Last week, a fellow DPF'er found an article on a Disney travel blog site talking about purchasing Disney pins in bulk on eBay. After some communication with the blog's owner, the article was taken down (by her choice, we were not rude, but merely trying to help). Here's the link to that thread:

http://disneypinforum.com/showthread.php?21158-What-I-found-on-Pininterst

In an email I had sent her, I said that I, and other forum members, would be happy to help out with any pin information that she needed. This was her response:

I would LOVE for a pin-trading series! I did one quite a while ago on Vinylmations which had an article on what they were, then one on autographs, and another on the collectibles aspect. I could see something similar with pins - the basics, trading, and then something more detailed like specializations and such.

We give a byline at the top of the article, plus a short bio and contact info (including links) at the footer and we have between 2,700-4,200 readers per day.

Let me know if you're interested! It can be a team effort from multiple people in the forum too

Would anyone else like to help out with writing an article for this blog? Not only would it help the pin trading community but it would also get the DPF name out there to people new to the hobby. I'd rather it were a group project rather than a specific few, and that the article's author be credited as "members of the Disney Pin Forum."

What do you think, anyone up for this?

sounds good to me. i would love to help in any way i can. I am sure other ppl like Geoff would also like to help. He has made such a nice scrapper info sheet for us already.

Your more than welcome to use my information thread on PoDM's if you would like... If there is anything missing on there you would like I can add it on, just send me a PM and let me know...

I would also like to help. Since I am relatively new to the pin trading world, I can offer an article about breaking into the pin trading world. After all, we all had to do it, but since I am relatively new, the experiences are still very fresh in my mind. Let me know.

Glad you all want to help! She said she may even want a series of articles on pin trading! I'll let you know what she's looking for exactly later.

I've been writing since I was a kid and have been an editor of online content, I'd love to be involved and would also be willing to edit anyone's article for spelling and grammatical content. And to ensure the integrity of their original content I'd gladly send the edited article back to the writer and let them read if for final approval before submission.

I'm not a big fan of writing, but I'd be happy to help structure the article(s) that are written. What do you think the basic structure should be? This is how I picture it; the first part is an introduction to pin collecting. A quick history along with what kind of pins there are (disney store, theme park, auction, DSF, and kinds of pins such as pin on pin, free-D, etc). The second part would be about pin trading, how to pin trade, rules, and where to do it in the parks. Part 3 would be the dangers and what to look for when dealing with pins (scrappers, bad eBay pins, etc.).

What do you think?

Is there any indication about total word count available/ space considerations? If it is an open-ended proposition with unlimited content, that could turn into a major undertaking.

On the other hand, it is a lot easier to make decisions about what should and should not be included if you have a known limit.

Let me find that out. That is a very good point!

So I told her about how I was thinking the article could be split up into 3 sections. She suggested about 2 paragraphs each section. I am not very good at writing. Would anyone else like to take up the task of writing the article? I'm sure other members would help as well.

I could do one proper shipping on how to pkg especially for traders starting out...I could do a video...I still wanna do one

I am late to this party, but am glad someone else offered that. I was a member of televised media, so have some writing experience as well. Would love to pen an article if given the opportunity.
