DisneyStore Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion
I'm hoping we put our display doll out soon, so I can take pictures for you guys! As for quality, I'm sure it's on par with the 2015 frozen dolls, however I'm afraid nothing they could produce would match up to how I feel about that Anna. The material is very much akin to the one they used for designer Zarina's jacket. It's like a lightweight upholstery woven satin (not super shiny). I think the shiny skin doesn't look bad, her makeup is probably the best I've seen from the company. Overall, I'd give the doll a 8/10 because they could still improve in a few areas, including their use of beads. If I did get her, I would fix her hair so that the beads were woven throughout instead of on a string wrapped around it (but that may be too labor intensive for them).

Awww man, purplemandms, now I can't unsee that hidden mickey...

I too am hoping that they release 17" dolls of Mulan and Pocahontas, but I think this past DFDC set kinda screwed them on getting anymore dolls (I found most of the set to be a bit underwhelming tbh)

Man, I may not be ordering her, but I am desperate to see what her box looks like!

I would totally love a 17" doll of Mulan! :)

I know, I wish they'd go back to including props with the dolls. I love it when they add little details like that. Although, I guess they have been including them with the male dolls. Prince Phillip had his shield and sword (although to me that's more a part of his costume), and Kristoff had his guitar or lute or whatever that was. Maybe they'll give Aladdin the lamp?

If Aladdin doesn't include his lamp, I will riot lol. I kind of have an obsession for that thing. Its such an iconic object and such an important plot point to the actual film that it would be silly to not include it with at least one of the dolls. I think Disney will include it with the doll, but you never really know with them these days.

He has to have the lamp lol that would be a huge let down. Maybe well have a huge mega surprise and they'll make genie with the lamp. One can hope :D.

I would absolutely love a Genie doll! I'm just not sure how Disney could make a doll like that considering his different body structure to the other human characters. I am also really interested in seeing how Jafar looks, seeing his classic dolls haven't exactly been the best.

Not sure if anyone else saw this, but someone sold a new, sealed 17"Snow White and a new 17" Tiana for only $75.00 each on eBay a couple of days ago.

I feel sick...

I can't believe this... I think it's a mistake by seller and she/he would possibly cancel the order...

It was a new seller so I'm thinking they may not have realized what they are worth. They even listed that they paid 99.00 for each doll as if to justify selling the doll for 75.00. Wondering if they realized before they shipped them out...

 oh my goodness... wow. Well, I hope a true collector was able to get them at that price.

I literally want to cry. I browse eBay a lot for fun and I can't believe I never saw that! Snow White is my favorite princess and what I wouldn't give to have that doll! A once in a blue moon oppurtunity.... Oh well it's no use brooding over it, you know it's strange, I stopped browsing eBay for a little while since I know I don't have the money, but this would have been a great early birthday present for me.... Oh well nothing I can do.

It's possible. Hmm, Maybe I should check ebay on a daily basis then...

Oh wow. I check Ebay daily (sometimes several times), but I do a "disney limited edition doll" search and this doll showed up as "snow white doll." I don't check the dolls by individual names. I guess I will now... Seriously, I'm shocked. I also hope this went to a collector and not someone who will relist it. I think that's why we have such a hard time getting these dolls and why some are so high. People keep buying them just to turn around and sell.

The cheap Snow White and Tiana were cancelled. As soon as the seller sold them, he/she got loads of messages from collectors telling them the real value of the dolls and offering more money.

If this is true, I kind of hope this seller gets some negative feedback-I certainly wouldn't do business with someone like that. I was under the impression that a sale was a sale and whether he/she knew the going rate or not, if the sale closed and the buyer already sent payment it is unethical (maybe even illegal) in business for a seller to cancel in the hope someone else will pay more. :(

That is so cruel for anyone to do, and I hope the buyer(s) will be able to take some sort of action against the seller for doing it.

I really hope it wasn't 2 lucky collectors who found those listings. If I was a collector, I would be heartbroken if I found them at that price & then had the seller cancel the order.

I really don't know what to think about this. On one hand, I feel sorry for someone selling something and not realizing what it is truly worth, but on the other hand, it is kind of up to the seller to do his or her own research before listing something. And if the sale went through and someone paid for what was being asked, it in not fair to the people who bought them either (to cancel, I mean). (And it is certainly not right of other collectors to contact the seller and offer more money after the dolls were already sold to someone else.) Kind of a no-win situation on both sides, unfortunately.

And also, while these dolls are definitely worth more than retail because of demand, the exorbitant prices these dolls go for on the second market are insane and they keep going up and up. It would be nice to think collectors could find them once in a while at a decent price, maybe just a couple of hundred instead of a couple of grand. LOL, so now the seller will probably realist them for $1000-2000, when they would have been happy to sell them for $75. Honestly, can't say I blame them though.

I found a Beauty and the Beast Designer set recently for under $200, and I kept thinking something was wrong because it was so much cheaper than what it usually goes for. It arrived in nearly perfect condition except for a very tiny mark/scratch on the nameplate. So good deals can happen sometime, although maybe not deals as good as a 17"Snow White for under retail!

If the buyer complains they can get banned from Ebay for cancelling for no good reason other than they realised they could get more....

I would think anyone who contacted the seller offering more money could be banned too; that has to be against the rules.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Princess-Ti...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 Listing for Tiana

I was super interested in seeing these listings because I DIDN'T BELIEVE IT and searching "Limited Edition Snow White/Tiana doll" didn't bring them up. So I found them using very basic descriptions as was suggested up thread (snow white doll/tiana doll), checked completed listings and there they were.

On the one hand I would think "SCAM" because the seller literally JUST created his/her eBay account on July 15th. I've sold several things on eBay myself but I only just started doing that last year while I've have my account since 2006. eBay is one of those places online where if you're online you probably have an account, much like PayPal, YouTube, Facebook, etc. So, I would have a difficult time trusting someone so new, selling something so valuable, for such a little amount. I too feel sort of bad for the seller and their doofus move of listing those dolls for so little, but then I think "when I sell stuff on eBay I ALWAYS research the item for how much it might be worth". I always check completed listings to see the going rate. In the case where there are no completed listings for exactly what I'm selling I do Google searches for how much the item might sell for at retail. For example, I got this pair of wireless headphones for free that my dad won at an office Christmas party but he didn't want them, I didn't want them, so I threw them on eBay. They go for $59.99USD at retail, I listed them at $25CDN starting bid and sold them for that price. Why would you not research this stuff prior to putting up a listing? Especially for Disneyana which almost ALWAYS increases in value when you know the item is LE 5,000 to begin with?

I only feel sorry for the buyer if it was a true collector. There's no way of knowing what the buyer's intentions were. Odds are better it was someone who would turn around and sell the dolls for 10-20x the price than a collector. And, let's be honest, even a collector who already had Snow would snatch her up at that price and sell her for more or attempt to trader her for a doll they might be missing. That is a deal too good to pass up.

Anyway, even if that seller receives negative feedback for cancelling the purchase, they had a score of ONE, and their account is less than two weeks old. They will probably just close that eBay account and make a new one with a new email address and boom, back to having a 100% feedback score. Only this time they'll throw an extra 0 or more on both those doll's prices.
