Frozen Disney Store Merchandise, What are you looking forward to? (Contains Spoilers)
OMG vinyls?! Somebody get me a paper bag.

I really want to order these but I'm afraid to after reading reviews (all bad) of the company. People have complained that they never received their orders of other items and that customer service is non-existent. There are a LOT of complaints. I don't want to pay $70-90 on something I may never get. I would order this in a heartbeat if I knew I wasn't throwing my money away.

Disneyland Paris has (or had, I'm not sure, I saw them once, and the next 2 times I was there *poof* gone) a vinylmation set of 2 in a box, Anna & Elsa.

Milaya is correct, the designer line is a special line of dolls that Disney releases each year around what is considered doll season (Aug-Oct). They originated back in 2011 during the D23 expo with the Designer Princesses which featured 10 princesses including Rapunzel the newest princess at the time. It was also from this release that the term dollmageddon was coined and due to the high volume of collectors that were unable to buy the dolls due to either the site crashing or the sheer number of people lining up for them in store. Each year from there Disney has released a different designer line. 2012 featured the villains and it was followed by the designer fairytale line which featured the princes of each princess in 2013.

This year we are expecting the second part of the fairytale line as the one released last year only featured Belle, Jasmine, Ariel, Rapunzel and Snow White. So this year we are expecting Cinderella, Aurora, Tiana, Mulan and Pocahontas. In terms of an Elsa and Anna designer it is very likely that they will release one but probably not until 2015 because this year will feature princesses with their prince (which Elsa does not have, it would be a nice surprise if they did Anna and Kristoff as a surprise but who knows as it is too early to tell). Also next year is an expo year which means that they will generally try to feature princesses in the designer line. You should also expect to see Merida featured in the line as well since she is a "new" princess since the original designer princess line was created so I would see the Disney Store hearing a lot of demand for the three girls to be featured in a designer line.

I actually did an informative thread similar to the LE dolls for the designers but it never got stickied. Here is the link:

The way I see even if something does happen it is backed by Disney since they requested the company to do it. It is always possible that those that comment are just the ones that were really agitated by the service and those that had a good experience did not bother? Even if something were to go wrong you would not be throwing your money away as I figured either 1) you get the items, or 2) they refund you back your money so it is no real loss.

But again that is up to you to decide either way, I just think that because they are LE and numbered that once they do sell out then that is it, either you buy them on the secondary market or you regret not buying them in the first place. I try not reading reviews about things like this because I can never tell what the reviewer's situation was.

These actually went on sale in the US quite some time ago, I think around late November last year? It featured Anna and Elsa in a box set and then there was an Olaf one in a box that wherein you had a chance to get either the Winter Olaf or the Summer Olaf. I think the Summer Olaf was the rarer of the two.

Anna and Elsa were limited 1,500 and Olaf was 2,500 but there was a 9/10 chance of getting a Winter Olaf but a 1/10 chance of getting the Summer Olaf.

Also next year is an expo year which means that they will generally try to feature princesses in the designer line.

I'm planning on going to the expo for the first time next year. From what I've read here and other places they have released special edition dolls just for the expo in the past. So they do that every year? And what are your chances of being able to purchase them - I mean, do they normally have a lot of sets to sell or is it just a few?

Even if something were to go wrong you would not be throwing your money away as I figured either 1) you get the items, or 2) they refund you back your money so it is no real loss.

That's what I'm afraid of -- so many people never got their item OR their money back. I was hoping to find at least one person who had a good experience with the company, or someone else who had maybe ordered these. I guess I'll just have to decide whether I want to take the risk it or not.

The expo is bi-annual so every other year. Also if you do plan on going expect to be waiting in lines most of your time there. I spent 8 hours in line (from 5am to about 1pm) just to get into the Disney store to buy the gold Snow White. Also yes usually if there is an expo you are given the opportunity to pre-purchase the entire designer set. When I was there due to the cost of the set not very many people preordered them so they lasted well into the second day of the expo. Maybe even the third? I cannot remember because I didn't check but yet they lasted a while.

well the company is backed by Disney so I would assume that if you ark up enough they will do something. Also it is a Disney product so Disney's reputation is on the line too.

Honestly...I'm slightly terrified that there will be the D23 Expo next year and they will have an Expo Exclusive Designer Elsa doll. I am betting she will be GORGEOUS because Silver->Gold->Diamond/Platinum. No matter Diamond or Platinum, she will be STUNNING! BUT! I am hoping there isn't because it will be a very scary blood bath for both employees and guests. Hopefully they will just play up the Aladdin stuff because it's a princess movie and very boy/girl friendly...giving us much more recovery time.

I hope if there is a designer snow queen Elsa, that it will be available to order online.

Not sure of this D23 meaning, but I am in Germany and need to be able to order online as we do not even have disney store anymore, sadly!

I would desperately want that doll

I explained what D23 was earlier. Also not saying that there will be an exclusive Elsa but if there was one it would just be a different color scheme to an existing doll in the line up as was the case with the silver Cinderella (an exclusive edition of the normal blue one) and the golden snow (an exclusive edition of the normal snow and the prince).

so if they were going to have a d23 exclusive it would just be a different color to one that will be available online as well.

Man.. I want to go to D23 so bad...
But I heard that it's basically like throwing all your money and savings into an empty void. Expensive tickets, long lines...

LOL pretty much haha, its tough because you have to choose one or the other, go to the Disney Store or line up for a show or event. The frustrating thing is that even though Disney said you cannot line up outside until 5am people still lined up, so you were pretty much lining up for a place in line :S. It was rather ridiculous and required a lot of patience...haha

While I also agree this is true (from hearing stories and reading experiences), there's still a sense of magic and mystery that's perceived when you're not "in the club". I'd love to go once.

LOL dont get me wrong it was still fun and cool to be there but you just have to be patient because there is going to be a lot of lines and waiting in line. Also once I finished up at the DS I was able to walk around and check out so many of the other stalls and events being held at the expo which was fun. It can get pretty tiring though and I did leave for a bit to grab some lunch (since I didnt really want to buy any food from the expo as I wanted something more substantial haha).

There is a lot to do and see though so it is pretty fun especially if you are a Disney fan.

I'm hoping to save up for the 2015 expo it's my dream to go at least once! It also coincides with disneylands 60th year and I really want to go and see what they do to celebrate as I went during the 50th anniversary

I will never get to go living in the Uk, but don't think I would spend money to line up all day lol, I'd rather save money from tickets/getting their etc to just buy the exclusive doll on eBay, yes it will be more expensive but at least didn't have to line up for hours on end! I'd like to see the shows though, and I bet it's good, but I can't stand waiting in line! When we go to a theme park and the line is over an hour, I end up wanting to leave lol. I feel like if I had spent hours in the line for say the gold Snow White betime I got it I would be that annoyed of waiting to enjoy the experience.

yeah it was insane! when I went last year, I stayed at the Marriott next door and OMG. i looked outside my window and there was a CRAZY line forming..at 5am! and they were lining up, up the street to get a good place in line to get in .

I've been to all 3 expos, and while hundreds of people lined up for the chance to purchase exclusive merch (mainly for this last expo...there was almost nothing for purchase at the first expo), I almost always opted to see the panels/performances. And while I knowingly missed out on pins and dolls, I was fortunate to hear Idina Menzel perform live, which in my opinion, was well worth the wait.

That is defiantly worth the wait! Tbh it's pretty much a once in a lifetime experience! Queuing for dolls though when you could be seeing performances/panels and then just get the dolls later is what baffles me.

Well I guess different people have different priorities. Also what was actually unfair was that people that had lined up for the Arena were allowed into the center earlier than everyone else. Then what they did was they had family stay in line whilst they went around to all the different stalls. The thing is because the Center was not officially open to the public yet all these people had the advantage and were able to cut in line at both the Disney Store and the Dream Store before anyone could even get in which meant that they were first in line over everyone else that had originally lined up to get into the expo first. So they did all this whilst still retaining their place in line for the shows. It caused a huge uproar but by the time Disney could do something it was too late.

That is the one thing that really annoyed me about the expo, those that were honest and did the right thing paid the price and those that did the wrong thing were rewarded for doing so.

Why would they not put the title on lol?

Whoa, I'm way late to answer this question but here it is anyway.

This steelbook is being released in other regions where the title has a different name (different languages and such) so instead of Disney forking out the cash to put on the various titles, they're just making one cover and then having the carrier put in the appropriate disks. They did the same with Monsters U.

So finally the Japanese Disney store has announced that they will start selling Frozen merchandise from March 14th. Have no idea what they're going to sell though. I hope there's something I like since customers buying from the Disney store from March 14th gets a nice Frozen post card.
From today, customers buying for more than 30 dollars gets Frozen stickers - but unfortunately the Online store is excluded at that deal... (and I was going to buy the new Belle necklace and some other stuff, so I will spend 30 USD - too bad I can't go to the an actual store)

Where did you find this information? I know they are doing a sort of quiz from the 14th but didn`t see anything about selling things.

Looks like they are likely to get the animator dolls as they are listed as a prize for the quiz so would assume the Disney Store would sell those as well

Far down on the bottom of the Quiz page it says - 「アナと雪の王女」グッズは3月14日に発売予定. - ("Frozen" Goods are scheduled for sales on March 14th.)
I also felt sure they would get the animator dolls, since they sold the previous animator dolls (except for Tiana), but on the quiz page the dolls are marked as
非売品 (Not for sale). So I'm not sure what they're planning to do, really.
I'm trying not to hope for any good stuff - since I'll probably be disappointed, but since I'm a girl and I love their other jewelry, I am hoping for some future Frozen jewelry.
