This Stock up auction is super special. I will explain after you see the pin....
[*=left]The winning bid from the auction is going to be used as "Zap Fodder" for Zap Mayhem 2013.
[*=left]Winning bidder gets the pin being auctioned (unlike the gift auction from december)
[*=left]The winning bid will be the one with the most variety. This means that even if a bid is all Open edition it might still beat one that has a couple LE's
[*=left]Bids for the ZM stock up auction do not have to be high quality super HTF pins, however, the pins should be things you want zapped, or would like to be zapped with. And hidden mickeys just don't zap well.
Here is the pin you are bidding for::
Pin 90466: DSF - Disney Pixar's Brave Princess Merida on Angus Pin
LE 300. t/w 47/144 in original packing and on card.
So, besides being THIS pin, what makes it so special? Well, you see this specific pin was sent to me by Greg and Debby. I was Nominated for a zap by several people during the wonderful zapfest they had at the beginning of the year. It is a pin that matches my collection, AND a pin that was on my wants. BUT I already have it. It was on my wants to use for a specific trade.. A trade for one of the centaurs... A trade which I discovered was no longer available within 24 hours of receiving the zap! OH NO's!!! So, rather than sticking it in my trade book, I decided to Zap it forward. I want to make as many people happy as possible, so using it for a stock up auction seems the best way to do that. The winner will be a great home and the pins from the winning bid will also be used to make people happy. Win Win!!!
My Zap Mayhem book of pins is a bit lacking in certain characters. Bids that include those characters are more likely to get higher marks.
We need in order of preference:

Do not bid pins from my wants... None of these pins are for me.
Leadeth not unto the temptation to keep any zap pins!
- YES you may bid pins that you do not yet have in possession, such as guaranteed, already purchased, but not yet shipped to you pins. But please try to be sure you CAN ship your bid within 1-2 weeks of auction close. I need these pins for my psycho plans in March's "pinsane zap mayhem."
- YES international bidders are welcome, but realize that it may take me a week or two to ship. shipping funds/budget are super tight.
- YES you may add to someone else's bid anonymously via me, or publicly here. This pin is a grail to many DPF people.
- ANY bid is welcome. Even if you dont have much, don't be afraid! this is not a "best pin wins" auction... it is "best variety wins" auction.

Timeline:The time period in which the movie Brave takes place, and the region of Scotland which it occurs can be debated, but the Clydesdale was not actually in existence until the mid to late 1800's, when Finnish horses were IMPORTED to Scotland and bred to local mares to create what is now called the Clydesdale. Most likely, the drafter which Merida would have rode in the time period that seems to fit is much like the Irish Drafter I picture below for you. NOT that a Scottish princess would be riding an Irish draft, but the style and type of horse is more accurate. Draft horses were likely not very color or breed specific in the time period of this movie, and the heavy "feathering" of the lower legs is a trait developed later by breeders, not for work horses such as she would have ridden.
Appearance: Under normal circumstances a Clydesdale is a dark brown or red brown "bay" with high white. I believe the white splash markings are actually a genetic trait called Sabino. A Sabino Clydesdale will have white markings on the face, lower legs, all the way past the knees, and often the belly. Angus does not look like your typical Clydesdale. He looks like a Shire, but shires are English. A Shire on the other hand, while closely related, is typically BLACK with white markings. The markings are typically much less pronounced and rarely go above the knees, or appear on the belly. The Shire and the Clydesdale are both Draft horses, and both absolutely stunning to work with, excellent personalities. They are incredibly closely related on the breed's tree. Both are huge, gentle wonderful companions and work horses. They actually CAN both be found in the various shades of each breed, but the majority match the color patterns discussed above.
Clydesdale: typical color and markings
Shire: typical color and markings

Irish Draft Horse: classic older style drafter.
