Disney Store Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion - 2017
Definitely prefer the new face sculpt to the old one. I still think the first doll is gorgeous, but the face sculpt of the second doll looks more like the character in the actual movie, and has a softer tone and shape. The sculpt for the first doll looks older and more impish, while the second one has a much more sincere and caring look. I think she will display really nicely alongside the other princess dolls.

Personally, I love the look of the second doll much better. I'm a sucker for that shade of red, lol! And I feel like so much more detail went into the second doll. I'm really considering trying for her.
 
I pre ordered the Moana blu-ray at my local Disney Store just to make sure that i was going top be in the store the day of Moanas doll release.
i love the character and movie plus I think the new doll is gorgeous. i will hopefully able to get he. Now I am anxiously awaiting the release pics of the Beauty and the Beast LA Belle doll. I cant wait to see what she looks like
 
I really hope the LE live action Belle is good. After the disappointment of the regular film collection doll, I am really hoping that Disney put a ton of work into making the LE doll as beautiful as possible. Rumors are also going around that it will be using the first "prototype" dress instead of the dress she actually wears in the film as well, which will be REALLY disappointing if it turns out to be true.
 
I noticed the Facebook page for LE Disney dolls called the 2nd Moana doll an "heirloom". Is that a different thing from the other LE dolls?

The Heirloom Collection is technically what the 17 inch dolls are called. Not all of the larger dolls were part of the collection, like Jack and Sally and Buzz and Woody. All the main animated and live action fairy tale dolls have been part of it as well as Sgt. Calhoun.

I cannot wait for those D23 announcements! If they're anything like the ones made in 2015, then the hype train is going to be going full force! Also, I really hope the Pirates of the Caribbean rumor is true. I at the very least want Film Collection dolls.

I would not mind a 17" LE Jack Sparrow or Elizabeth Swan. Those would be AMAZING! what are the chances of Disney making any Pirates dolls though? Well i guess only time will tell. I mean Disney seems to be taking their sweet time announcing a date and releasing pics of the Beauty and the Beast LE Belle Doll. Still haven't gotten any info on that and were just about a month away from the movies release Come on Disney just announce a date already!! I would love a date even if they don't reveal the doll with it. I need to ask for the day off work already lol :anxious::anxious::donald::mickey:
 
Is it even confirmed that there will be a 17" doll? I know they had a Cinderella one, but I don't recall a large Sleeping Beauty/Maleficent one.. I could be totally wrong.
Also, if they were slated to come out soon wouldn't they be on display already?
 
They also may not have been ready to take the chance on a live action LE at the time - considering these dolls spend around a year in the planning/design phase before they hit the shelves and the 17" line, while popular, wasn't being milked for all it was worth yet. Whereas Cinderella, the first LE based on a real person's likeness, was part of the post-Frozen tidal wave of marketing and merchandising. Plus Cinderella is a more popular character/story and not a villain so there was a lot less risk in her potential sales unlike Maleficent.
