I know this ahould probably go in the "Anything Goes" section, and am sorry for misposting, but more people look here!

I may not be on often for a while! The wildfire hit the city of Colorado Springs yesterday (I am sure many have seen on the news) and burned homes and other structures; the Flying W Ranch is gone! My heart and prayers go out to all those who have lost their homes or are currently at risk!!! Also with all those working to save our city! Then there are also many, like myself, who are not able to go to work because of mandatory evacuations and are out their paychecks! Not sure how bills will get paid now, ugh! The fire grew from just over 5,000 acres yesterday morning at 8a.m. to over 15,000 acres by 8a.m. this morning!!! :eek2: Because of weather conditions, officials are saying it may be hard to fight and is expected to grow more over the next few days to a week! They don't know when they will be able to gain control and are saying this will burn for weeks to come (I am praying not)! Approximately 32,500 have been evacuated just on the Colorado Springs side of the fire!!! Yikes! We are prepared to go if told we need to get out! If you would like to see pictures, google Waldo Canyon Fire or go to krdo.com! Thanks for all your thoughts, prayers and support!!!

Nsingleton, I hope you can be free of this terrible fire. I've been watching CNN reports. Take care. You may want to gather all your important belongings now if you haven't already just in case. Keep us posted.

Nsingleton -- Sorry to hear that you are in the thick of it. We are closer to the Flagstaff fire near Boulder, so we might be in the same boat as you soon. News of the Flying W broke our hearts.
I hope you are spared any further pain. Please do take care of yourself!

Wow buddy... I am soo sorry to hear about all this devistation... Do what you need to do so that you stay safe and we will all be here when you get time to be back on here... Everyones thoughts and prayers are with you...

Since we are newer to CO, we never went to the Flying W; it sounds like we missed out. We aren't in danger of any fire evacuations being in the Denver metro area. But we live on the top of a hill, so when we go out to Wadsworth, the smoke billows over Flagstaff as if it were an active volcano. The pictures coming out of the Springs are horrible. Fire is my biggest fear. It is a terrible, terrible fire season.

I'm originally from Colorado (Pueblo) Nsingleton. My mom was keeping me updated because we were literally in Manitou at the beginning of the month. It's so awful. I know we get fires there all the time, but this year has been ridiculous, especially with the loss of homes. This is getting to be worse than the fires in 2002.

My family's and my thoughts are with you all out there hoping for some relief for you all!

Oh my goodness, stay safe! My girlfriend is originally from Colorado Springs and our thoughts are with everyone out there.

I can't imagine what you are going thru but my prayers are with all of you affected by and working to extinguish these life changing fires!

Sending lost of prayers and pixie dust to you and all those who are suffering. Having lost my childhood home to fire I know how devastating it can be to lose everything. At least you have some warning and can take some of your most precious things with you, like pets (we lost our dog) and pictures. And for heaven's sake, don't forget your pins

Oh man, I know how it feels. A couple of years ago we go evacuated here in Anaheim Hills and it was torture waiting to hear if your house was OK or not. Thankfully we were OK, but 3 houses burned down on our street and several more in the neighborhood. Hang in there. I'm hoping for the best for you.

Thank you all SO very much! My family and I are safe as of now, and prepared to go as much as possible if we get the word! My prayers are with all those who have lost or are at risk of losing their homes!!! Also with those of you dealing with these fires near Boulder and anywhere else in the country! Also praying for all those out fighting these monsters! The FBI is now investigating the cause of the fire! You are all wonderful and amazing!!! Thank you! I am going to share all your magic and pixie dust with all those I can here!!! They are estimating 18,500 acres as of now, so a little slower growth thank goodness! I haven't slept much, so hopefully I am making sense, ha ha! Again, thank you all, and be safe wherever you are tonight!

Also, I am sorry to hear others have dealt with the destruction and devastation of a fire in the past! It is so sad to hear, no matter how long ago it was in the past!!!

Just saw your post. I'm so sorry for all your worry and strife at this time!!! I've seen many of the reports of the fires on the news and it looks so horrible. Please stay safe. That goes for all the members here in any danger. Good thoughts and continuous prayers are a promise. I so hope that there is much relief very soon!!!

Living in SoCal, I'm no stranger to fires or fire season. Just a few years ago, I, too, was under mandatory evacuation as fires tore through the area and I could do nothing but wonder whether I still would have a home when they finally were extinguished so I completely understand how you feel and what you are going through.

I'm sending tons of prayers and pixie dust to you, your family, and everyone who is in harms way - especially the firefighters and police who are risking their lives to keep everyone safe. Whatever happens, stay safe; remember that personal property can be replaced, but people and pets can't (that's how I looked at it a few years ago). Take care and please try to check in from time to time (whenever you can) so we'll know that you're okay.

You are all so wonderful, thank you SO much again! All the kind words are very much appreciated it some stressful times, lol! Well a little bit of good news today!!! Though theykeep telling us we are not out of the woods yet, but I think most people already feel that way! I know I won't feel TOTALLY safe until the fire is completely OUT, but I feel safer than the past few days!!! They have lifted some of the evacs, so I am able to return to work Monday, thank goodness! They are saying the fire is 35% contained now and has been reduced now to 17,000 acres burning; some WONDERFUL things to hear! It doesn't seem to be threatening the city directly anymore! Thank you for all the thoughts, prayers and pixie dust magic, they seem to be working! I am so pleased to be a part of this spectacular family! Thank you all so much!!! Also wanna give a GIANT thank you to Goofy_Moe and his wife for my EXTRAORDINARY two pin zap!!!! I will be posting a full public thank you thread later today as time allows; I have my niece! :hsd: And you will see why I am SO giddy :wiggle: about my zap when I post the pics!!!! Thanks guys for brightening this day even more!!!
