DisneyStore Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion

I received my Blast Off email for Wedding Cinderella around 7:00 PM yesterday, and when I checked my order status on DS.com this morning it updated to closed and provided the tracking number. She says the same thing as yours..."order processed, waiting for pick-up". I am sure they will start shipping them out soon, most likely tonight. But if I don't see movement by Wednesday night or Thursday morning I will give them a call. :)

Wedding has movement, hooray!

I wonder how many new collectors we've gained and how many we've lost during these past two releases.

So my Disney Store, which as been under renovation for quite some time now, won't be open again until early April. I was really hoping it would be open this week so maybe, JUST maybe, they could get a small shipment of extra LE Cinderella dolls in or something so I could buy her at retail without having to spend over $250 for her on eBay. Aw well. Just gonna have to save up more money or move on to the next doll/collectible.

I'm going to do the same, get her a free-standing shelf for her to be displayed all on her own. She doesn't look nice up high, needs to be on eye level.

Even though I opened her to restyle her, I plan to display her in her box, but I have to alter it first. I've added gems, now I have to play with the background so that she can be centered and let her dress out. I took a pic of a backless mockup. Like this:

Still more work to be done, but you probably get the point.

I think she looks lovely. She may not have turned out exactly the way you wanted her to, but I still think you did a great job on restyling her hair and getting rid of her "magic sweat" or whatever you want to call it. I'm looking forward to seeing her in her box!

My wedding Cindy should be here tomorrow. I'm so excited! The expedited shipping didn't really make much of a difference since she didn't get picked up until yesterday, but I'm just excited to have her home. :anxious:

For anyone wondering, DisneyStore did end up mailing my ball gown Cinderella to the wrong address. My sister received her today, all the way in Kentucky. But they did give me a $50 gift card for the trouble, which is more than what I paid for the shipping.

I cannot wait to see everyone's wedding Cindy! I wonder if her veil is just as light and breezy as the movie version.

I too will be getting a delivery soon, my regal Elsa will be in tomorrow! Yay!

I'm pretty new here and generally a shy person, but I'm going to try to post more since I love reading this thread and seeing photos of everyone's dolls. :)

I am curious: what other types of things do you collect besides Disney? As for me, I mainly collect dolls vintage and new... I love Mod/Eyelash Era Barbies, Liddle Kiddles, Dawn dolls, 1950's Ginny dolls, Monster High, and Ever After High. I also collect some art and old tintype photographs.

I'm really still kicking myself for not ordering Ball Gown Cinderella. After seeing everyone's photos on here, I liked her a lot more than in the Disney Store stock photos, and now that I've seen the movie, I am kind of obsessing over the fact that I didn't attempt to buy her on release night. I keep telling myself maybe it wasn't meant to be, but I can't help but feel that I made a huge mistake not staying up for that release. I wish I had a Disney Store in my city, because I definitely would have gone to see her in person to make a better decision, sigh...

I have a feeling no one is in my boat, but just in case I will post anyway....I inquired again about my LE Anna doll order (label created 7 days ago, tracking given, and credit card charged 7 days ago). Disney simply responded that the doll was out of stock and they would be refunding me. I'm not sure how long they would have taken to give me back my money if I had not contacted them. Kinda strange, I have never had a label created and then been told "out of stock" - I have a feeling that since some stated they received two of the same doll....some of us didn't get what we ordered. I shot out one last e-mail to Disney telling them I would still like the doll if someone were to return a duplicate - goodness, there should be some sort of priority list if that were the case. Super peeved at the moment at the generic nature of the response I got. It's just a doll...but they've had my money for a week now, and I had to contact them twice to be told "eh, sorry....have a magical day though" Yeah, it's so magical right now, lol.

Did you email or call about it? I have found that calling the customer service generally yields better results than sending an email to them. For some reason they seem to go the extra mile when you are actually on the phone.

That's so unfortunate for you. It doesn't make any sense that Anna is out of stock since I heard no one received two Anna. I think it would be more likely that my Elsa being out of stock rather than Anna. But my Elsa has been on her way two days ago. That's a so magical error.

Maybe I will just give them a call in the morning then. I got this message after hours. Fingers are crossed!

And thanks cxn4698 - yeah...all I saw were duplicate Elsa's both here and on DS facebook page too. So that is odd...I just assumed if it happened to one, then surely mistakes were made with the other, but maybe it is something else. I'm sure there are a handful of these issues every doll release - so I'm trying to not be one of "those" people. Things happen I get it. I just liked her better out of the two.

I'm sorry to hear that this happened to you. In your position, I would call customer service and lodge a complaint. They obviously won't be able to replace the doll and will more than likely offer you gift options, as well as a full refund, but at the very least, it brings the situation to the company's attention. They do have a reputation to maintain, and this is not a situation they will want to make a habit of, so hopefully it will help them get their act together in the shipping and handling of these limited edition items.

Thanks for the note - I will update if they do anything to resolve. Yeah...my shipping label has a weight listed - so I know a physical doll box got a label on it - it just never made it's way to UPS. mystery.

I'm new here too. I felt sort of the same, I wasn't planning on purchasing the LE blue gown Cinderella. But, luckily I went to the advanced screening of the movie last Thursday night. I loved the movie so much, when I got home, I stayed up to order it at release. Sorry you didn't get her. I'm sure I would have missed out if I hadn't seen the movie that night. And hopefully something else will be coming out in the near future that you will love just as much! Best to you. And welcome!

Sorry, I meant to reply with the quote, but didn't. Then realized you couldn't tell who I was replying too. (Well, at least I said I was new here :hs:)

I just wanted to share a pic of how Cinderella might've looked without that oily face. I restyled mine and removed the shimmer. She's still in progress, but I'm not ashamed to show her... Even if she didn't turn out the way I envisioned.

I really hope Disney's done with this shiny crap. It ruins the look of the dolls and isn't easy to remove.

I could not find how you removed to oily face. and i would like to know how you did it because I think she looks 1000 times better!

Starting to feel annoyed with myself for not ordering ball gown Cinderella now!
Everyone's photos (especially yours Quasimodo!) are so beautiful, disney really needs to hire better photographers to shoot the stock photos

I did manage to get Cindy. I have looked on eBay and some of them have sold for less than £100. Maybe you could keep watch if you really want her :)

Thanks for all the positive feedback. Personalizing a doll won't appeal to everyone, so I appreciate the kindness.

Unfortunately it's not a magic remedy. I used acetone, which removes paint from dolls. You have to be extremely careful when spot removing, because you could slip and remove an eyebrow or an eye. I used q-tips for her forehead and chin, and then fine-tipped cotton swabs to get around her eyes and mouth.

I really wish Disney had just made her this way. I agree that the shimmer looked better in person than in pics, but it still drove me crazy. In dim light, she looked like her face was glowing. And not in a good way.

Disney's gotten more and more excited about glimmering up their LE dolls, but I reallllly hope they're done with it now.
