So I posted on the Disney Facebook page and this is the reply they just sent -

We are delighted to hear that there are so many fans of Ariel! This Pin was designed and developed as a D23 exclusive, of edition size 300, and we have been lucky enough to get hold of 50 pieces for our European collectors. In Europe, the Little Mermaid boxed Pin will be an online exclusive priced at £25/€30, and so that as many of our Guests as possible have the opportunity to purchase it, there will be a limit of one per Guest and two per household. It will be made available on our European Online Stores at approximately 8am on Tuesday 20th August – we wish you all the best in adding it to your collection!

So after all the hassle it was D23 item more so than anything else, maybe there will be 50 on disneystore.com as if people said 200 were sold at D23 then 50 for Europe is a little less than we were hoping so only reason for 50 I think is US site might get 50.

I would say there is no point in even having them online at all to be quite frank.
 
OMG, 50?!?!?! That is absolutely insane! I totally agree with you. What's the point of even doing that? They'll end up having to cancel a ton of orders that manage to process before the system updates to sold out. Wow. And what the heck are they talking about with "so as many of our Guests as possible have the opportunity to purchase it"? They just gave you a number. 50. For the whole of Europe. That's nowhere near "as many...as possible". Ugh!
 
50 will last all of a minute lol, that's not many for the whole of europe. Good luck to everyone trying though. I don't think this is the best release to attempt for my first LE online release.

Good news for the US, I am pretty sure that they will have 50 for sale on DS.com... It's better than nothing but it will be impossible to have one in Europe, really only 50 with at least 2 websites (UK,FR and maybe DE) with an announced release, we can forget about it... but I will try anyway

Still unsure but not impossible I think, if only 200 pins were released at the D23 expo, where are the 50 last ones, not in Japan apparently so we can bet on DS.com
But nothing is confirmed...
 
Best of luck to everyone! I will try for one too. I don't collect Ariel so if I get one I'll be trading it.

It does seem a little hard on the UK/Europe traders. It's not like they get a ton of releases already, compared to all the WDW, DLR and especially DSF ones. I think 100 should have gone to them, then they'd have something to trade for the DSF pins!
 
I really don't know how to feel about this. One one hand, I'm a little relieved that I might at least have a shot at it. On the other hand, with only 50 per place, these are going to sell out FAST no matter what, I'm really gonna have to contact as many people as possible to increase my odds. Gah! Why did I have to like this pin so much to start a collection off of it :(
