Disney Store does it to collectors AGAIN!!
So, I was supposed to get my MMC 1955 pin today, but instead I received this lovely package. The packing-slip was there, but no pin. And NO packing material. Not a single bubble. You have to wonder how much they spend in extra packaging and replacement product just so they could have fewer packaging options. Amazing!

WHAT?! Oh my gosh, please call them and hopefully they'll do something to help yoU!

Geez. And I thought the packages I received from them in the last couple of months were in bad shape...none were as bad as that. That's AWFUL. There's just no excuse for so many people to get so many packages in bad shape from them. I order stuff online all the time from other stores, and I've NEVER seen as many damaged packages as I've been seeing from Disney.

I fear thats what my rapunzel package will look like...assuming I actually get it that is.

I'm still waiting on a confirmation for my order from Monday morning. I'd been putting off ordering because of this thread, but I didn't want to miss the Bolt pin, they make so few of them. I sure hope my pins arrive, I wouldn't mind if the box was banged up, as long as the pins were there and ok.

I think they really need to go back to the old way. It seems such a waste to send a big box like that for just a few pins.

In the realm of priceless, here is the replay I received from my e-mail to them (I had previously received a response saying they are reshipping the pin), sending a picture of the package and complaining about how they are sending things:

Dear Marc,

We are delighted to have received your recent email and we
appreciate your interest in DisneyStore.com. We definitely appreciate your
suggestions concerning packaging!!

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have further questions. We
look forward to future opportunities to be of service to you.

All you need is faith, trust, and PIXIE DUST!!

Sincerely,

Kerri

Oh wow! I might be totally wrong, but judging from your nickname I gather you paid courier service to have your order mangled? I received a dented and bent Disney lunch box shaped _metal_ package of pens and colors last week from DSUK to Finland. I sent them a message about it and this week I sent them another message telling them I was still waiting for an answer to get my item replaced. I did receive a message telling me they hadn't received my first message which I found odd as I copy/pasted the same address to the second message. They said they would replace my order which I do appreciate very much. But as it was an extra item i ordered just because it was on sale I wonder how I would have felt if it had been an item I made the order in the first place for.

I think the warehouse is REALLY skimping on the Pixie Dust - these packages are looking like they were given to the Lost Boys for a few days before going to UPS.

I sure wish they would go back to putting the address labels on the top of the box instead of the sides. When the box is oriented with the label up, the weakest parts of the box are on the sides (with the shipping tape being the only support) so any that is put on top of them makes it really easy to smush (smash / crush) the box. I discussed that with the postman the other day. He also gets really upset when he sees the packages all mangled because most people (not me) assume the messenger (letter carrier) is the one who damaged the package.

You gotta wonder do they even read the mail they receive? I also got a box very similar to yours but fortunately the pins didn't fall out. But when I send the photos to Disney, they responded in similar fashion. They were delighted to know that their warehouse is mailing out substandard packaging? They appreciate that they have to spend money to replace items that never should have been lost in the first place. These guys are dumber than a box of rocks. At least they did apologize for the inconvenience.

Someone (or someones) should take the photos of the boxes to one of the pin events and give them to the one of the event leads - or send the photos to Jim Fielding (President of Disney Stores Worldwide) - he is on Twitter http://twitter.com/#!/disneystoreprez

I was shocked when I got my package today, to see it was in near-perfect condition. The top was taped perfectly and in no way opening, the box contained a lot of shipping bubbles in it, and the box itself only had a few really small corner digs (which is normal for boxes of that size). My last two purchases from Disney have been really pleasant. Thank goodness.

So are they actually going to send you your pin or...?

If it makes you feel better, I gotten 2 boxes from Disney in the last week or so and the boxes were in great shape with lots of air packs so its not all bad! I miss the small boxes too. It was small enough for my mailman to hide/keep it in a safe place so he could leave it. Now I get notices left all the time and it sucks!!

I placed an order on 9/5/11 that I haven't received yet.... then I placed an order on 9/14/11 that arrived today. Go figure. It contained 6 pins in a huge box with absolutely ZERO packing material.

I contacted guest services and they informed me that my 1st order is scheduled to be delivered on 9/26/11. Give me a Break!!! THREE WEEKS??? They why did the second order only take ONE week?

Who is running that place???

How about something good for a change: Ordered Rapunzel 110th on the 19th(monday night), she shipped the 22nd(wednesday) and I got her today(23rd)! How insame is that?! Box is in perfect condition too! Not even 4 full days from ordering to receiving it!

My Mulan pin with shirt shipped yesterday (9/20). My Rapunzel pins (it let me order 2!) with shirt and other assorted clothes shipped yesterday (9/23). Hope they arrive this weekend or early next week. I am hoping the clothes will cushion any lack of packaging :)

I gotta tell you Margaret, your comment about them being dummer than a box of rock tore me up. I almost fell on the floor! I was just laughing.

Now just to make sure no one takes offense, we are in no way suggesting rocks are dumb! They would only be labeled as such if they all climbed into a box. Lol

Why thank you Vicki, I try my best in the trying times. Disney has done it's best to discourage me from having the 110th Legacy but I have managed to outsmart them repeatdly. They will not win - my will won't bend or break - I will have a 110th Legacy Collection and it will have 110 pins. I'm down to the last five, but will Disney come up with a new way to thwart my efforts?? Will they try to break me down at the bitter end??? Stay tuned for more details.

Well, in regards to Disney thwarting my efforts to obtain the 110 pins, they may have suceeded at last. I rushed to the computer at 5:30 AM to order the last five pins and SURPRISE - there were only four pins (HUH????). So I ordered them and waited (watching the second hand on the clock) until 9:00 AM when they open the phone line. Well, of course much to my surprise, no one knows anything. So I will now have 109 pins and hoping that they don't forget that they still have one pin to release. Oh my, I've become so untrusting of late in regards to Disney :( So one more week of worrying about my orders and they I can relax and figure out how I'm going to frame these.

Margaret - I feel your pain. this happened to me also, but then the other day, I received a phone call from Disney asking if I still wanted the pin that was previously sold out -- of course, I said yes, and I am now in receipt of it. It just blows my mind that they post items for sale on the web site and then it is sold out and later, it appears again. Hope they aren't making more pins to fill the void - that would really mess up the LE count.
