Disney Store UK question (e.g. that Tangled Pin)

I added the Pin to pinpics so as soon as it arrives to Me I will Take a Nice High Quality Photo of it and Update it :)

UPDATE; Well, I just edited one of the photos from the internet, It's not the greatest but it will do for now until my pin arrives from the UK. Hope this Helps <3

My pins arrived today without any correspondence from Disney and I know others are still waiting. Now to update my PinPics before I list it as a trader
 
I phoned round a few stores to see what the situation was, Westfield had three and sold them this morning, Tuesday. Convent Garden didnt get any, Disney told them they were sold out. Oxford Street are sold out.

Its a pain in the butt trying to get these UK pins now, since they changed the release time to 9am, I cant even get them online, I'm at the school!! I have already emailed Disney in relation to previous releases, but it just feels like their not listening!

I hope this fiasco was about them restricting people from buying too many pins, I hate to see these Ebay sellers listing the same pin over and over, when I cant even get one. I will never buy a new release from an Ebay seller at inflated prices!! This hobby is expensive enough as it is!

That's entirely your choice & one I commend BUT the demand of this pin is such that it is driving the value (selling & tradeable) through the roof - the average sale price on eBay is £35 (this is against almost 10% of the LE size) so that is where the price is being pitched; the Pinpics trades ratio is 20 vs 95

Assume that 35 have been sold into collections & another 20 people may have 2 of the pin = 75 total out of 350, so almost 25% of the LE size will be acquired at one stage or another through buying or trading for personal collections, that leaves the rest for collectors to grab - now an LE275 so to speak!

I have received my order today I have kept one & may out the other up for sale or trade for the harder wants on my list, if I sell then it'll be in-line with demand, something that I did expect to be honest!
 
So... contiunuing from the saga ive already been through with disney trying to explain that Charlotte (Ghostinthesnow) and i are not the same person, and that people buy pins on behalf of other traders that are tied up at 9am on fridays with life based things, not in order to resell on the bay.
I randomly checked my paypal account and noticed that not only had i been charged for the pins id been told i wasnt receiving but i had been charged multiple times (i had originally paid for an order with paypal, and one via visa) as well as being charged through my bank account. So i gave them a ring (Well Three as two hung up on me whilst i was on hold!) and spoke to a lad called Ashley, who after trying to explain that there had been major glitches which were duplicating everyones orders like crazy, their system was showing that i had put through more than 4 orders and it had cut off the error there, so all the duplicates had been deleted, and a note had been left on the order saying that i had been phoned and agreed to receiving only one order of 2 pins however disney have NEVER contacted me, ive always rung them. Ashley has refunded all overpayments and has informed me that i should be getting my pins in the next 2-3days, so fingers crossed.

Phew Rant over!

P.S Ashley said it is worked out as one order of two pins per customer, not by household or any other means. So hopefully Charlotte and i will both be able to order our quota of two pins each as we have different first names and bank accounts, even though our surnames and address match

Tinker: Shame you are not even going to reply to a few yes/no questions, when most of them weren't even about the wrong facts you have been posting like the supposed order limit on DS.com. I asked for your genuine opinion on some things, nothing more and nothing less. Your refusal to give them does back up the opinion I have of you. Yes, you would like the other people to lose their orders as long as they are not "helping" you because you couldn't care less about others unless you think there is some benefit in for you.

I do not believe you because I know what you are telling is not the truth. A lot of people know it is not, and I think it is pretty sad that no one but Anastasia and me really spoke up.

Probably that is because so many people can't be bothered to reply to you because you are a totally hopeless case. If anything does not go exactly how you want it to go you sulk and pout and refuse anything but stating "I know I am right". Others may even be scared after that little story in November with your husband coming on and threatening everyone with law suits etc.!

I only did post at all because I strongly believe you were totally wrong in how you reacted to Anastasia and I thought it was sad she was left almost on her own. Otherwise yes, I could not have been bothered either. The main reason why I came on here though: a package arrived from Disney on Tuesday, without any correspondence. Seeing it contained an extra item I ordered that was the first order I placed. Yesterday my friend called and told me a second package has arrived, with two more Tangled pins. Didn't get shipping confirmation for either one. According to the order number in the package it is the second Paypal order.

Before the cries "OMG you have to return them!" start: one is going to a friend who tried to get a pin in stores and was too late because they allowed to buy the first person in line all they had, and the second one will be given to someone I would have given it to anyway if I had managed to get extras, at cost. That is way more fair in my eyes than returning to them to Disney and the first possible shark being on the site at the right moment snaps them up.

In any case, I am rambling. I guess I should go the route many long term traders have gone and simply disappear from here. At the very least I am going to take an extended break. Has no one ever wondered why so many long term traders you knew from the earlier years are gone or barely post anymore? Maybe everyone should ask themselves what the reasons for that may be.

So long, and it was nice while it lasted. I took a longer break some time the year before last and thought things were marginally better when I decided to come back, but I have really had enough now. This place has become drama central. If I want to have drama I plop in a Beverly Hills 90210 DVD. Worst thing: I get e-mails and messages saying "you are so right" and no one dares to speak up.

EDITED to add: Sorry Danny, overread your reply back then. Edited post above. I admire you you can pull yourself together that much, but I really come to the point where things go too wrong and I feel some things need to be said.

I agree no one stands up for anything anymore but I dont bother as it doesnt do anything in te long term. And by any means if any does say return them then they are fools to type that let alone even think it. As not a single person would return pins from 2 orders. Im glad you are helping out other people who couldnt get a hold of the pins themselves :)

I wasn't going to post here again, but I just wanted to say I completely agree with you Vala. It's a shame few people bother to stand up and be counted any more. It's the same on the Facebook groups too. I can't be bothered anymore. Many people are happy to say things behind the scenes, and then won't actually say anything publicly, and this is part of the reason that Disney get away with such bad customer service.

I think I just need a break from all the stress and hassle of pins. In the beginning it was a fantastic hobby, something that helped take my mind off others things and something I really loved (especially when I got into trading). But just recently it's become less of a hobby and more of a chore. Certainly I've been a lot less active online over recent weeks, and I can't imagine that changing anytime soon. I will probably continue to go to some of the UK pin meets though, as I've made many great friends over the last couple of years and I always look forward to catching up with them. :)

I have remained silent reading all off your comments over the last couple of weeks as I have had to deal with the death of my Mum and I have to say that it really saddens me to think that what was once a fantastic hobby 5 years ago has turned people against each other, it really does beggars belief that some of the comments both on here and on Facebook have come from some people I know.

I think everyone on these forums should take a long hard look at themselves and also think about these facts

6 months ago when the UK Disney stores decided to remove open edition pins I complained bitterly on here on Facebook and to Disney that the system would not work even though I got all the pins and it seems nothing has changed, people will only complain when they miss out otherwise they remain quite content this is not just about pin trading its human nature.....fact.

what we should do is talk to Disney direct which is why I am going to contact them myself and invite them to the next met on the south coast personally, if my request goes unanswered or ignored then we will all know what Disney UK really thinks of pin traders and I will inform you all of the response I get perhaps even a online petition may help us to get some of us to talk directly to some one in the Disney organisation who actually can do something about the extremely poor way we have been treated and why they don't seem willing to help grow pin trading n the UK

And secondly having spent my entire adult life working in the retail sector I can also understand some of Disney's thinking, for example why produce more product then they can sell? If you think about some of the comments on the forums and Facebook that some people put about only getting pins when they are in the sales it would also suggest to Disney to not mass produce, at the end of the day Disney like any other company is in it to make money...period. The other thing that we also need to understand is that we are spread out across both the whole of the UK and some parts of Europe and probably number less than 1000 collectors where other parts of Disney(theme parks and the states) can sell editions of 1000 in a very small amount of time with no reductions needed at all, this would make it much more profitable.

I know exactly what you mean by so many of the old members no longer posting and disappearing. I am one of those who disappears from time to time and I seldom post these days for the same reason you no longer want to post here.

You are super important to me, because I value every single word you say, and I know it is always the truth. I read what Tinker said about you, and should have said something on your behalf, because she seems to take great pride in insulting you and others. Every post here should not be about bragging about the pins you got and how you are going to sell them for huge profits, because it ends up upsetting those who did not get them. I find Tinker to be offensive most of the time, and I do know how many cannot stand her. I just thought like the others. Why bother posting after the ridiculous statements she makes, you know?

But know this, she is not worth another great member here leaving. I really miss the old crowd that had interesting things to say about pins and not all this silly crap. I am hopeful that this forum takes a turn for the best, but every time I look, there are a few people that create this terrible aura. So I may be late, but I am here for you, and will always have your back.

Well said, Maria. I sat back and read all the posts also and now that Vala and Anastasia (and others) are considering stepping away from the Forum, I feel terrible that I did not step up. I had hoped when we joined this Forum that it would be a place where the members joined together to support and help one another in a fun hobby. I tend to think of things in a naive way, I suppose, because though I didn't think it would be all "Pixie Dust" and "Magic", I never expected the verbal assaults that happen. We have met some wonderful people through this Forum (Selen, Laz, Debbie..etc) either in person or just through written word, and they have been FANTASTIC!! Vala and Anastasia are two of those people also. . We have lost many others (like Jabberwocky) that I miss seeing on the boards, and many others who appear only rarely. I have told several friends about the Forum to encourage them to join, and after some of the dramas they veiwed, have been embarrassed that I did. Let us all rethink what we say before we write it down. We should be asking ourselves if we are being helpful or just using the Forum to demean another person. This is supposed to be about sharing ideas, thoughts and primarily a hobby that we share for a love pin collecting.

I gave my explanation to Anatasia on how I got the pins ( even though she didn't ask ) I wanted her to know ! Would you like to see a picture of myself with the handicapped little boy ? I am getting those two pins for free because I have sent him many Peter Pan pins . And this is what Andrew's mother was told a Disney Store online UK cast member .

How old are you ? I can tell you how old I am, 55 . I am not a child . I am an educated pre school teacher with an associates degree in elementary K through 3rd grade . I am loved by my co workers and my children and I return that love .
My father in law just passed away Tuesday and my husband is taking it pretty darn hard .It hurts me to see him cry and here I am defending myself over a stupid piece of metal when my 2nd father is dead . Pretty Darn Silly !
I care about all of the members on this forum . I said a prayer for Judy this morning as I know she is having surgery .
If you feel I insulted or offended you or Antastia , I do apologize . This fighting over who gets pins and who doesn't is absolutely ridiculous . I would take it I'm getting my pins as I have not heard differently . I'm sure my friend would have contacted me , if I was not .

I don't know why you are ticked off that I got three pins when two of them are going to members here YES AT COST ! Starry-solo is one and the other I offered to gdbd4ever for a trade that did not go through . The other will stay in my curio until I can make a trade for one of my wants . Hopefully an UP pin .

I speak to Jabberwocky a lot as he is over on the other pin forum . We have no problem and never did . I remember him from dizpins .
