Frozen Disney Store Merchandise, What are you looking forward to? (Contains Spoilers)
You would have thought that after Christmas Disney would have realized how things were selling and would have made producing more items a priority.....but at the moment I am thinking no. However, every day or so something new or something restocked has made it back up on the site.

I know the chances are slim but am hoping when the buy one plush get one for $1 sale is ver, there will be more plush back in stock including the frozen ones for their normal buy 2 at $16 each. My daughter really wants the Elsa one and I would like Sven. Wish the uk store shipped outside the European countries

As a person who has worked for a large company in an accessories design team - I want to explain a few things.
First of all I can garuntee that Frozen merch would be at the top of Disneys list, however, they will probably be stockpiling it for the DVD release otherwise they would run out AGAIN before the DVD came out.

Secondly, there are many many many many many many many MANY other factors that impact on ordering merchandise and how factories work. Factories get booked for manufacturing, and around Christmas time they are booked very early so I would imagine there couldn't be enough time to book for frozen merch. Also factories close for Chinese New Year - meaning a time where nothing is made. Disney has to have enough merchandise to not only stock every Disney stre across America and the UK, their warehouses for the online stores around the world, every store in every park that is selling the merchandise and enoug left over to keep these places stocked.

Yes things sold out but they had A LOT of merchandise, it just sold very quickly in comparison to other things, I just wish more people put this into perspective before they say things like "Disney has connections why can't they just ring china and get more dolls?" - actual quote from a guest.

Its not as simple as just making more dolls, they need hundreds of thousands of dolls, things are coming and people just need to be patient.

rest assured, this will be Disneys priority.

Thank you katelouise for that post. People need to realize that replenishing and selling Frozen merchandise IS their TOP priority. They know how well the movie is doing and they are doing everything they can to make as much money off of it. People just think with a wave of a wand we can have a supply of Elsa dolls or dresses (believe me, as a cast member, I wish that was the truth. I am so tired of saying no to people and receiving their backlash.) However there are many things that go into ordering this merchandise. First it has to be made, and not only shipped to warehouses for disneystore.com, but to hundreds of stores around the world. And with the HUGE success and popularity of Frozen it is very difficult to keep up with this. The second the merchandise hits the floor, it is gone. Believe me, I have witnessed this first hand with Elsa dresses, Anna and Elsa dolls, Olaf plush, and figurine sets.

The fact that we have had replenishment of a lot of this product is amazing enough. My manager made a very good point and told me that when Princess and the Frog and Tangled came out they had one big wave of merchandise for the movie release, and that was it. Due to high popularity they didn't see things again for months. Disney was VERY well prepared for Frozen and made much more merchandise for the movie than previous films. We have gotten many shipments of dolls, dresses, and plush for Frozen. The most she said she had ever seen. But we just can't keep it on the shelves. The movie is EXTREMELY popular and stuff sells out in an instant.

So please everyone be patient and understanding. Frozen is Disney's biggest priority right now. And continues to grow larger. Things will be back online and in stores as fast as they can be.

Just for now remember to appreciate the film. Yes there are some cool things to own from this movie, but don't lose sight of the actual movie itself. It means much more than any mug, doll, or plush. And certainly much more than getting angry or upset because you can't buy something from it.

I'm so sorry to hear that cast members are getting backlash from guests simply because there isn't always merch in stock :( While I'm disappointed sometimes when something isn't available, I never find it reason to get upset with the CMs

I appreciated your entire post (and katelousies as well) but I especially like this point. The merch initially intrigued me about the movie (and it was surprising how much more they seem to have before the theatrical release than any other movie I can remember) but the actual movie didn't need the merch hype- I loved it all on its own. ^.^

I keep reading people feeling the movies overrated or just way too hype, but I'm personally just not of that opinion. I get the hype because I sincerely love everything about the movie and I can see why others would feel the same - it's a good movie. ;D The merchandise will keep on coming if we are patient and eventually there will be enough to go around. But whether there is plentiful merch or not, we always have the movie to enjoy <3

It's interesting to read about how things work, thanks for the information katelouise and HausofDe-Vil! And I think it helps a lot to be more patient :)
I'm glad Frozen is doing so well but I wish we had a Disney Store here but Hungary is too small... Maybe a travelling Disney Store for all the countries where there isn't one? But I suppose that would cost far too much.
I'm hoping to get the Frozen minis one day, especially the girls.

I agree, I keep seeing posts on disney store UKs Facebook like "WHY DIDNT YOU MAKE ENOUGH STOCK?!? You should know how popular your movies are" but look at wreck it Ralph.. Barely anything sold out and it eventually went on sale! But frozen stuff is selling out immedietely... I also keep seeing posts like " when is blah blah coming back in stock I have a VERY unhappy child" and I just keep thinking what a spoilt brat

It's interesting that Denmark doesn't experience the same stock issues. The Classic Elsa and Singing Elsa doll sold out in the beginning of January, but besides that, most things are still in stock at the website (the actual Disney store didn't have anything Elsa last I was there XD).
There's still all the plushes, the Elsa and Anna costume and etc. We never had the journal though...

Does the fact that its hard to get the merch (before its sold out), and then seeing how high prices are on the secondary market, make you want it more or less? Honestly the craziness of the Frozen merch has kind of turned me off on collecting Frozen stuff. The things like some of the dolls that I missed out on, are so crazily priced on the secondary market that I dont think Ill ever be able to afford/find them at a decent price.

Also, it seems that since Frozen merchandise is selling for such high prices on the secondary market, every time new stuff is available the Ebay sellers, etc. buy so much in addition to the normal shoppers and Frozen fans that it drives up the demand even further, and thus, increasing the prices even more. A never ending circle.

A little of both. At least I'm not that much into general merchandise - since I'm all about the dolls. But, to be honest my doll craze started when I in the beginning of January looked at the classic Elsa doll and thought she was gorgeous - but then I was like "what would you even do with her?" so I let her be, then the next day she was sold out and then I realized how much I wanted her. Especially after seeing the crazy prices on ebay - I was happy I got her & Anna for retail price on Japanese auctions, which is around the time that I decided that I wanted the other classic dolls - which led to the LE dolls. But, I do feel like the Frozen craze needs to die down soon. It's getting old... XD

Frozen is the best thing to happen to scalpers since.... since...
... I have no idea, but they're having a ball.

I know I missed on the Classic dolls too. I floundered about getting them and then missed out. Lesson learned, if you see it and want it. Get it then!! If you dont want it later you can trade it.

Yes! Exactly, I think that is what Frozen have taught us - make quick decisions, if you linger too long, somebody else is going to buy it ...
But, I guess the Classic dolls should be back at some point. Might take some time, ... but since they're not limited edition, I think everyone will get their 2nd (or 3rd) chance.

My heart keeps wishing for a Kristoff or Hans LE doll, but brain is screaming "NO!"

This is my dream/nightmare. Because, especially in the case of Kristoff, I want want want want want. But my wallet, my limited available space, and my blood pressure do not want to deal with another stressful LE Frozen doll acquisition.

This is definitely what I am hoping, though hoping they keep the details on elsa`s dress with the snowflakes not like the other set they made (the one at jcpenny) without the snowflakes on them

And I really hope they either bring back the snowglobe, or make a new one!

I don't know what some of you are talking about I been hunting and found stuff here and there.

You just gotta know when to go to the stores.. mind you I have yet to find Snow globe and olaf or sven plush
I have been finding things here and there too. Singing Elsa and Elsa mug within the last three weeks at my DS stores. They had the two singing Elsas up at the register. I thought they were being held for someone, but luckily they were not.
