So, here it is...only two releases?! The last one must have a surprise Jessica calendar release as well. Shame there are no Mr Banks ones!

What does everyone think....?

seems a bit...ummm....lacking compared to past releases, and especially around xmas - cant help but feel they may be holding something back?? or having a few surprise releases???? was hoping for more...

Oh NO!!! TWO Jessicas in ONE month!?!?! :banghead:  I am giving up on trying t on get the other three pins from the December 6th release and just TRY to get the two Jessica pins for December!!! :x: If anyone can help me with one OR both Jessica pins in my price range, I would greatly appreciate it! :D

Maybe something fell through? When they released the Dec 6th "preview," weren't the pix in a neat little row? And now they're "staggered" to fill in the giant empty space. Maybe they were intending to do two more releases and either the pins were delayed or something else came up.

I have the Jessica from the Dec 6th release if you want it. $17 + $2 for shipping (also have the Bears and Jack/Sally as well). I won't be in town for the 20th release, but if they linger past Xmas I can grab one of those too (not sure if the Jess pin will last that long or not...)

It could just be the mayhem of rebuilding it and all... Hopefully they'll get into a good stride in Jan/Feb once things have settled down a little.

I've heard rumors that there's been some controversy over how veteran employees were treated recently, and some of the pin regulars have stopped buying DSF pins because of that... No idea how true it is, but things have certainly changed since the re-opening (although Frozen seemed to be an exception...). People just don't seem to come out for _every_ release anymore.

5am releases in freezing weather I'm sure aren't helping either. If they can't figure out a way to get back to 9am releases, this trend won't change at least until the weather warms up...

Interesting reading everyone's thoughts and theories. I myself have no idea what's going on. The delay in the flyer and pin releases was odd. And the not so great pins also makes me a little nervous. We will see what happens. Not sure what to make of all of it, if anything at all. I won't be there in the morning to get these pins but if a PTD I like pops up and I am there for that, I will see what's left and maybe buy if they look better in person

that was so utterly predicable. I think i even said in chat that december would have a christmas release, and a new years release. With Jessica.... Oi.

So it's a friday release. if someone WANTS a set, i can go. I do not think this will be an insane release and am willing to brave to cold with my kids for a set or two for my DPF peeps.

Those pins are not very exciting. Do not like the new years ones at all. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that something fell through and they had some bigger and better releases planned. Maybe they are trying to avoid big crowds in the early morning hours and will just randomly release some super cool pins? We can hope.

Uhhhh... wow... the 20th's pin are super underwhelming :/ Buttttttt I guess that's a good thing bc my wallet is safe

I haven't heard anything about the employees making people boycott GSF BUT I'm not shocked about the lack of attendance recently, I mean, besides Frozen, the releases have been...well...REALLY lackluster. The only times people ever show up to clean house all the pins are pretty much when a big movie gets its own release, these small monthly ones never cut it which I'm fine with :)

The employees didn't make anyone do anything, I had just heard that several of veteran 'attends every pin release' collectors stopped going once they heard about the employee situation. It was their choice, they were so disgusted by what happened that they've just not enjoyed being there anymore, so they don't go.

I heard this from people that were actually there for a release, not the people supposedly not going, so make what you will of that... I don't attend enough of them in person to notice.

It's just possible that it's one of several factors that when all combined together has seemingly reduced the popularity of the pins released there. Really popular pins will still be really popular, but it's been a long time since more than one release in a row hasn't completely sold out during the event, not matter how 'plain' the pins were. Even the Frozen marquee pin didn't sell out to the first 500 people, which kind of surprised me since it was the second most valuable (in resale) pin after the surprise one...

Sorry, I wrote that wrong, I meant that the employee thing made people boycott them. I knew that the employees didn't force anyone  Sorry about that.
