First pin
Well I don't remember my first pin, but I think it was this fairy set that my mom got me years before I got into pin collecting. I have always collected fairies, still do. (Pin 16302: Disney Catalog - Disney Fairies (Pin Set #1) Pin 17062: Disney Catalog - Disney Fairies (Pin Set #2) Pin 17714: Disney Catalog - Disney Fairies (Pin Set #3)

However what I do remember is the pin that made me want to start trading, the first pin to catch my eye, sadly at that time I didn't have any pins and when I came back with a pin to trade for it, the CM had already traded it away, but the pin that started my trading was this little gold bumblebee from what I am assuming is Winnie the Pooh, so if anyone ever comes across it and wants to trade for it, let me know as I'd love to have it to remember that day. Before that pin I didn't even what pin trading was, my roommate, who had previously worked at WDW exlained it all to me and for the next year we had the most fun trading off of lanyards, some of that fun unfortunately has dwindled, but I will always remember that bumblebee.

This was my first pin. Got it in Disneyland Paris back in 2003

I can remember my first pin like it was yesterday. My best friend gave me this pin on my first visit to WDW.

The first pin I purchased for myself was Cinderella (the First and most beautiful Disney Princess).

Does it go all the way back to ones without Mickey backs? I think our first pin was the 2nd time we got an annual passport and got the 1988 Olympic pins. But we didn't start collecting then.

I got this pin when visiting family in California... but I'm not exactly sure as to when! I know I went in '96 (I would have been 9 or 10), and I think in 2000.... But I don't remember which trip I got it on!

Then this past May at WDW, when I was leaning towards if I wanted to "officially" collect pins, I bought this one

My first pin. I was so impressed that with the bazillions of Xmas pins they put out, they also put out a couple of Hanukkah pins (and WDW put out their own designs as well). I now own every Hanukkah pin (sometimes it hasn't been easy keeping up, I had to buy one of the Disney Auctions Hanukkah pins for about $45, but well worth it to me!). But this is the one that I noticed and then made me aware of the whole pin hobby, still love it!

My first pin I got working for TDS back in the nineties. It was a Cogsworth Watch Collectors Club pin that I ZAPed Judy with! So happy she has it! That pin started the madness!

My first pins were two hot air balloon mystery boxes that I had bought for my girls for our overnight stay at DLR. Naturally I forgot to put them out so they got them when we got home and since there were two in each box and I only have three girls I got one. Three of those have been traded away for things they want, but the Belle&Ariel one remains on the DD1's lanyard.

This little guy :)

Pin 844: Toy Story - Alien (Little Green Men)

on my first trip to WDW in (I think) 2005. I bought him because I love anything thats little green men. then when I went back in 2008 I remembered that I had the one pin and decided to buy more to make a collection...and when I was there I bought 21 pins (as I was on holiday for my 21st birthday hehe)

Nice topic! I was at Disney world when I was ten and we were at one of the princess stores in fantasyland. Our parents said that my two sisters and I could each pick out a pin and a lanyard. Jasmine being my favorite princess at the time and my birthday is in february i picked this one. I also love Mulan and bought this mulan pin on my own. My little sister got this princess lanyard that had doubles of each pin so I also got the jasmine and belle pin.
when leaving the store I saw the cast member had a bullseye pin and told her that I liked her pin and she said that I could trade the pin i just bought for it but i thought the whole idea of trading was weird lol :)

my first pin was of the lion king show at the west end in 2005 , but i started collecting in DLRP by buying the hotel santa fe pin (were we stayed) then all the different land pins as well as other random ones i liked!

We had a pin trading event at work, it was the release party of the Sword Series. Everyone who came to the event was so passionate and it looked like so much fun so I bought the first one from the series which was the Sleeping Beauty one.
