2013 Fairytale Designer Collection
My store told me these last 2 designer sets will go fast because they have been asked by more people when they'll be out. When I went to get jasmine after work at 4:30 they only had 5 left and was shocked because when I went for rapunzel they had 16 left when I got off work. Good thing I requested oct 1 off and going to do my best on the Ariel release

I think Belle and Beast will be popular, just not as popular as Ariel and Eric. I admit too that when I first saw the pictures I was immediately put off, and Belle is my favorite along with Ariel, so it was very discouraging. However, seeing them in person really changed my view. Although Belle's yellow dress is possibly the most overdone outfit and there isn't much to do with it, she really did look elegant and much better than I anticipated from looking at the pictures. The Fairy-tale set was definitely the "embroidery set" because there wasn't much originality in costume design, besides lavish embroidery, for any of the gals, so the fact she is in her classic dress is about on par with the fact that essentially so is Snow, and to some extent Rapunzel. In my head I've given each doll "awards" and the BatB set was labeled "most unique" because it really is far and few between that you will be able to get a really lush set of Belle and Beast together, especially Beast. Look at his classic doll for instance, it is a basic small framed body with a pop on head, and that is all I've ever seen for him. For them to make him large in stature with such a finely sculpted head (it is REALLY nice in person, pictures don't do it justice... the different paint colors in the creases of his fur make him look spectacular) and give such attention to detail for him seems like a "once in a lifetime" opportunity, you know? I planned on getting the whole set regardless, because I don't want to regret not getting them a year from now if I have to pay double or triple, especially since BatB is one of my favorite Disney movies of all time. It just wouldn't seem right for me to skip them, even more so that Belle is one of the more popular princesses and might eventually be hard to find at a good price.

I had very good luck at the San Francisco store on Tuesday. I'm out of town so I was very happy that there was the SF store available. Huge and lovely store! I was very happy to get my Jasmine, plus they were kind enough to let me look at as many of the dolls as I needed to (which thankfully was only three). Going to miss it when I go back to San Diego.

From the beginning I wanted Rapunzel/Flynn, Jas/Al, and Belle/Beast (hoping Beast would look well like the Beast). After the Beast pics I was like oh no me no likey. And then after seeing Ariel/Eric ( not a TLM fan/doll colletor) I love them and plan on getting them though I don't collect her. I've seen the Beast in person and he had a gap in the back due to big head on small body lol. But uhm.. IDK, my sister is getting them and I can't help to wander what if she opens hers and I love them lol and I miss out. AHH decisions decisions!!

So she has just arrived and the longer lashes are tucked into her hair which is going to annoy me :cry:

So it looks like I'm gonna have to de box to make them look right - any tips? :anxious:

For those who have Jasmine & Aladdin does your Aladdin's feathers appear squashed at the top on the box? It's almost like he is too tall with his hat for the box.

I really dislike ordering online as you have no say over the state your dolls come in :(

- Yes the feather on top of Aladdin's turban does get squish a little by the plastic case. But for some reason it doesn't really bother me too much.

This surprised me :)

Today - just for curiosity- i've gone to my Milan Disney Store: they don't have any Snow White or Rapunzel (the girl of store say me they ship back to UK because they don't sell) but they had 5 Jasmin sets (of 10 arrived) , and in Milan 5 people had buy them!
:anxious:

They are pretty popular :naughty: I mean, they sold JUST one Tangled set, zeros snow whites and 5 Jasmine sets? :D

In person they're beautiful. Very romantic pose and colorful dresses.

I imagine for Belle and Ariel will be the same: they're popular in Italy! :)

Jasmine and Aladdin really do seem more popular. Is it that more people want this set? Or are more people becoming aware of the Fairytale collection?

I'm guessing it is a little bit of both...I saw a lot more unfamiliar faces at the Disney Store for Jasmine/Aladdin when I went to get mine. And I know my friend just became as obsessed with dolls because of me so she just started collecting. Her first purchase was Jasmine/Aladdin and she plans to get the rest of the set. It makes me a little more concerned about getting Ariel/Eric in store....I really want to get them in-store my CM's are wonderful about checking for QC!

My store said they sent back 4 Rapunzel sets because of quality issues. Mainly it sounded like her head was turned completely around. I'm thinking someone would jump at a chance to buy them if that was the only problem. It is so easy to remove the cover and move the head without affecting anything else. At least they are checking though. I would hate to have ended up with a doll that had dark stains on her dress or face.

I agree! I too was not so thrilled when pictures came out, but when I went in person to the DS, I fell in love with the set and Beast looks so much better than pictures do him justice. I am contemplating getting them. They look wonderful!
Seems all of the dolls look better in person. I think I am just going to get Belle/Beast.

You are really selling this set to me now. I think Ill get her. She is one of my faves. I would hate to miss out, see it in person, fall in love and have to pay way over original retail to get her off of ebay.

Thank you for the pics - it seems on my set the cardboard they stand on is a good half inch above the line where they should be so the feathers are quite squished :(

When you have a chance, go to your local DS and check the set out, they look amazing! My husband says they are the best set and he disliked them more than me when he first saw the pics online. I was not going to get them and now I want them. October 1st will be the end of us. Dollgeddon is near!

Even though I do like the Ariel and Eric set, I love the Beauty and the Beast Set. The Beast's coat is beautiful and I love Belle's Hair. I would be really upset if I couldn't get her! MAybe we should all start bad mouthing the last two sets so the dealers stalking the site will get nervous and buy fewer dolls.

I would think that if it was just an awareness thing, that people would buy the previously released dolls (if they were not sold out in the store). Like the person in Italy mentioned, maybe Jasmine is just more popular than Rapunzel and Snow. I am sure there is some increased popularity happening, but I think there's more to it than that as mentioned by MounterArcherPrincess.

update!!! Jasmine and aladdin are sold out on disney.com! A new record! 4 days!
Beat me to it. Sold out. My predictions have been pretty accurate. Many people thought Jasmine and Al would last at least a week. This is only proves Belle and Ariel will sell extremely fast. I highly doubt Ariel will last an entire day.
