Thats why my friend Debbie is getting mine . Because she followed the rules . If the IP address was the same as you were using ... the same computer you used to order your pins, you forfeited your whole order . This is what she was told by a CM . This CM laughed about the greediness and that Disney UK has caught on to it . Or so they say !!! Who the he!! really knows . They are giving everyone a fair chance . The crashing is because, those that ordered 2 pins completed their orders and went right back to trying to order more from the same IP address . They give you an opportunity to get 2 pins, one to keep, one to trade . If you go against policy, they cancel your whole order .
The crashing problems have been going on for months. I can only assume you have never had anyone trying for the really popular stuff. Like anastasia has been saying this is complete rubbish.
It's been that bad that I had twice "thank you for your order" e-mails along with Paypal charges, but they never found the order in their systems because "it must have got lost because the system was so busy."
Yes, I have tried six times overall. 5 orders from the same computer, one from boyfriend's mom. Why? First try hung up at the address confirmation. Second hung up in the Paypal confirmation screen. Third told me my Paypal payment was denied. Fourth and fifth told me my credit card payment was denied. Rang boyfriend's mom, she tried with her card and got a payment confirmation on screen (her order number was 1200 higher than the one I eventually got by the way), but no e-mail ever showed up and she is not in the system again according to Disney Store.
Finally I had two e-mails for the hung up Paypal order and the supposedly denied one showing up after ten minutes.
So according to your logic I should be punished and lose all pins because Disney can't get stuff straight with their software? No, let me correct that. According to your logic I should have stopped after the first try and just prayed. Would you have done that if you even had orders denied with an order number?
All I wanted was one order through. If I had got more than one order in I would have given the pins to friends in the US just like some other posters had planned to do it - the list of friends that asked me to help was as long as my arm too, but I warned all of them that it was probably not going to work out, simply due to demand.
I find it kind of funny Tinker: you are insisting you are only helping your friends. But at the same time you are accusing everyone else who tried to get more than one order in for one reason or the other of "greed."
Disney confirmed that I have supposedly one order safe and everything else would be canceled meanwhile, which was all I was realistically aiming for: one order through. Thankfully they have apparently been leaving room for legitimate errors - I know I was not the only one with this problem. If I was mean I could say "They are suddenly enforcing a rule that was never enforced or even put in writing anywhere before. They can't cancel all double orders accidental or not, or the backlash would be even worse."
I was hoping I could help out some friends, but thankfully they have been very understanding that it wasn't possible.
If the CM was really "laughing at the greed" that's insanely bad customer service. We have all been complaining long enough to give them the chance to do something about their crap software, and THEY don't care. But of course it's the traders' fault that we all tried to order!
It's always been 2 per order. Believe me. I've had to place multiple orders in the past to get pins for friends that can't get onto the site (always at cost price to them). It's never been an issue before. The only reason it is now is because they messed up and too many were ordered.
Yes, it has always been two per order online. I have done the same with the last Rapunzel release and helped out a friend.
The US site DS.com even says exactly that "limited to two pins per order".
The UK site didn't phrase it that exactly, but they have always handled it that way.
At the parks I've sometimes seen the two per pin limit enforced for the more popular releases, and DSF seemed to enforce the 1 per person per LE 150 and 2 per person for LE 300 a lo in November. But even then only DSF ever stopped people from lining up again. POMH anyone?
I wasn't at D23, but I've heard that limits were enforced there. But even then according to what I have been told they did let people line up twice.Friends got in line again to get things they didn't realize had actually been released.
Tinker, it does look that you are just taking what the CM told your friend as a given fact, although UK traders are telling you that it has not been handled that way.
This is why Anastasia was "coming at you" and why she tried to explain the reality to you. Why do you always take this as personal attacks? It's a shame that you even tell her you are not interested in that "long explanation."
You should have got a hint from the last few UK releases us European traders were griping about here that this is an ongoing problem with the Disney website. It's Disney trying to cover their butt again and put the blame on the traders.
