Hi there,

Lately there have been a few folks asking a few questions about PT in general and specifics for PTNs and online trading,

sooooo, I thought :"you know someone should hold an open forum to discuss and help any of our new folks with questions they might have?:"

And being the multi personality that I am i answered myself and said:"who would do that? and Then who would want to participate?"

Well I answered my self by saying"WEll Im not an expert but i do think that I could answer some of the questions and any others in chat could help if

they wanted to, but who would show up to ask questions?"

So is there any intrest in this?

Please reply below if you would like to see this/participate in this/be involved in this type of discussion.

I love the idea of a set topic to be discussed in the chat room at a specific time...

There are so many topics we love to debate and discuss, so why not do it all together in chat at the same time...

I would love to take part and give my view from a trader who has been doing this for a while...

This would be good for all traders to discuss, not just the newer ones...

Heck, I can think of 20 topics to discuss right off the top of my head...

This should be a weekly thing with new topics every week...

I would love to see this and would welcome insight from those willing to share their experience in pin trading. if Goofy_Moe has 20 topics to share I have 20 times I'd like to hear about them. A new topic each week would be great!
 
i thought the same thing, every week could be a different topic, with maybe a guest host, this way no one persons PINology is preached, instead each of us gives the knowledge we have and share with each other,

I guess its kinda a virtual PTN without the virtual pins..Trader,collectors, hobbist sharing in the obsession we all share!!

off to find a minion scribe to start my notes for Fri as well as begin planning for future "PINAHOLICS ANYNONaMOUSE" topics.....

MMiano -- fear not as the topics progress Im sure you will be available, and besides I guarantee this one will be repeated, look at the DPF membership numbers, we are always gaining new members!!!

however for the time, think of what you might learn,

some folks have been at this "pinsanity" for a very long time, and their knowledge and advice is bound to be worth hearing or heeding, think of the time, MONEY, energy, and brain cells that this could help you with.

I know we all read way too many threads and hear far to much about the bad and bs in this forum,
This is a chance for us all to both help and benefit each member of DPF , in an ongoing and ever growing way,

Many of us have joked about a PInaholics Anynonamouse but essentially this is what the in chat discussions will be,
Us talking and laughing and sharing the one thing that bonds us all together , Our love of the shiny metals !!

Lol... I would probably have to suggest we have a MOD in the chat room for a few of my ideas of topics to discuss... Bwahaha... I can see it getting quite vocal on some debates...

It's not I don't want to join, it's just with job + time difference, I'm not sure I will be able to do it :)
 
I'd be down to join in the chat. I'm always in favor of helping new traders understand the complex and mysterious world of Disney Pins. Heck, I even have some questions to ask and I've been collecting/trading for awhile too!

Goofy_Moe, I am realllly interested in your 20 topics now. We'd need a mod in the chat for them? Interesting!

i suppose a summerize post could be made, sorta a readers digest version of the roundtable, or cybertable if you will?
Thanks for your support and question, maybe we can vary the times to allow other timezones/countries to be included, this week Fri 10, two weeks, WEds at 7am est, its worth considering ,,,,,

Perhaps you can create a poll on what day of the week and what time best suits most members...

I think a set schedule would work best for long term success of it... Same day, same time, same place, and a new topic... You can announce the new topic during the week and those who wish to participate would show up... I bet quite a few would...

I posted about this several months ago on the anything goes forum,I was actually going to set up another chatroom(FREE)so we could do it there for the newbies only!!that way they were not confused with other members chatting about other things,I was going to do a weekly one...

No one responded,I had a couple PM me and said the chatroom was too full and it was getting confusing when they were there without the chat going on
Thats why I was going to create a seperate chatroom,and NEW members would PM me for the link that were interested...I was going to do trivia for fun and get a 'GET to Know"q/A

another excellent idea, and just for us newbies!!! i tend to feel rather clueless when people post and are able to know others on first name basis, know their wants and likes and what they have to trade, who lives where and goes to parks for pins, etc, etc etc. i know this comes with time, i just feel uncomfortable jumping in to discussions or threads. it seems i might as well be posting "hi. i don't know what the h*** i'm doing yet, i have no worthwhile traders and might not recognize a scrapper if said so on the back with a perimeter:dunno: just my .02$
 
For this first go round we will stick with the 10pm time , just to make notes of what we need to do to make it work best, hows that???

Those that can make it are very welcome, those that cant, fear not,
we<the DPF verse,> seems to be of a mind that maybe varing/alternative times would be available....

But lets just have fun and do this first one and make sure we can accomplish at least these things;

A> to see how it works and what we can do TOGETHER to make it better!

B>what doesnt work and what we dont need to do.

C>if we can help folks out a bit


D> Have a buttload of fun<do not ask or pm me for the metric or standard measurements plz>
 
should be on. This is an awesome idea. I have been struggling trying to trade. Iam very gratefull for everyone on DPF. They have made it easy to trade. I have tried a PTE at the Contemporary and felt overwhelmed. I am scared to trade on Pin Pics because I don't want to offend anyone by offering a bad trade. Thanks Lucan for doing this.
