One of my more recent additions to my collection is this gorgeous Mattel Holiday Princess Jasmine doll from 1999. She really is stunning, especially out of her box, she is one of my fave Jasmine dolls ;o) ...

Hi everyone!! I'm new here 🙂. I just wanted to say I love everyone's dolls - they are gorgeous!! I have not actually colleted dolls before, though admittedly I have hundreds of very well-loved (aka tattered) Barbies I used to play with as a kid haha.
I actually have pre-ordered the Cinderlla 18" deluxe limited edition doll, so I'm very much looking forward to getting her when she comes out! I have to get her shipped allll the way out to Australia!! (I also have 13 of the Disney ear hat ornaments coming too, but that's not part of this thread hehe). I've decided to start collecting Disney a bit late (I'm nearly 22), and my parents think I am insane with my love for Disney! We just do not have near enough Disney out here in Australia, I don't even think there's a Disney store in my state!
I have fallen head over heels in LOVE <3 with the Snow White deluxe 17" limited edition doll :hsd:, which has prompted this desire to collect them. However I can't find her anywhere under $1000!!! It's crazy! I don't have that kind of money, and on principle I don't think I could spend that much!
Anyway, sorry I've gotten off track, I just wanted to say Hi! I've got my Cinderella on order so hopefully I can build my collection and start posting pictures too! Everyone's collections are gorgeous!!

I already have the LE Wedding Rapunzel doll with long eyelashes, but I finally managed to find and buy one with short eyelashes at a reasonable price (I love the one with long eyelashes more but wanted the one with short eyelashes to match her promo/voucher-card photos). She arrived today, so here she is, I like he a lot, & I hope you like her too! 🙂

Thank you for posting the long versus short lashes. I like the long lashes too, but my non-collector friends keep saying they are creepy. I am a deboxer and I notice that the lashes can fall out , just a bit, on the 17 inch dolls and even more on the designer princesses . And I do not touch them, only display.
 
you're welcome. I keep thinking about deboxing mine, but I get too worried about them getting dirty or collecting dust, and now I'm afraid they'll lose their lashes (thanks for the info) so they'll remain boxed! It's a good thing that all the DS LE dolls come in beautiful display boxes in their own.
 
Hello everyone! I'm a newbie here and thanks to all of your gorgeous pictures, I've fallen in love with the LE "17 dolls. My favorite princesses are Ariel, Rapunzel, Belle, Cinderella and Tiana. I absolutely love the two Rapunzel LE dolls and hope to own them both one day. 🙂

I love the Cinderella LE that's for pre-order now, and am wondering if it's likely that I'll be able to purchase her closer to October than right now, or is there a large possibility that she will sell out during her pre-order. :dunno: I probably won't have the money for her until her release, but I hear that they won't charge until they ship, is that correct?

Also, do you think there will be an Ariel LE next year? She's my favorite and I'd love a LE doll for her!🙂 Are there ways to get notifications as to when they release a doll from this line? I am so angry I had no idea when the Rapunzel dolls came out!:rant:

I recently started getting into the LE 17s as well. I was completely won over by the purple Rapunzel and was fortunate enough to find her at a decent price; I love her! They are bigger than I imagined, beautiful and very detailed.

I'm afraid you're a bit out of luck on all the LE dolls of your favorite princesses except Ariel and Cinderella. Tiana was the second LE release and Belle was the third. Both of these plus the two Rapunzel LE dolls are on ebay but they are double or more the original price.

Theoretically you will not be charged until your Cinderella ships, but it's always better to be ready just in case Disney charges you early or puts a hold on the funds for your order (as they have recently done with many poor collectors on the Designer Villains line). I'm not sure if she will sell out during the pre-order- I think I'm surprised she's been available for this long. But unlike Merida or Wedding Rapunzel, she's is one of the "original" lower edition numbers with only 5000, so if she sells out you'll be paying a lot more for her on the secondary market. Plus, she is a beloved and popular character, so people might be more inclined to order her (whereas Merida was very new and not everyone is fond of Rapunzel as a brunette even if she is stunning in her wedding dress- so they took longer to sell out). I would order her as soon as possible.
If they stick with the schedule of DVD releases, I would predict the next major LE doll to be Jasmine, since Aladdin is being released in the spring 2013. If the fall release for next year is the Little Mermaid, then an Ariel doll is entirely likely.

The next LE doll release apart from Cinderella is predicted to be a new Brave set featuring both a blue gown Merida AND queen Elinor in the same box. Probably in November.

This is a wonderful place to keep up to date on the disney dolls. Everyone is very kind and posts absolutely stunning and detailed pictures of their collections! I encourage you to look around! 🙂

Thank you so much Auroradawn! That was very helpful, and I will definitely try and order Cindy as soon as I can! Then I will try for a wedding Rapunzel next, since she is going for $100-120+ on eBay. The Long haired Rapunzel will have to be either next year or later since she is double her original price at $200+.

I would pre order Ariel as soon as she's available if she comes out next fall! I wonder how they would dress her? Mermaid style, or in her pink dress, or her blue 'Kiss the girl' dress? 🙂

I would love it as well as I love the LE Princess Dolls if they made the Villains into large 18in LE Dolls, how wonderful would that be! I was kind of sad that the Designer Villain dolls are 12 in, ordered them anyways, but would love to have them full blown size next to each princess!! A girl can dream!
 


Oh, that would be great! Like the mother Gothel LE "17 that was released! And for Ariel maybe they could do Vanessa instead of Ursula in her sea-witch form! That'd be awesome! 🙂 Which villain is your favorite that you'd like to see like this?
 
Robert Tonner just released a new Rapunzel doll. She is similar to his first one but with a braid. Tonner only has Pocahontas, Mulan and Merida left to do for Princesses, but it is slow going because Disney is very particular about approving the designs. I love the quality of the Tonner clothes for the Disney line, I put his pink gown on my DS Singing Ariel. I will post a picture soon.

Regarding Tonner Rapunzel- There is no date yet on the release day. There are several shops like Dreamcastle Dolls, which I use, but others like Angelic Dreams etc that will let you put a deposit now. The first Rapunzel Tonner made did sell out. I have been using Carol at Dreamcastle for years, she asked for $30 down plus gives a discount of like 15%. A lot of the Tonner retailers discount and layaway too.

I know some people don't like the Tonner versions but they have really grown on me. They are great quality and the clothing is luxurious. I think of them like Giselle stepping into human form because they are not as cartoony. Usually the doll is much better than the prototype too. I love DS dolls the most but love these dolls as well.

Oh I loved Vanessa instead of Ursula! That would be awesome to have a doll like her!!! They already have Gothel so I am pretty happy, but I would love a Cruella as long as she looked like the small villain they did of her 🙂
 
Hey all. My first actual doll post! I bought this doll Charlotte the other day - she's one of my favourite characters. Actually I usually prefer all the side characters to the main ones, even though I do love my princesses. Anyway, I bought Charlotte and decided I wanted to put eyelashes on her.. so I did. I was going to root them in, but I've not done the whole 'taking the head off the doll' yet, so we'll see if I do. I just wanted to share her with you. I think she's by Mattel.







I really think she's great. I hope you like!
 
EEEEEEEK I just have to share my excitement somewhere!! I just got 17" LE Snow White, Belle, and Tiana all MIB for only $600! I'm seriously like, crying with joy and excitement right now. It's a dream come true!! Now the only dolls I need to complete my 17" collection are the long haired Rapunzel, Mother Gothel, Alice, and the Queen of Hearts. <3 I can't wait to post pictures after Christmas!

Guess she just wanted them to go to a collector and didn't care about money? 😱 I just hope others can find her for the same great price! I just wanted to prove that it IS still possible! Lol
