2013 Fairytale Designer Collection
I agree about the pin stuff too. VERY addicting (especially with the DSF stuff) so I'm taking a break from that and focus on the other side of Disney LE merchandise! Looking forward to finally getting Rapunzel and Flynn! Just hope they're both alright once in hand. POST 300!!

Hopefully Ariel and Eric sell out at a reasonable time and not 30 minutes like the LE Ursula and Eric. I'm sure that the link fairies will help collecors out and save our souls from the sharks!
Fingers crossed!! Good luck!

Good luck! I wish I had someone to take with me to double my chances. Problem is the store is like an hour away, so its hard to wrangle up people in the middle of the day on a Tuesday to drive down there. Its not like they can go on their lunch breaks with me.

I don't know if this question has been asked yet..what is a good time to go to the Disney store for the dolls? I really want to see if I have a chance at getting Ariel/Erick at the store.
Seems mostly the raffle starts at 12. You can put your name in from 12 to 1. Then they call out the names at 1. I heard that you if you get there before 12 they wont take your name. So getting there when they open wont really help you out. Im hoping to get there on Tuesday by 12:30. Im going to be cutting it close I know.

I am glad they are the same size as it's easier to display them along with the 2011 set.

Everyone on here that starts out with a small
pin collection ends up addicted!
I started collecting pins YEARS ago and have a few. Then we stopped and got in Vinylmations. The only Vinyls Ive bought in the past year have been the TLM set. They havent been making a ton of Vinyls in the last year or two that I really love. Then I started doll collecting about a year ago. So I have a little bit of everything.

I think Im going to keep adding to my Pin Collection and Vinyl Collection here and there, but dolls are going to be my main collection of Disney stuff. Im also thinking about starting to collect the snow globes. I need to get a job at Disney and just give them my paycheck back each week.

Oh the pins, when you get into pins you will be hooked from the moment you start. I told myself I would never get in too deep, after the fist time of pin trading I was hooked. Then it became a mission to collect them, specifically The Little Mermaid. I collect anything that catches my eye really, but the princesses are my main focus with Ariel right at the top and a couple of years later, I have over 500 pins including what are considered by some as grail pins. I am very proud of my collection, but it is a very costly habit. Luckily for me the majority of the pins I have, including the harder ones to get, were all purchased way before they went up in value, so I did not buy them at outrageous prices.

I do have some TLM pins. I need to get some Belle and Rapunzel ones. I will probably just buy them as I see them in the parks.

500 Oh WoW! How do you keep them?

I'm a serious pin noob and I hope this doesn't come across as rude - I just had a look on eBay for the 2011 designer doll pins and they go for like $300 yikes! Are they really worth that much!?

Ive seen a lot about vinyls but we don't seem to get a lot of them over here they are very cool though.

Oh and I take blame for this thread going wayyyyy OT!

I also have dabbled in pin trading. I was an avid pin collector at the age of 12 from about 2006-2009 (it was a hobby I did with my mother back when she still had an annual pass) and have a lot of great pins. I did the pin events (Where Dreams HapPin, PTU) and have a lot of those that are almost impossible to come by now, along with when The Haunted Mansion reopened. We also made friends with someone at Disneyland and would trade with each other, I got a lot of NBC pins from DSF that way. My mom is really into pirates, and we even have the LE 100 Pirate Codex book. We stopped because we couldn't renew our passes one year because of financial problems. Now however, I bought my own pass and was hoping to get back into it but it has changed... It seems like the parks focus on Vinyls now (which, I'm sorry... I just really don't like except for a few but ONLY due to them being favorite characters) and pin trading is starting to go by the wayside a bit. To me, the concepts just seem to be suffering which is really a pity. My doll collection started past year with the designer villain collection. I really liked the look of Maleficent and Cruella the most and originally planned on just getting those two... But as most of you probably understand the collector mentality, I got one and just had to have the others. I specifically remember justifying each one with something different until I just accepted I like collecting Disney Dolls! I then was able to get the original Rapunzel and Aurora and was hoping to get others by now, but then I had to save for the line this year. I don't have real room to display them all right now in my home, but I hope to move to an apartment in Orlando next fall and they will be proudly on display! I keep wanting to get into the 17" collection, but my wallet would cry... For now I have all of TLM and need to focus on the designers. The more I look at them though, I almost want to trade Ursula and Eric for other 17" dolls because I don't like how some have villains and now a prince, while others don't. I'm toying around with perhaps trading them for other princesses but can't decide yet! And this ends my long winded rant.

...and my Doll Set pre-order has now had a shipping label printed for it! If it actually ships out by tomorrow evening, I should receive it on October 15th, based on how long it typically takes things to get to California from the Tennessee warehouse...

Oh, and the 5 DFDC gift bags seem to be shipping separately.

Wow really? That quick? I was not expecting the labels to be printed so quickly, gosh I wish I could check the status of mine. But i guess I will just have to wait until I receive the email with the shipping details. Which should be soon then if your label has been printed. Has your status changed to closed and added the tracking details?

I just got my "Blast Off" emails too! I'm really hoping the set will arrive at the shipping depot in the states I'm having them sent to by next Wednesday or I'll have to wait another week after that to pick the packages up. Americans, is Monday a holiday for you guys too, in that no mail service/UPS deliveries will be made? I know it's Columbus Day but I don't know if that's one of the holidays those types of services close down for. I guess I'll check my tracking number tomorrow and hope it's been updated with an estimated delivery date. Crossing my fingers!!

And OUCH MY CREDIT CARD :eek2:

Monday is a postal holiday here in the US, so no mail delivery. Did anyone on here have their designer dolls shipped USPS with no tracking? Mine is coming that way but there is no updated tracking info. I'd just like to hear if they arrived safely!

I keep them in pin bags, but I am hoping to create a custom Little Mermaid board for My Little Mermaid collection. I have seen some beautiful custom creations that have left me in awe. Hopefully I can take on that task in the near future.

@Tinkerboy, I have a couple of Belle & Rapunzel pins too. Belle has some gorgeous pins. Rapunzel pins have been harder to acquire and I have very few of her, however she is fairly new, so the amount of pins that have been created for her is understandable.

@agrimmending, My husband collects pirates and villains. He has some pretty neat pins. The only problem is we tend to fight over the Ursula's. I want them for my Little Mermaid collection and he wants them for his villains, its quite funny, lol.

that's so cool! do you have any links or pictures to some good examples, I'm looking to start doing the same.

Our order is on there way now too!
So happy that they are finally on there way!

Hi Lady Ariel, was yours an online order or an expo order? Just wondering if they are doing the online orders first and then the expo ones as i havent received my shipping email yet.

I ordered online and still don't have tracking info...I really would like to know how they process it lol

I got mine at the expo, and my order was already processed...25 lbs!!oh wow! haha :anxious:

Yeah by the sounds of it they must just be processing orders and there is no real order, hopefully mine will ship tomorrow. Wow 25lbs, im glad its just 25lbs was expecting more, at least that will mean that getting it shipped to me here in Australia wont be too bad! LOL

Yeah! my cousin ordered her's online and it's processing so I guess they did the expo people first? (just my guess, i could be wrong) I got 2 tracking numbers and the first one was the bags and I was like wait..only 2 pounds?! then I realized it was the bags!! haha!! I'm becoming nervous as to how it'll be arriving :hs:

Nah I got mine from the expo as well and Shiva got theirs online and their order has shipped as well so by the sounds of it it would just be random, oh well will just have to wait until tomorrow!

Since you got yours at the expo as well were you able to check the status of yours online? or did they just send you the email telling you that your order has been shipped?

I got mine at the expo and with the email they sent there is an order number and just got to order tracking on ds.com and fill out the info and that's where it should be

Ive tried that but it just comes up with an error page. I think maybe one of the details I am entering is wrong as I contacted Disney Store and they said my order is still up and running and is currently processing? But thanks for the info, I will keep trying other combinations.

I hope all goes well for your order, especially since it is shipping all the way to Australia. I am sure all of the pre-orders are processing at the same time, since their number has got to be only in the hundreds based on the Expo and very limited online sales. Also, they should already be packed in their cartons and pretty much ready to go.

Thanks Shiva, I am a little nervous about the travel time, but they are going to a forwarding company first and based on the weight mentioned earlier by ahn_dray_uh (I love that username!) of 25lbs it will cost me about $140 to have it shipped to me, which is the cost of another doll but to be honest is much cheaper than paying $70 per doll for shipping.

I still havent received the "your order is on its way" email but I have been told by Disney that it is all good and they are still processing it, so I would imagine that it should be out by tomorrow, if not I will be back onto Disney to see what is going on haha. By the sounds of it I am not the only one who is still waiting on my order to be shipped as well. I would be devastated if my order were to fall through due to not having any back ups and it would mean I need to get them all on the secondary market (except for Ariel) which would cost me probably double what I paid for them at the expo plus shipping, so i am trying to keep positive and will just check my emails like a mad man tomorrow haha.

Also I have been trying to check the status of my expo order online and it still doesnt work, it asks for the order number and your details and I entered these as it appears on my email confirmation and it still doesnt work. By the sounds of it I am the only one having this issue hence why I called up Disney but they said everything is still fine. So I wont freak out just yet...

I just wish they would all arrive already so that I can put them up on display and take photos of them. I was at Ikea last weekend looking for new shelves so that I have somewhere to put them, my partner was very supportive and whilst I was looking at the cheaper ones he kept telling me to at least get something nice LOL
