2018 Hidden Mickey Release Watch

I have been at WDW for over a week and saw only EPCOT pins, until yesterday. Found all these at various parks from all kinds of cast members. Most have gotten a new supply

Currently visiting WDW and came across this pin, a completer pin in a 2 pin mystery pack, but can't find what set it relates to, can someone help out a newbie please?

The 2015 Costume pins were from Hollywood Studios, so it's definitely from there. I'm thinking it's the gangster costume from the Great Movie Ride?

But good to know the new Hidden Mickey mystery packs are at WDW. What color was the package?

That's so helpful, thanks so much, I bought 2 packs and got a Toy Story Mania CM HM and didn't cop that the set was based in Hollywood Studios.

The packs were pink, I bought one at Mickey Star Traders and also at the Emporium but I'm sure they're all over.

At last night's WDW Pin Trading night I talked to a Cast Member specifically about Hidden Mickeys and here is what she had to say. But keep in mind it is Disney so this could change at any time:
1. The white mystery bags currently being found at Disneyland will be available at WDW "shortly". These are how they'll be doing completer pins from now on.
2. The second wave for 2018 will be releasing "around September" ... and she said this next wave looked amazing.
3. This is the big one ... Starting in January of 2019 they are going to start releasing Hidden Mickey waves QUARTERLY! I asked her three times about this because I thought I heard wrong. But yes, she said in 2019 (and hopefully going forward) there will 4 Waves of Hidden Mickey Pins per year. With each wave having five collections like they do now.

She also told me that much of this has to do with "making up" for the state of Hidden Mickey collecting over the past couple of years. And it sounds like they're making up for it in a huge way!

They have to explain why they haven't released any earlier , so I predict the excuse would be to make/share Disney Magic on anniv
That way all the suits that wear lanyards will have people coming up to trade with them! At the 60th when I noticed a mgr walking w/lanyard, and I saw what was on his lanyard, he was surprised people wanted to trade! He had some GREAT pins, and he didn't know it.

It wouldn't take long for the 1/2 year supply to be gone.
(Disclosure-these are MY thoughts only, I have NO Inside info! If you go, just celebrate the anniv and don't get upset if you don't find any, OK?)

Ok, so the new info for DLR HMs .......drum roll please.....there aren't any for DLR. Supposedly there's no absolute info on what happened. But if they ever find them then we'll see them.

Maybe a lesson in releasing the pins on schedule, so they don't get lost.

I pulled this HM from a board today at DLR. I just find it weird that a WDW HM would make its way here and be traded to a board.

And the official trading logo looks like it says 2017 or 2011. And the 1 of 5 print looks off.

What do you guys think?

The border looks off too. Strange maybe someone from wdw traded it. I doubt its faked as we'd see so many out there already

Yea I know Disney’s QC is hit or miss but the miss print on the official logo is what threw me off.

I don't like that border... but very hard to tell from a photo.
Supposedly DLR cast members received the WDW 2017 HM... the LK paws and dog bones, so it is possible this pin originated from DLR. Maybe this is Disney trying to make up for DLR losing their HM pins... although why not just order more of the lost pins? So odd.

I'd say you definitely have a fake there. The texture of the metal on the back is a pretty dead giveaway, even if the text and the border aren't. :/

I'm leaning on fake too. Here's a picture of one I snagged early on. The thickness of the lettering is definitely different, and as others have said, the texture is definitely not the same.

I know that Disney no longer produces a hidden Mickey checklist, but has anyone seen the new WDW hidden mickeys on a white background. Has anyone made up a checklist that they would like to share? All I can find is the picture taken at Disney Pin Traders. Thanks

I was really hoping they aren't faked yet. I'm going to wdw in November and was hoping to get all the stitch ones. Hopefully not all faked yet
