My DS, had rapunzels heard turned straight on....I really wish that they would have put Eugene on the other side.....I will be trying to rearrange him in there so he can be seen....If I have, I will take them out of the box and fix it so its the way I want them to lookIs anyone else, willing to remove them from their box to get the pose more esthetically pleasing?
I have a question I've been curious about this all day.
someone told me the designer princess dolls had shared head sculpts but i forget who it was. Snow, belle, aurora, ariel, cinderella? jasmine too or no?
also do the villains share head sculpts at all?
i think if any did it would be cruella maleficent and evil queen grimhilde. I'm not sure about the Queen of hearts. who shares sculpts if they do?
Also do any of the princesses share sculpts in the DFDC line?
thanks

I'm starting to think that most of the people who wanted the Designer dolls already bought the original set and these are just not going to be as popular at the price point. I do think Ariel will sell well, because she always does.
Scalpers aren't going to be able to make a decent amount of money here either, because they will have to invest $130 just to get started per doll. I bought my Rapunzel for $125 with shipping included earlier this year, and after watching the original set for most of this and last year, while there were prices fluctuations, most of the dolls could be found for under $160 easily. I also noticed that the prices are dropping for all but Aurora and Jasmine. Ariel is actually dropping compared to what she was going for at one point (please note this is as of spring of this year, I haven't been looking for the original set since then).
I just don't see people being willing to spend double or so ($260-$300) each for dolls that are clearly meant to be in a set. With the 17in you can get one and wait for the next film if you like it, there are usually no more than 2-3 per movie. Ebay prices for Gold Snow already seem to be calming down a bit.
I'm not saying it will be as easy as the villains, but dollmageddon happened because they were comparatively cheap and no one expected it - those two factors are not here this year. So at most I think we will see these as similar to how the 17ins go n the after market. Just like 17in Snow, she was the first in a new series so she is sought after because people didn't know, like the original Designer Ariel. Now that we know how it works it won't be getting insane and hyped the same way. Remember, people love new, new things ya'll.
Totally agree!
Plus, some "defects" (positions in box, low quality control) make the price even more "hard" to accept. :nono:
I still once they sell out they will go for more than retail on ebay, but probably not lots more like the craze.
I'm actually somewhat glad I missed the original ten because now I have room for this set. I think I prefer the romantic embroidery style to the designer couture runway look of the first set. I'm a sucker for anything with embroidery. Plus, in my opinion these dolls are more detailed than the last set and more detailed even than some (not all) of the 17" dolls. I could do without the princes, but now that I've seen them in person I like them as a couple.
My only complaint is Eugene's positioning behind Rapunzel. It is terrible. Even aside from the bad placement, his arm around her waist looks very awkward too. Like he is trying to save her from falling out of the boat. Or possessively trying to prevent her from chasing after the lantern.
I also don't like the gap of the beast's head. Is there a prince under it like a mask or is there nothing but a stick and air under there?
I liked Designer Belle's dress. I thought she was one of the most artistic looking versions of the princesses. Some others didn't go far enough into couture, but at least she was unusually fabulous.
The 2011 Designer Princess dolls all definitely have their own head sculpts. Designer Cinderella and Designer Aurora may look most similar at a glance (perhaps also because they are both blondes with updos), but Aurora has sharper features, particularly with her nose and chin, and Cinderella generally has rounder features. The differences are more visibly noticeable in profile.
The Designer Villains dolls have unique head sculpts, though at a glance, Maleficent, Queen Grimhilde, and Cruella de Vil may seem similar. Designer Cruella de Vil has a more pronounced jawline and cheekbones, plus her nose is slightly turned up at the end. Designer Queen Grimhilde has a more prominent brow. Designer Maleficent was given a slightly longer chin and her mouth is sculpted into a smile, whereas the other two are not smiling at all. Designer Queen Grimhilde and Designer Maleficent have the most similar head sculpts, but there are subtle differences. The Designer Queen of Hearts, Designer Ursula, and Designer Mother Gothel have very distinct and unique head sculpts.

Thank you so much for answering this question for me. I love that the villains have headsculpts that are different it shows that disney really makes them all unique in their own way.Now i can see that they are different thank you so much for the pictures. on a side note I love how aurora snow and cinderella are the only ones with white gloves and short lashes.
