Not sure if this has been asked before or if not, would be intersting to see how it stands now. For your collection, are you a completist? Do you have to get every pin for the subject you collect? Do you just get the ones you like? Just get the ones you can easily obtain?

I am for Jessica Rabbit, and boy, was that a mistake!

It was a goal for myself after the 2007 pin event, when I was feeling a bit adrift with my trading direction. I had no idea when I set the goal how hard (and expensive) it was going to be!

Pro-tip: do your research before setting goals!

Fortunately, I'm pretty much done with that now, after achieving it in 2012.

I would be insane to attempt Tinker Bell, and I don't like enough of the other pins in the fields I collect to be a completionist. Except Duffy- I am considering doing so for him.

I am for most of my collections, others I'm not so aggressive about. Some I'm willing to take the AP/PP/etc if I can get my hands on them.

I will take a duplicate of the same pin if the backstamp is different (sans year) if that says anything. Even pins that have the *exact* same artwork, I will take them all...

I am not a completist. I collect the Snow White and Pocahontas pins I like. Some of the pins are the same and some are just ugly. My Snow White collection will be much bigger than my Pocahontas collection because there are more pins. I do plan on being a completist when it comes to the "painting the roses red" pins but there is like 7 of them. So I think it will be a pretty attainable goal in the future.

I am a completist, but I am not a "need it now" person. So the HTF, the expensive and the ugly are more on the continual "ten year plan."

I can't afford to be a completist-- my sanity wouldn't last! One day I would love to have all the Carousel of Progress pins, since there aren't that many, but my main collections would be pretty near impossible to complete. Also, I have a horrible habit of continually starting side collections. I get distracted easily.

Were I a true completist, I would be completely bonkers (pun intended) by now...oh wait, maybe I am because I am still slightly obsessed with collecting these shiny little pieces of metal. I do not, however, have to have every last one of anything in particular, with the possible exception of series that have a limited run, such as Zodiac series or Epcot Stamps. As long as there is an end to the series, and I have part of it, I will try to eventually finish it if I can, but it is never a rush, I have patience. And yes, some of those types that are not that appealing are on the "never never plan". lol

I really wish I wasn't so much of a completist! I HAVE TO HAVE all the pins in a set even if I don't like them! I'm a little pathetic, I know.

And now that I just started a new collection of PTD pins, I could be in real trouble!

not really, there are some herc pins that are so ugly I don't want them in my collection, I also tend not to chase pins with the same artwork over and over, I just get the easiest version of it xD but if they are not ugly or all the same then yes xD

I am so damn close to being an actual completest with my Hall of Presidents collection. I have only this pin left
and it has been in three pending trades that fell through I am trying to be a completest for Philharmagic pins as well. However, I only collect pins I like for Fantasia since there are 800 or so choices and some of them are just ugly...

You know how long I debated when SitS PODM came out if I wanted only one with Archimedes in it, or EVERY SINGLE ONE WITH ARCHIMEDES I CAN GET MY HANDS ON!!!! ... I have 7 right now. Debating if I need more, or less....

I tell myself I'm not a completist but secretly I want all the pins made for my collections Lol
So far I'm missing 1 Wreck it Ralph pin, otherwise I'm not close with my other collections.

I know someone that is thrilled they never did a PODM with their character on it since they are super completest and would consider each one a different pin and would need the entire edition size...

I'm a combination of #2 and #3... I have my Jules Verne collection, but I don't want to collect EVERY pin having to do with 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Mysterious Island or Discoveryland. My first limit was that (for the most part) I only wanted the pins with Mickey and Co. on them. That was a practical limitation but also because I happen to like the novel combination of Disney's live-action and animation (I LOVE how the 20,000 Leagues ride in Tokyo has very cartoonish creatures in it). From there I only get ones I like - there are a few ugly ones I don't care for - and I especially like sets that give me a finite goal. So, for example, I have two complete sets: one Gold Card set with Mickey and Co. as characters from 20,000 Leagues and another LE set with all the characters in diving suits. I also have all three Mysterious Island-related pins from a the TDR Monthly Pin Collection and I'm looking forward to getting the Discoveryland-related pins from the new DLP Attraction Series. I like to keep things as narrow as I can to keep my spending in check.

Also, I have a horrible habit of continually starting side collections. I get distracted easily.

I thought I was the only one! I was going to originally stick to just having 2 collections... However, I started having side collections of my favorite movies and characters. So that went out the window pretty quickly

Yup. One of the reasons I'm so glad a lot of my collections are so obscure. Soooo thankful I didn't have to endure that more than once. I'm at the point where if it's a significant change in stature, or from a different angle, I want it.

I am a completest, and trying to complete my few collections.

My main two collections are ...

Tangled- I know we can all start laughing at my goal right now, but Tangled means so much to me, the movie changed my life. So, I had to start collecting her. I started collecting her merchandise then I found her pins and I fell in love with the pin community. Here are the last pins I need...

Brave- I am so close to completing this collection!! Well, until new pins are released. HA, I only need about 10 more regular pins. I am trying to trade for the two known prototypes and Artist Proof pins... and some buttons!! Here are the last Brave pins I need...

My other collections are ...

Pixie Hollow Faries- This is my side project I started working on! I love this collection so much! There are a lot of pins for this collection, so I am taking it slow- one pin at a time, or whatever comes up to trade I will try for it.

Monsters Inc- WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN?!!? There are SO many pins... Most are the same exact poses, and what not... but I added them all to my wants list because you never know what will come up for trade! I do not think I will EVER complete this collection, but it gives me something else to collect... PLUS! I love the movie so much. My boyfriend and I are always singing "Put that thing back where it came from" haha!!

Duffy- I am only collecting the HM heads because they are so cute!!!

Tokyo Sweet Love Pins- Once a year for Valentines day these pins are released at TDL! I only need a few more and I will have them all! yay!

I am a total completist. I also need to learn patience! I want to start collecting BT's and I have a feeling that's going to teach me patience better than anything else, except maybe collecting Tangled.

I don't mind trying to complete sets that have only 6 pins or so. I am contemplating on whether or not I want to obtain all the Enchanted pins though. There aren't as many pins for Enchanted but there are some pretty tough pins in that set to get. I'm going to do it...woo hoo!
