Disney Store Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion - 2016
I wish Disney would come out with a hybrid doll, one that has the box of the limited edition dolls but the height of the designers... I have to be so picky now with space.

I definitely agree with people saying Moana is still a well made doll, it's just missing the 'wow' factor for me. I think a big part of it was the singing doll - she's gorgeous, with lots of embellishment on her skirt, and all kinds of accessories for her arms and feet (and that headdress!) I always knew her LE doll could only have so much, but I did expect it to be thoroughly decorated with flowers and beads and patterns, etc. I wonder what the odds are we'll have another doll for her dvd release? Because maybe that one will be in the singing outfit? That would be amazing!

that would be nice but they should lower the price as well..id like a 17 inches doll too with the acrylic glass case...

they were missing her necklace too..but thats just sneak peak photo anyway. Who knows what the actual doll would look like. I wish she had rooted eyelash though...in the movie she had really thick eyelash that match her hair..the only think I like about this LE doll was her hair. It looks so realistic...some commented her skintone isnt realistic..i dont think so..i have the same skin tone as her and im real...maybe i was too amazed that her classic doll looks so amazing that I think I expected too much that her LE should top that...i mean theres nothing wrong with that its just that if I can only spend something like 40 dollars to a doll which is at par with an LE then why would I spend 119 dollars to an LE right? Anyway, we shall see its just sneak peak and besides, they usually look better in person

Agreed! It's just a prototype picture. Something tells me there will be some changes done and she will look much better by the time she is released. I read somewhere that some of the Disney creation team people follow blogs and Facebook pages to read collectors comments.

Ya know, I was originally really confused as to why they would release the Moana doll two weeks after the film comes out when these dolls normally release the week of the film's release or a week before (at least in the US). Now that I have thought about it a bit, I actually think it makes a lot of sense to release her this way. Most people in the US will have had the opportunity to actually see the film before buying the doll so it can help them decide if she is worth getting or not. If they don't care for the film or the character, then they can skip on her. I actually would prefer if Disney would handle future doll releases for new characters in a similar fashion, as I am sometimes skeptical about spending a ton of money on products for a film I haven't seen yet. Not to mention that it will be after the craziness of Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

Really? Then why when people complained about dolls with shiny skin they still produced dolls with it....i hope they do but i think even if they did read about it they choose which to consider....it will be nice though if they did

I still think 2015 was the most awful dolls year regular Elsa was so unnecessary. and the false Hans rumour lol. But moana her sandy feet are just amazing!! I am really curious of her box. 10/10 will buy her

live action Cinderella. I haven't seen the L.A. Alice dolls yet...

I personally think LA Cindy wouldn't have looked as good without a shinny face. I understand people complain about SOME dolls being too shinny but it actually looks good on some other ones. I do think Disney listens to people's complaints and read comments that are being posted on social media but I also think that no matter what they do there will always be complaints. Nothing can ever be perfect. With that being said I remember their designer line back in 2015 was far from being great and they did manage to make the 2016 line look great but their quality control is so lacking that I just decided to not risk being stuck with a damaged set and just canceled my order. I am kinda getting off track here. Going back to Moana I do believe as we get closer to the release date we will get a better view of her. One of the doll expert on one of the Facebook pages advised collectors to start saving up because she looks great.

My FaceBook groups were posting this picture as part of the LA BatB doll speculation. If we are getting this version of Belle, then we can look forward to a fairly simplistic gown. But, then again, maybe Disney will embellish it to warrant the LE price tag.

I imagine it will be similar to Cinderella's dress. Simplistic in its overall design in all the promo pictures, but it ends up looking absolutely stunning in the actual movie and when you see the props in person. The LE dolls (and film collection dolls) are going to look fantastic!

My little sister found another full-length pic of LE Moana, and assuming it's real, makes me rescind what I said about her not being worth her price. I think at the moment I shall withhold my final opinion until we see more pictures.

Can you post the pic? I am really hoping to change my opinion about her too!

Here's the picture!

CREDIT TO ALL THOSE DISNEY DOLLS TUMBLR. Pic is not mine!

There are little tiny water droplets on her skirt; she comes with Pua and Hei Hei. Personally I think she looks loads better in this picture!

Thanks for posting. I had seen it before. It does look a little better but I still want to see more pics of her before I make up my mind. You are right though it does make it look more promising.

This is the picture that originates from my doll group. I didn't want to share it mainly because I figured the creator wouldn't want it getting around, but looks like someone else beat me to it lol. I really wanted people who didn't like the original reveal picture to see this, because I think she looks SO much better here.

I love her. She's true to the character and she got all those amazing little details: The sand on her feet, water drops on her skirt, the sidekicks, the leaf decorations, she even got rooted lashes btw! They're shorter but they are there. I agree that the price is a bit high (I never understood why these dolls are $119.95 when here in Europe they're "just" 84€) but nothing compared to the platinum sets. I'll get her and I hope she will sell fast, I really want Disney to make more of these diverse type of characters! And I just can't wait for her bluray LE doll release with the singing outfit which is even more cool (after all these Frozen LE dolls we can totally bear two awesome LE Moana dolls! ). I just hope the movie will live up to the hype!
