DisneyStore Limited Edition 17" Dolls Discussion
Also we've had them in the Designer range! And Jasmine is coming so this is a non argument for me.

I just want to know how Cinderella will look in the box with her big blue dress and het long wedding dress i hope they still look good in their boxes...

I'm not sure if I'm right but I think Tiana probably had one of the biggest dresses in the 17" line so anyone with her could share what they thought

I suppose with the wedding doll is depends how long the train is but Elsa's snow queen outfit was quite long and they managed this well.

Oh yeah.. Cause Tiana is totally white...
Sheesh.. Is there anyway that Disney hasn't offended everyone?

Sheesh lol.

was hardly a massive hit with the doll. Yes it is offensive actually! Tell me then why they have not released them then? Yet they release sgt callohan ? Really ? Cod she is way more popular then pochontas and mulan ( sarcasm if u are not sure)

yeah, and also with alice her big dress they did an amazing job. but i am really curious!

Well... judging on the sales history of both Mulan and Pocahontas and Calhoon.... I'd say she is more popular Calhoon sold out and didn't go on sale and she didn't need to rely on nostalgia or prior knowledge. All of the POC dolls released last year went on sale before selling out. you cannot argue with Numbers. You can't say that they were too expensive because it was the same price of a LE17" doll and if people really cared about the POC princesses, they would have gotten them. Yes, Calhoon was LE1000 but she was also a brand new character. As much as people like to preach here about POC princesses, a lot of people prefer the "magical" princesses that they grew up with. It's not Disney's fault that people are only attracted to the fairytale white princesses instead of the realistic heroines.

Yes, Mulan and Pocahontas are not popular enough for them to release 17" dolls... But what can they make different that they haven't done yet? If you are really so desperate for one of their dolls, go get the designer fairytale dolls that came out. Otherwise, hold the criticism until later this year when they release Jasmine. Or are you going to tell me that they aren't going to release her during her Diamond year?

Man... Disney fans feel so entitled... Just be grateful that Disney hasn't abandoned this line like they did on many others.

Yes its likely they will release jasmine but are you telling me you 100% know that they will .... No you don't! I don't want the designer fairytale dolls. Is that ok? Has it not occurred to you that the reason the designer ones didn't sell out is because people would want mulan on her own and as not as a couple. If they were to release them in 17" form they would sell out quick.
Again you say they won't release them , how do you know? Unless you give the say so on what gets a 17" doll or you are in the production team then you have not got any better idea then the rest of us? All your going on is what you think ? Yes your entitled to your opinion but you just saying what you think. It's not fact.

I am sorry but I have to ask because I just can't understand what means POC exactly (I understand it is for Mulan, Pocahontas, Tiana & Jasmine).
Sorry to bother you with my lack of vocabulary >_<

It's ok I don't know either! Thank you for asking, I guess I was too scared to!

POC is a term that refers to "person of color," in internet lingo. I personally find the term mildly offensive but many chose to use it quite vehemently.

I also absolutely hate to say it, but Tiana, Pocahontas, and Mulan do sell poorly compared to other princesses in terms of merchandise over the price point of $20. The classic dolls and animators sell decently in store. But costumes, accessories, and LE dolls (as we saw with the couples) go on clearance. To Disney, I am sure it looks as if these characters are unpopular. In their eyes I would assume they see it as, "if we cannot sell these characters out in a set, how can we hope to sell them in individual release?". To further explain, I mean that the couples are the second wave of a set of ten, which many people attempted to complete. Why did they not sell out? Simply because the customers did not buy them. This is also why they went on clearance. This makes less money for Disney, and Disney is a corporation. They care about money quite a bit, as they need to to stay open. (Of course Disney has a lot of money, but it also costs a lot to run such a massive corporation. They must be cautious and attentive to success at all times!). The ONLY solution to our lack of "POC" merchandise would be for us, the consumer, to buy it when it first comes out. This shows our excitement for their products and that we would be willing to buy a 17" doll of these characters. If they were not for you or you could not afford them, that is your right. But unfortunately Disney sees the numbers.

Thank you very much for the explanation ! It makes sense ^^
And I agree with your analysis of the result of the sells of the merchandising of these princesses, sadly v_v

Meanwhile some happy thoughts... My Anna and Elsa arrived in perfect condition! They are absolutely stunning~ the boxes are very pretty too, especially Anna's color theme! After closer inspection, the shine on Anna's face seems to be tiny tiny glitter whereas Elsa just has more of a sheen.
This is my first Elsa and I just looove her dress and hair do. To me her hair is not at all yellow and the tinsel doesn't bother at all! Anna's tinsel has black thread like others have said. It is a little bothering from very close, but when you don't pay attention to it/from far it looks totally fine!

I'm just so happy with these sisters right now!! and the smell of a new doll XD these are quite pungent tho, when you remove the front of the box!

Im so happy for you Nayaichigo! At least all of the worrying the other day is worth it now

Update for all UK Shoppers. Disney Store Facebook Page just announced that the new Limited Edition Dolls will be available for you tomorrow starting at 7am instead of 8am. In store will still be the same!

I personally don't live in the UK so I'm not sure if this means release in-store will be 7am as well since it says regular store hours? Sharing as FYI..

I believe it is applicable to UK only. They are 5 hours ahead of me (EST), so "8 AM" would have translated to "3 AM" my time, which equates to 12 AM PST. However due to our country having the ridiculous daylights savings time, we sprung forward. So this means that 3 AM EST/12 AM PST here is 7 AM UK time, instead of the previously announced 8 AM. I think this is to ensure we all have an equal chance at the dolls at the same time. Of course I could be mistaken! This is just my understanding of the matter

Actually that makes sense because if I remember rightly thats why no one could get the last March set because the time difference meant they all sold out before our link went live? Something along those lines anyway - not that I like bringing it up because it opens a can of worms that needs to stay closed for now!

Yup, we spring forward in March and fall back in October

Im wondering once its snow whites turn again if they'll make another of her and hopefully the queen and her prince however unlikely it is for him. But id love to have them!

is there any of you from the USA who had the possibility to see the LE ballgown cinderella doll in person? i really would like to know how the box looks like

Do you think most people will be trying online tonight for the Cinderella dolls that instore shouldn't be to busy?

Unlikely, because unless Disney sends out shipment confirmation immediately, most people will go to a store as back-up. At least, that's what I would do
