2013 Fairytale Designer Collection
So sorry you got upset However, don't let others get in the way of what is important to you. If you want the dolls, get the dolls. That is amazing that that location has so many left considering how they have been flying off shelves. I guess the price in Scotland is a huge contributing factor as to why they have not sold out there. They are gorgeous dolls and if you are a doll collector or a fan of any of the dolls, make yourself happy and add them to your collection.

I am so sorry! People can be so mean. I bet they are just jealous because they cannot afford the dolls and wish that they could. I find that most people who complain about other people having expensive things do it out of envy. It's sad that they took their own insecurities and poor taste out on you. I think that you should buy the things that bring joy into your life and feel sorry for people like that. They definitely have less beauty in their lives. Hugs from across the ocean...

I agree with the other posters. No one has the right to make you feel ashamed about how you choose to spend YOUR money. If you like the dolls, buy them. I have Rapunzel/Flynn and Jasmine/Aladdin; they are gorgeous. I smile every time I look at them. Just ignore them. They probably are just jealous.

Don't let them get to you! I go through the same thing sometimes too, even with friends of mine. They don't see the point in a 19 year-old male spending $130 on a piece of plastic with a nice paint job and over-glorified fabric, but that is just because they don't understand. I could say the same things to them about stuff they collect, but I would be doing the same they do to me and that wouldn't solve anything. If the dolls are important to you, get them! Don't let others rain on your parade. Plus, you don't want to miss out on them when they eventually sell out and regret it! They matter to you, and that is all that should matter. Remember how Ariel felt? "Maybe he's right... maybe there is something the matter with me. I just don't see how a world that could make such wonderful things could be bad!"

I would have mouthed off.. Lol. Something like "we'll there limited collectibles and I have the extra money because I work hard and don't have credit card debit." i try never to charge dolls or things like that. And walk away with all the dolls I wanted.

I'm soooo excited...I was able to finally get the gold Snow and Prince at a price I was willing to pay for them I should have them next week sometime...I can't wait to finally see them

Aw I feel so silly now. I was already feeling sad as I had encountered some extremely rude people at Disney on Ice when I tried to buy the tangled flag, someone said they couldn't believe I was buying it for myself then this happened. I've missed out now as I won't be back in Glasgow for awhile.

Did anyone get the princess set from the last D23? I ordered the fairytale collection there since I wasn't sure how popular it was going to be, but after hearing so many different stories on shipping it's making me kind of nervous as to how mine set of dolls will be coming in. :anxious: lol

As with what everyone here says, don't let them get to you.
I am the same way with EVERYTHING. People now tend to save their money and then complain about how other people spend money. I'm a 19 year old guy in college and I get **** like that every day. I don't collect dolls, I collect Blu-Rays. Just to give you a comparison, a blu-ray here would cost me $20 or 12 British Pounds. Yeah, 12 compared to the 100 and I still get ****. Idiots around me constantly complain about Litereally EVERYTHING. Food, gas, even clothes! People don't understand The collectible value unfortunatly. I say go back and get that Jasmine doll! IMO it's the best looking in the entire set and you will def. regret not getting it. I once had a stupid girl shout out that I am rich because I was wearing a Ralph Lauren shirt.. Idiot, little did she know that I got that shirt for $30 on sale... One.. day.. one day.. I want to write a script for a movie about a Disney collector and include all of this on there. Arguing at D23 because of scalpers, people constantly complaing about the spending..

Isn't the doll still available online?

yes! what everyone else said! I'm 23 and I've been collecting disney products as well as marvel (i'm also a comic book junkie :naughty almost my whole life! it's dumb how people complain about money when we're the smart people who save up the money we work hard to get to want to spend on things we love. haha!

Yeah I agree with what everyone says here My parents and some of my friends aren't too thrilled with me collecting toys let alone dolls, but I still do it anyways just as long as I'm good with my money So if you can, go back and get those dolls and ignore those rude people. Don't let them cause you to miss out on a limited opportunity that most people wish they had.

This is always my response, "At least I'm not spending it on drugs and being a drain to society!" LOL, usually stops them in their tracks and I get a good laugh out of it! Who cares if you buy dolls? They are COLLECTIBLES, it is a hobby and a fun one at that. My great grandmother use to collect dolls (which is where I get it from) she even use to own a doll hospital! People would bring her their dolls if they needed them to be re-stringed, hair re-done or re-rooted, eyes replaced, just anything the doll needed! I thought that was awesome! Besides we all spend to much money on something we like whether it is clothes, purses, cars, etc. We just decided dolls are better!!

Thanks for the encouraging words guys. I don't buy from the uk disney store site anymore unless its pins as the amount of items that I've received have that arrived broken or battered boxes has put me off. Plus I'd rather choose my doll.

Haters gonna hate! One of my favorite quotes on this topic is from RuPaul "Other people's opinions of me, have nothing to do with me". You are doing something that makes you happy, and you are not hurting anyone. Some people are just so upset with their own miserable lives that they have to try to bring others down to their sad level. Don't let them get you down. I have friends that spend $300 on a pair of jeans or $60.000 on a car. And I don't get it, but hey if that is what they want, it makes them happy, and they can afford to do so I say go right ahead. Everyone has their thing. I didn't start collecting dolls until a few months ago, I always wanted to but was worried about what people would say of a guy collecting dolls (I am older and don't have children either). But finally I was just like "Who cares?!" I want them!

So much activity in the 17in LE thread, but so little here! Is anyone excited for Belle/Beast?! I am not a huge fan of the movie now, though I did love it growing up, but this Belle looks like the Once Upon a Time version (one of my fav characters in the show).

Who is going to try for them? I wasn't planning on it (for some reason or another I just haven't had the extra cash at the right times to pursue this collection yet, but now that I do I don't know if I want to "start late" in the game). I am leaning toward trying for her, IMO she is the best LE doll of the recent group including the 17in (too much going on, sold her), the original designer (too much going on, not going to try for her), and this couples version.

She is elegant and not too over the top, I also really love her face, which is the correct shade and not super dark like it has been on recent dolls (also her expression isn't angry like the recent classic dolls). Who else is going for this beauty?

That was another attributing factor for why I want this set! I'm a big fan of that series and when I saw that Belle's design had inspiration from Once Upon a Time I thought that was really cool!

I love this set. Belle has one of the prettiest faces of any Belle. I think, however, that Tonner does best Belle sculpt of all- time. I love the movie--one of my favorites--but I only own one Belle, the Animator Belle in blue dress. I am not a fan of the 17" LE or Designer Belle. The Fairytale Couple is just gorgeous. Even when people were dissing the sculpted Beast, I thought he looked great. The furry Beasts have always looked cheesy. So, yes, I am planning to buy this set and am excited about how close to release we are.

I am so, so hoping we see a line of either LE or high quality OUAT dolls in the near future. Snow and Belle in this line clearly took inspiration from the show, you can even see the clippings on the designers inspiration boards on the Disney Geek video. The recent Oz dolls were so good, I'm sure a OUAT line in the same style would be very successful.

The Tonner Belle is lovely. I gave up Tonners because it is too difficult to retroactively build a collection if you miss the first in a series. I also like the fashion scale better mostly.

This Beast really does look good, I was looking at photos of the Beast I had as a kid (the 90's Mattel version from when the film released) and he doesn't look great seeing it now. I do agree with others that he looks somewhat like an Easter bunny, but I am glad they made him as Beast and not the Prince.

------

I'll be honest here, I simply cannot fathom the fuss over Eric and Ursula when there are Designer Couples coming out. But that is just my personal thing, I'm a princess loving gal.

I know what you mean. It is rare to find a Tonner Belle on eBay. I've recently seen the 2nd ed Rapunzel with braided hair. I'd love to see what Tonner can do with Merida.

In this series Belle and Ariel are my hands down favorites. I personally like this Belle better than any previous designer or LE Belle. I also really like that there is a Beast Doll included that actually looks good. I did buy the other three sets, but I went back and forth prior to purchasing. They all turned out much more beautiful than the photos. This makes me super excited for Belle and Ariel. If already love them, I can only imagine how pleased I'll be with them in person. Also, I think there is more chatter in the LE posting because people are more nervous about Ursula and Eric because of their lower edition sizes and uniqueness. This page will likely go crazy the night before the Ariel/Eric set is released. Fun!!!

I have been thinking about the gift bags one receives with the Fairytale Couple doll sets. I have two and will most likely end up with four. Besides throwing them in the closet or actually using them as gift bags for birthdays and holidays, what are you guys doing with your bags? I thought I would keep one and then do something artsy with the others. Haven't figured out what.

They sit in my closet I thought about using them as scrapbook covers or for picture frames. I even thought about making cubes to place dolls at different levels on display and covering those cubes with the bags. It would be like a collage on the cubes, but it would look great if done really clean and neat. What are you thinking about doing?

The cube thing sounds interesting. I still have to figure out how to display these new dolls. I also collect Merida, and I have that collection on a bookcase in my bedroom. I dabbled with creating some type of candy wrapper bag using the gift bags, but I am not sure if I want to tangle with that. These gift bags are much prettier than the Designer Princess and Villains gift bags, that is for sure. A part of me feels guilty cutting them up, but they will just end up ripped or lost if I don't figure out what to do with them.

The one I keep, I may get that matted and framed. I didn't buy the lithographs, so this is close enough and takes up less space.

So if you are trying to get the Belle/Beast set tomorrow + Ursula or Eric, does that mean that you have to be at your store at opening for Ursula/Eric and then come back between 12p-1p for the Belle/Beast raffle? If so, tomorrow is going to be a long day.
