We spoke to Special Events at Disney (407-827-7600) and spoke to Suzanne who
said that this year the event is going to be on August 26 and 27, 2016

She said that they were going to try and update the Disney Blog (ODPT.COM)
as soon as possible.

Disney can change anything at anytime, but for now that is what I was told

Look forward to seeing everyone there!!!
 
sure wish it was after Labor Day...sigh...at least now there is a date.

I know Disney can switch things but for now this was as of today's info
from them.

At least we can all start to some what plan a bit. Disney should update their
Blog/ODPT.COM soon so we all can at least be secure :)

Hmm....I'm fairly sure I'm free then. I'd love to go to this (so many Inside Out possibilities!), though after hotel and flight and event costs it might be cheaper in the long run to just pay for someone's RSP...

I'm tempted to book a hotel room now but don't want to do so until I know for sure I can even go.

We are committed to providing a great experience for all our attendees. Please read below for details and continue to watch the Disney Parks Blog for additional registration and event information.
Things to Know Before You Register

  • Introduced at last year’s event to ensure that all attendees have equal access to the trading boards, we will again provide each Pixar Party Trading Event attendee with vouchers to use for the trading board experience. Guests will have the opportunity to trade at the boards a designated number of times during the two-day event.
  • As a reminder, it is also important to note that Walt Disney World Resort has updated park rules regarding items that may be brought into the theme parks. Guests should be aware of the restrictions on bags (including suitcases, backpacks, trailers, wagons) and folding chairs. Please carefully review the list of prohibited items and other park rules at. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/park-rules/.
  • You are welcome to bring Vinylmation™ figures to trade with other Guests, however we will not sell Vinylmation™ figures nor offer Vinylmation™ trading activities at the event.

Well, for sure there won't be any Tigger or Cinderella pins so, my RSP will be "available".

That would give Event Services only 3 days to convert the space for the Dinner Parties & Chef demos done in there.

Guess they didn't want to cut it that close. :-)
 
We already booked our Food and Wine trip (Sept 23rd), and I know I have this weekend off (as a teacher), so I'm tempted. =)

I'll wait and see what the catalog looks like.
 
Do the reservations for these events usually sell out pretty quickly? I didn't pay attention last year since I wasn't interested in going. I'm hoping I'll know by April if I can go, but I might have to hold off on registering.
 
The registration for the actual event does not sell out quickly . . . at least, not like D23 events in southern California! LOL However, IMHO, the pin breakfast just before start of the event (Friday morning) does sell out quickly.
 
Ok, thanks. I'm assuming you can't buy the breakfast if you don't also buy the event registration. I'd want to go to the breakfast, too.

Guess I'll just have to figure things out before reg opens!
 
I had planned to fly home on the Sunday after the Pixar Party pin event. Can some one tell me about the PinPics/PinCon event? Where was it last year? What were the hours? Is it worth staying an extra day?
 
Mike, on PinPics main page there is a write up about their Event last year under the Blog section. Pretty informative. I was not at the Pin Event last year so I can't comment on the PinPics event personally, but it did look like it was pretty good.

Thanks for the tip on the blog! However, I could only find a writeup about the PinPics Surprise Party. I can not imagine starting a Sunday pin event with cocktails!
