Dark Rapunzel is awesome! I always thought the Designer Gothel's dress would suite Rapunzel better! Thanks for sharing your pics!!! ^^

Thanks, all! I had fun with the Dark Rapunzel dress up. But things are now back to normal, and Designer Mother Gothel is back in her own gown for good. There was one photo pose in particular that I seem to have replicated in Dark Rapunzel that I did with Designer Mother Gothel (and surprisingly, it was not intentional), so that got me to thinking of putting up a: "Who Wore It Best?" photo like in those celebrity gossip magazines.

Personally, I can't really decide. I love how Rapunzel's long hair matches the fringe on the train and also lends a warmer feel to the gown, and Designer Mother Gothel really looks elegantly streamlined with her black gloves and dramatic updo...

HAHA! I can just hear them saying "Who wore it better!?" on E! News

Personally, I would say Rapunzel, as her hair really adds to the gown- it's a shame this wasn't Designer Rapunzel wearing Gothel's dress (although play doll Rapunzel still looks fabulous), her eye makeup and eyelashes would look STUNNING in this gown! You take such wonderful photos Shivatopia, thank for posting! ^_^ <3

Glad you changed your mind about Mother Gothel, Shivatopia! The gloves work great and really set off the gold in her hair, Gothel for me wins. Rapunzel's hair would look interesting going into the tassels.

And the doll-bonanza continues! So after what seemed like forever, I finally received my LE Lady Tremaine doll via UPS tonight. Luckily, I got a good one, where her display box is not damaged in any way, and her gown, hair, and makeup are all as they should be. That was a huge relief after all the trouble that a lot of us have had with LE Cinderella. AS a side note, the brown shipper box for my LE Lady Tremaine was scraped up during shipping, including a part that looks like someone tried to take a bite out of the cardboard. Despite that, my doll is in perfect condition, praise the powers-that-be!

LE 17" Lady Tremaine

I really don't have too many words about LE Lady Tremaine that have not already been said, so my review will be rather brief.

There is absolutely no doubt that LE Lady Tremaine is definitely not the prettiest doll in the world, nor does she really have a "wow" factor about her. She also does not inspire a lovable feeling toward her. She is a very cold and somewhat frightening doll. I hope not too many parents bought these for their kids, because she could probably inspire a lot of nightmares. LE Lady Tremaine is definitely a doll made for fans of Cinderella.

This doll really does capture the dark soul of Cinderella's wicked stepmother. This woman has been called the most hated Disney Villain of all time (not to be confused with the most evil Disney Villain of all time). She is a character that is full of malice against her stepdaughter, and the audience is not supposed to find any redeeming features in her (she's not beautiful like Queen Grimhilde, or awe-inspiring like Maleficent, or funny like Cruella de Vil). By just looking at this doll's face, you can feel the hate that she has for the lovely Cinderella.

There are a couple of issues I have with this otherwise very well-made doll. The first is that her gown's proportions are a bit off, so it looks like the gown was actually a size or two too big for her. I think if the top skirt were a bit shorter and if we could see her neck, there would be a better illusion that she were taller and more elongated, as she should be. This brings me to my second issue, which is her collar. Though is is not near as bad as I thought it would be, I still hold on to my initial reaction to it: the collar makes her look like the Joker's Mother! Again, the problem is that we cannot see her neck at all, so it makes her look more squat than she really is, plus it looks very clownish.

The crafting of the gown is well-done, from the crimson velvet with gold piping details, to the satin skirt, and even to the frilled collar. She does not look like a cheap doll. Her face and hair are really what draw you in. Of course, she has a very long face and nose, with an unsmiling mouth and narrowed side-glancing eyes that are beautifully painted and framed in rooted eyelashes. You can really feel the arrogant look of disapproval in her eyes. Her hair is neatly coiffed into her traditional hairdo, though it's not quite as heart-shaped at the top as it ought to be. Let's face it folks: she is the perfect embodiment of the stereotypical wicked stepmother.

The dress is not too big for her shivatopia it just , they didn't tight it when they put it on the box. I unboxed her and was able to tight it

Haha, that was the first thing I noticed when I saw your Dark Rapunzel post (I loved that shot of Gothel)! I totally thought it was intentional.

As for who wore it better, Gothel gets my vote. I love what you did with the gloves; it really ties all her colors together.

Oh, I know the dress is actually made to fit her doll body like a glove. I'm just saying that their choice of proprotional lengths and sizes of certain parts of her gown give the illusion that the dress is ill-fitting, with the biggest problem being that we cannot see her neck. Even in real life, this type of collar is not usually a look anyone would want to attempt to wear in order to appear taller. When you compare this dress to the 17" LE Queen of Hearts' dress (where you can see her neck but they have a similar type of collar in the back), the Queen of Hearts still has a much more elongated look to her, even though they are both the same size and their dresses are made out of similar materials.

Goodness this is brilliant !!! She looks gorgeous now I actually like her more now!! It's amazing how a simple little thing like a pair of opera gloves can make a huge difference she looks so elegant and classy now!! Thanks for sharing your idea Shivatopia, now all I have to do is find/make a pair of gloves and she's prettier thanks to you. Funny how DS didn't think of adding a simple accessory to the design!

Here are some more pictures of my Cindy.

My Cindy's bun has hairs sticking out of the top, but they aren't very noticeable, does everyone's doll have this?

I love the first pic of Cinderella holding one of her glass slippers. Really cool looking. The blue tint to the photo makes really wintry looking, like the slipper is made of ice, instead of glass.

My Cinderella also has the hair ends sticking out the the top of the bun, but only a little bit is sticking out. There are a total of eight of the little tufts of hair. It is only noticable when looking at her hair from above, so it doesn't bother me. The ends of my Cinderella's hair are also a bit neater than yours. Here's a pic of mine:

I am super excited for Cruella to be coming out today!!!!!! I'll ask the store if they have a spare Evil Queen left since she grew on me and I now want her. (Still won't buy Gothel lol) If not I'll try online on the DS. So anyone else picking up Cruella???? Her hair and just whole presentation is just really awesome, love that her design was is a little risqué too.

They sets are up on the DS UK website:

I noticed on Belle's dress in the photo of her inside the box differs a little from the unboxed doll's dress. for instance, seems boxed Belle's dress has deeper shade of yellow, glitter, and gold trim, while the unboxed doll's dress does not. Wonder why DS UK sometimes posts photos of products that differs from what they actually ship, and wonder which one they would be sending! I wish the US gets these, last year UK got the Winter Wardrobe ones, and we sadly didn't!
