a box goes from picking, packing, and travels down a beltway. There are several checkpoints a box has to go through, and they should be able to see the last one. At the place I worked, they could almost ALWAYS find the item, and when they couldn't they would go to the cameras since they knew the exact time a box had passed through a checkpoint....there were rare instances of employees caught on tape stealing. I'm not saying that happened here, but I know it does happen.

Well my blue Cinderella has shipped ^__^ Still haven't seen the movie yet, but hopefully DH and I will have time this weekend.
I packed up my extra Elsa today to be picked up by UPS. We'll see if I actually get my Anna as promised.

thank you for all the information! I will try it on some older dolls i have before i will try it on her I want to know how they look first with shine and after the shine. because i would not want to ruin her. :) thank you again

Good luck. I was reading on Facebook that a lot of people seemed to get extra Annas but no one bothered reporting it to DS.

I'm new here too. I felt sort of the same, I wasn't planning on purchasing the LE blue gown Cinderella. But, luckily I went to the advanced screening of the movie last Thursday night. I loved the movie so much, when I got home, I stayed up to order it at release. Sorry you didn't get her. I'm sure I would have missed out if I hadn't seen the movie that night. And hopefully something else will be coming out in the near future that you will love just as much! Best to you. And welcome!

Thanks so much for your kind words and for being so welcoming! Oh, you are so lucky you got to see the advanced screening! It was such a magical movie. I really loved everything about it. I want to go see it again, lol... Has your package arrived from the Disney Store yet? I hope your doll is even more stunning in person. :)

Ooh, I used to have Monchhichi dolls and some keychains as a kid - I wonder what ever happened to them! I know I had a brown plush and a white plush one... I think the white one was a girl maybe? They are super cute. I really love hearing about the things people collect! I've seen photos of the Living Dead Dolls too, and those look amazing. I'd love to see one in person one day...

I think you're right about the prices not climbing too much on the secondary market for Cinderella. I have been checking eBay, and the prices really aren't ridiculous for her yet, so I'm still considering buying her. It's hard to know when to take the leap and buy when it comes to secondary market prices sometimes - watching the prices go up and down can be like watching the stock market, lol. :)

Wedding has movement, hooray!

Same here! She should be here tomorrow. :)

And Blue Cinderella is supposed to arrive this afternoon...I can't wait!

Now I just need to figure out where I am going to put these dolls...I barely had enough room for the Frozen dolls that just came out. I have space in my "Disney room" for one more bookcase so I might have to go ahead and get another one. I love how big and detailed these dolls are but I hate how much room they take up! When I get around to framing my pins I will have no wall space left to hang them because I have filled my walls with bookcases for dolls! LOL

Well I said I didnt like the new frozen dolls well apart from Anna as its my favourite Anna outfit! But I caved and got Elsa to go with Anna, and I'm so happy with her, I prefer her to my coronation Elsa! I still think the SQ Elsa is the nicest Elsa, but she is so expensive so this is a great alternative! I maybe in the minority but I prefer Elsa's shine to her face over any of the other dolls I have with shiny skin. I love the purple tint. Now if Disney just release a Frozen fever Elsa or a Designer Elsa in her SQ dress I will be happy:)
My rankings for the Frozen dolls:
1. SQ Elsa
2.Regal Elsa
3.Nordic Anna
4.Cornation Elsa
5.Frozen Fever Anna
6. Coronation Anna
7. Kristoff

Same here! She should be here tomorrow. :)

LOL, I'm trying to figure that out myself. I have enough room for the 3rd set of Frozen dolls, but now need to make space for the Cinderellas. Then, if there's a fall release (or D23 release), I'm going to have to think about whether I will want those. I'm slowly progressing from 12" to 17" dolls. :)

Cindy arrived today...wow, so fast considering my other super slow problem. The shimmer does not bother me...If left in her box she is running down the stairs right? Stress of beating the clock striking 12. It's moonlight meets perspiration ;)

Just saw on Facebook that wedding Cinderella arrived for someone and there was no double-boxing! Just the same standard brown single lonesome box :(

I saw the movie last night (it was great imo) and I think they gave the doll shimmery skin because in the movie she has subtle shimmer all over her body and then lots of glitter across her shoulders and chest. I think they did this to show the fairy dust/magic that was used on Cinderella. I still don't think the doll does a great job of representing Cindy though- I'm disappointed with how they did the skirt of the dress as one big bubble, rather than that scrunched tulle look that makes it so swishy in the movie. I think the Mattel doll achieved that look the best. I hope the Belle dolls that come out in 2017 are really good- the DS versions, Mattel, LE, basically all of them. I'm really excited for that movie now that I know Cinderella turned out quite well.

since i missed out on a grail snow globe, i am legit contemplating just putting that money towards a wedding cinderella (the 12" disney one) and making her into a smaller version of the limited edition one. repainting some of the flowers with fabric paint, gluing some jewels, etc.

also so stoked that disneylimitededitiondolls on tumblr re-blogged my cindy photo. that was really cool, since i'm on that blog a lot now.

Hey Rabbit- did you ever get the Mattel dolls? Toysrus has them now! I went in on Friday and they had the wedding Cinderella, but not the blue ballgown one. They're available to order online on Toysrus.ca but the woman said they'd probably get them in today or tomorrow. Gonna wait until the weekend to check. I'd rather pick them out in person so that I can get the nicest looking ones, but still. Excited to finally get one soon :)

hey, thanks for the heads-up! omg lol, i don't even know if i want them anymore. i kind of just set my eyes on the limited edition cindy and was like "you are all that i need". hahaha!

i will go eventually to toys r us and check them out. i really love mattel's packaging but the doll itself is not as glamorous to me anymore. i also don't have a lot of room and i want to be really selective with what i buy so i don't regret it in a day of just staring at something and then being like "k, done".

which reminds me, have you heard anything about the ihome carriage speaker? :c i commented in the cinderella thread but no one heard anything about it. that's like the last thing i want from this line, apart from the expensives i either can't afford or don't particularly want.

My wedding Cindy arrived! She's 068/500. Lowest number I have! Good news and bad news. Good news is that despite no double boxing, the outer box of the doll arrived in perfect condition. Bad news, the clear plastic cover has scratches on it. The plastic was protected with tissue paper, so these had to have happened before packaging. Does anyone know if there is something I can do about this? Scratch 1 picture, scratch 2

It's kind of annoying, but honestly I'm just happy I got her. She's so incredibly gorgeous! And her box is gigantic.
