Frozen Disney Store Merchandise, What are you looking forward to? (Contains Spoilers)
Aquat commented on these on my facebook and said "omg all the red heads!!" and I seriously just realized that all my dolls were all gingery / red heads! LOL!
Out of the three I think Anna is my favorite, I don't know why but she is just so beautiful.

I realized that, too, one day. I was looking up at Ariel, Merida, and Merida/Elinor--and thinking about Anna's arrival--when I realized most of my 17" dolls are redheads. I primarily collect Merida merchandise. With Elsa's arrival, she and Elinor are the odd ones out.

I have dark red hair.

My mom said that growing up, it was hard to find brunette dolls. Most dolls were blonde. She had a rag doll named Annie with red thread or yarn for hair. I was like, please don't tell me you named me after Raggedy Anne. Anyway, ever since she told me that, I have tried to buy her dark haired dolls. When they reissued Cabbage Patch, I bought her a brunette. I've bought her Amish dolls with brown hair, fairy dolls with dark hair, etc. I guess some of us gravitate to the doll with similar hair. However, my mom's fav princess is Cinderella, so she is the only blonde I buy Mom.

Only Belle is a brown haired girl and of the dolls only two princesses have brown hair, Belle and Wedding Rapunzel are the only dolls with brown hair (and Rapunzel doesn't count so much as a brown haired girl because everyone thinks of her as the blonde).

Does the world hate brown hair? Growing up I had a hard time finding both dolls and starring characters in shows or doll lines that were brown haired. They were all blondes, redheads, and a few black haired girls. No brown haired girls except "nerds" like Velma in Scooby Doo who were not supposed to be pretty. And even now Disney only has one truly brown haired princess in the line up. I was surprised they didn't make Anna a brunette because we have have very recent redheads and blondes. I continue to wonder if brown hair is disliked in animation or that people don't see them as princess material. Oh wait, we do have Sophia now! But she's not really in the leading lady line up and doesn't really fit the right age I am talking about.

I've actually thought Disney was missing out by redoing a lot of combinations for princesses- there are no princesses with blond or red hair with brown eyes, nor are there any with brown/dark hair and lighter coloured eyes. It's not a huge deal as I tend to like the princesses for their personalities and stories rather than their looks, but I know that little kids are drawn to characters that resemble themselves. In that case, the closest I have is Rapunzel as she has green eyes, brown hair (well, sort of) and light freckles, but it's also just not quite right as she is a blonde for the majority of the movie and her brown hair is too light (mine is about a shade lighter than black). But I always think "Oh well, just gives them more excuses to make princess movies!"

Actually, I notice a lot of the Disney heroines have that sort of look- Meg, Jane, Esmeralda, etc. but no princesses! Oh well, there's always Once Upon a Time for alternate princess looks ala Snow White and Belle

Just got back from the movies and OMG!!! I loved every minute of it!!! Olaf and Sven are SUPeR cute!!! I REALLY hope DS makes a toddler Kristoff!!!!!!! Beautiful animation and it plays like a musical, like Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Little Mermaid and so on;) I went to a cinemark but there were NO frozen cups:(

Anybody go to the movie and notice if 'Let it Go' is more like the album or the World of Color version? I really want it to be beautifully dramatic like the WoC!

Not sure if this helps, but it was exactly the track on the album, I'm 99% sure. I have listened to it so much that I would have been able to tell if something was different, especially since I don't even really know what the WOC sounded like since I haven't watched it much. It was really powerful though and fit so well with the animation and the moment I thought and didn't need much more. It didn't lack anything to my ears because I think the WOC version goes a little over the top at times and distracts from the meaning of the words behind her emotion, but that is just my opinion.

For those who have seen the movie I think there needs to be a kristoff singing doll of his one song in the movie!!!!!
Who votes yes?!?! I need a kristoff singing doll!!!!

Okay, so this might not be the best place for my opinion about the movie but I feel that there was way too much singing. It was almost like, again with the singing, for me. I thought it was funny as heck and I loved the movie in general but - ohmysweetlittletinybabyjesus - there was just way too much singing. My friend told me that it's because they made the movie to be made into a Broadway type musical once it's time as opposed to making a musical out of a movie. Well, that definitely explains it, but by mid-movie I was so ready for them to stop with the singing. I do, though, love "do you want to build a snowman?" Made me cry.

It was a really good movie! It kinda felt like something was missing but I'm not sure what. May be I just felt like it needed more Elsa.....but it still was really good. All of the music was really good as well. I will definitely be buying this movie to add to my Disney collection!

I LOVED the movie, I think it was absolutely fantastic and so beautifully done. It really touched my heart and as someone who has a sister it has earned a special spot in my favorites from Disney. I enjoyed the songs very much, however I have to express that I do not think the songs are at the same level as the ones in The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Lion King. It is the same in the sense in that the movie has a lot of songs and is a musical animated film. While the movie was wonderful and so were the songs, I really think that saying that this movie is at the same level as the ones they have been comparing them too is a bit over the top. Again, I am not saying it was a bad movie on the contrary it is definitely extraordinary and for sure an instant classic, but the promotions for this movie have constantly compared the move to the best musical animated films Disney has and while it was amazing and the songs were great, collectively they are not as great as TLM, BatB and the Lion King. I think they were doing this because the movie is definitely a musical and it screams Broadway, but with TLM and BatB all the songs have a wow factor with Frozen I did not feel that wow factor with all the songs.
The movie is amazing though and I cannot wait for it to be released on Bluray! I am so in love with Elsa! I love Anna too though, she is adorable. I am absolutely in love with this movie, so cute and so funny. I am driving my husband crazy singing "Let it go". He was making jokes telling me how I already knew the song even before the movie came out, lol. I have not stopped singing and humming it since we got back and I think he is about to go sleep in the car, haha!

Ok.. I just watched the movie twice in a row (first time ever... my family can't know!!) Got a free ticket after I pre-ordered my ticket and I said, eh. Use it for Frozen.

Let it go was incredibly disappointing. BUT! I am creating a new thread under misc and it will include ALL the discussion about the movie that does not have to do with Merchandise.

I'm so excited, DS UK just got more stock of the LE dolls in after their initial mess up on the pricing! I have an Anna on the way to me :D

Very jealous of everyone seeing the film already, less over a week to go here!

I checked out Target today and I saw a very cute Elsa in her coronation dress doll. I haven't seen much of Elsa in her coronation dress so it totally caught my eye.

Disney UK put some of the £60 LE dolls up about 2 hours ago and they haven't sold out! I was very pleased with my refund and vouchers. I'd given up on getting the singing dolls this month after how expensive the others have been but got them both and very happy :) hope those who missed out can get them now at the better price

I guess the weather is excited for Frozen! It was cold but rainy yesterday, I guess we had a snow storm overnight so everything is covered in a good 5 inches of snow or more  Excited to see the movie tonight! I'm going into it knowing that it's not going to be the same as Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, Aladdin, etc. but that's okay. Honestly, I feel like those movies have a certain feel to them because I grew up watching them when I was little, so I've sort of thought that nothing will come out that's better (in my mind, anyways). That being said, I really enjoyed Tangled, really really enjoyed it, and I absolutely love Idina Menzel so I feel like my expectations will be met and possibly exceeded. I was hoping for the WoC version of 'Let it Go' since it was just spine-tingling awesome and reminded me of Wicked, so I'm really hoping that the background sounds and everything make the music more dramatic in the movie. No judging, but I'm totally wearing my snowflake hairband and also a blue sequin tank top tonight xD

Disneystore.com is having free shipping today with any Frozen purchase. I'm really tempted by that, but I really want that fleece blanket and it just isn't on the site anymore :( I want the Elsa tshirt too, but I'm afraid I haven't worn a Disney tshirt in like 10 years so I don't know how their sizing works. Normally I wear a medium in American Apparel shirts, but I hear Disney shirts run a bit small, so would I have to go up a size? Ugh, so many Frozen things I want, I need to quit school and get a job to pay for it all!
