Like I mentioned in the other thread, just got off the phone with my Dad and we were going over how their experience was at pick-up. They got to the line about 4:20 and it took an hour and 40 minutes to get through registration. Which was longer than our friends who got there at 1:30 experienced. My Dad thinks they might have had less CM's this year, but wasn't really paying attention. He said there were a lot of people picking up Vinylmation stuff. They were missing stuff from both my Mom and Dad's bags, and did not apply the correct discount on my Dad's stuff. And now that they are home and really looking over everything, several of the mystery pins have dings in the enamel dome, one of the photos in the "Concept Art" folder is very messed up. The latter, they will be exchanging tomorrow. But they thought the Collage Frame looked really nice, as well as the boxed pins.

So anyone else have any thoughts?

We got there at 8am so once we got in there was no line but all the cm's were new. We basically taught them how to check someone in for a pin event. Great trading last night now waiting to get into the event. Hope to meet more DPFer's! Check in with you all later.

So, Stef aka Dancecats and I are waiting for the rain to let up after a long day of trading. Met a lot of DPFer's and got one of my most wanted pins from EpcotRob. More tomorrow!

I wish I could be there and be a roving, drinking reporter again
I hope to go next year...

I will be at DLR for Halloween so expect more reports from me before the end of the year.

BellCat22: What most wanted did you get, please share!
Hugs to you all...and stay dry.

So I think my parents have called me 5 times already. They seem to be having a good time. Lines are long, as usual. But they managed to complete all the mystery pin trading they were after this morning. Specifically, track down 2 regular Plutos, 2 of the ghosts, trade a Pooh chaser for a Pluto chaser. And without trying, they managed to trade for a Tink chaser for our good friend who helps us with DL pins. They've been getting good AP pins off the trading boards. And they had a really good lunch at the fish & chips place in the UK.

There used to be someone who would post pics on Dizpins, I don't know if they are still in pin trading, post on Pin Talk or what. Hopefully, people won't be too exhausted to post pics.

Ok tomorrow we'll take pictures of a room full of ppl sitting at tables trading pins and more ppl standing at hour long lines to trade pins off of pin boards. Lol. Other than that not really much you have not seen already. They preveiwed everything at d23 and it hasn't changed in 3 weeks. Will look for new stuff tomorrow.

I was suppose to be there . If anyone can snag me a Cinderella designer pin , I'd be most appreciative . I have some new traders and I'm parting with a lot of my Tinker Bells from my collection . Hubby surprised me with a Cinderella doll . I will be at the CNJPT event in October .

Day 2 We' re trading and trading oh yeah and we're trading. Not going anywhere near the boards the lines are way too long and there wasn't much on them. Will post some pics when I have internet on the computer and not just the phone.

They have announced next year's theme, but no dates. It's Mickey's Circus. As a Dumbo collector, that makes my wallet nervous.

Only 3 phone calls from the parents today. I was very excited to hear that my Dad got me the Classic D - Monorail pin off the board. I missed out on getting it when it was for sale. I seem to have done some excellent board trading even though I am in Colorado. On Day 1, they got me the 60th Anniversary Alice in Wonderland AP pin, and maybe a Dumbo AP pin (my Mom is deciding if she is keeping it for herself), and a couple resort camera AP pins.

OMG! MUST go!! I hope they translate that well. I am a huge fan of circus memorabilia so if you combine that with Disney... oh boy! Gotta start saving asap!!

This year's tickets went on sale on April 6th. Then you have about a month to register and qualify for the early bird discount.

When do they give out the dates? We plan on going and want to get the hotel with DVC soon. This will be our first WDW event

Normally, they announce the dates at the event. My Dad did say that someone from the UK did ask when there would be dates so they could get flights booked, and they said that they hope to have dates next week. Stay tuned to ODPT for updates. We'll see if they deliver or not.

My parents also talked to Alex Maher and they are already working on the pins. He said that they've been having lots of fun, and lots of ideas when the pin team was told the theme. And it should end up being very colorful.

That sounds awesome! Hopefully I'll be able to attend. I adore the theme!

Is anyone looking to sponsor someone? Unless the pins are fabulous I probably won't go without a sponsor.

Everyone needs to start saving! The concept poster was of Mickey as the ring leader. There is so much possibility for this theme. I had an amazing
time at the event. The boards were full of AP's and LE's. I traded at the boards for two days straight and never waited longer than 45-50 min at the peek hrs. Everyone in line was so helpful to each other. They would hold your place for a potty break and cheer when you pulled a good pin. I really couldn't believe how much good stuff was on the boards. It was hard to make a choice most turns. We also did a lot of trading in the lines while waiting so time flew! It was a great time!
