Congrats. I just got her a few weeks ago. She was my first too. She is easier to find, and not as much as some of of the others. Now I have to get Aurora, Belle and Ariel but those are all so expensive still. Maybe next year. The DFDC is breaking me now.
 
So my order finally arrived the other day. I bought Jasmine/Aladdin for a friend of mine, and they use a forwarding address. I didn't want to take any chances with Disney, so I asked the forwarding company to take extensive pictures of the set.. This is the first picture:

I think it's time Disney stops using UPS... Thank god the doll set turned out fine. But that state of that box is just jarring..
 
OMG! I cringed looking at this picture! So glad that the set was fine. Now I am even more worried about the condition we might receive our complete sets. This breaks my heart :(
 
Well. It did have the cardboard box that is exactly the size of the case.. but even that one was slightly damaged..

That's horrible...I've been lucky with my dolls so far, but I have had other Disney orders come with the boxes completely destroyed. You would think Disney would have done something by now to stop this from happening. I'm glad even with the damage to your box that your dolls were ok
 
Part of the problem is that the DS is not labeling their boxes. The majority of the things I have ordered are fragile and I have never seen a single fragile label on any of their boxes. Not that this would solve the problem, I have seen employees throwing boxes that say fragile right in front of me from at their shops, but it might help to some extent. The other problem, UPS throw their boxes. I happened to open the door one day at the precise moment that the UPS guy was "delivering" the box and I saw when he just threw the box on the ground. I was pretty mad because I had ordered like 6 classic dolls and 2 of the dolls packaging was bent because of this. They simply don't care. Very sad and frustrating.
 
Yes they are going to send me another doll, they've asked for pictures so I've sent them over and will see how they want the other doll returned. I'll try and post them up on here for you guys to see.

I posted a couple of pages back about rubbish packaging! I agree they should just put fragile on all boxes but I'm not sure it would make a massive difference. I can't believe the doll above was not damaged looking at that box!!!

Littlemermaidariel i had exactly the same thing, I saw the delivery driver pull up. I started doing a little dance in my living room as I was so excited but then I heard a loud bang and I just knew they had chucked the box on the floor. My heart was in my mouth! So rest assured we get exactly the same problems in the UK!

oh and and other rant I never received my free gift bag after either!

My Elinor/Merida set arrived with huge cut gashes in the box which went all the way through to the doll box. I did get a replacement, but I really wonder what happened to them.
 
I'm soooo disappointed I missed the jasmine/Aladdin set. I was in Disney world and just spaced on it.
 
It's amazing that there wasn't any damage to the hard plastic case after seeing how crushed the box was. Wow. I've been very lucky that my UPS drivers don't sling things down.
 
My UPS guy is notorious for leaving packages out in the weather instead on my covered porch. We have snow 7 months of the year so this often means that boxes are left right on to of snow with snow falling on top of them. I had a wet designer Ursula last year, but the water only went through one layer of boxes. My Jasmine is not here yet and I am getting pretty nervous!
 
Hey guys! I have a question for everyone! I actually did the pre-order for the Designer dolls set but I've also been going to the store and getting them. SO I was planning on canceling my order since I'm pretty sure I will have no trouble obtaining the last two dolls BUT I wanted to know if anyone was interested first. I have someone who wants Snow White/Prince and Rapunzel/Eugene. The other three dolls are up for grabs. PM me if you are interested, if I don't find any takers for the other three dolls then I will probably cancel my order since I can't afford to have two sets of these dolls. Remember, I have Jasmine/Aladdin, Belle/Beast, and Ariel/Eric up for grabs!
 
Ok quick update: So out of the pre-order set of designer dolls, the only couples I have left to find homes for are Jasmine/Aladdin and Belle/Beast. Send me a pm if you are looking for these two! They will be retail plus shipping!
 
I could be entirely wrong about this, however I've found through lots of doll trading and shipping that items I receive from USPS are almost always in better condition than items from UPS. FedEx items, while they do arrive slower, also usually arrive in better condition for me as well. It's really a shame because all of these items are not just expensive but they're of a special value.
 
When I used to live in the lower part of Michigan, our UPS guy was actually really nice, and took really good care of the things I bought.
When Christmas time would come around, I would go nuts at the Disney store and buy a bunch of stuff. Of course coming in a two large
boxes, and I sometimes wouldn't be home. & around my area people would steal your packages from your doorstep without a second thought.
He would take our door mat and put my packages under it if the package wasn't that large or, he would hide a note for me, and put my packages in
a hidden spot so no one would steal them. To me that was him going out of his way, to be a kind person. Now that I've moved I haven't been so lucky.
I too in fact have gotten dented Disney store boxes and careless UPS employee's throwing my stuff around.
 
Just to let any Scots looking for these dolls the Glasgow store had 6 Jas and Al, 8 Snow and her prince and 8 Rapunzel and Flynn. Then there was 2 of each doll out on display as well. However while I was debating on getting Jas and Aladdin or Rapunzel and Flynn there was ALOT of people complaining about the price and someone even said to me I must be mad to want to spend £100 on dolls. I tried to explain that they were beautiful COLLECTIBLES but got laughed at and was told that they were just silly overpriced dolls. I ended up just leaving with no dolls as I was too upset.
