I recently received one of mine and when I opened it, I was just "meh". And it was sooo disappointing! Because I was so excited to get it and had wanted it for so long and here it was and I just didn't like it (in person) as much as the pinpics pictures. But there have been lots of pins I've put on my wants list because I thought they were just alright and then when I get them I totally love them. So I shouldn't be surprised it works the other way. It was just so disappointing because it was one of my most wanted.

Has this happened to anyone else? Did you keep it or trade it away?

It happened to me at the FL Project. I teach archery and when I saw this pin I wanted to trade for it.

While the other trader was looking through my book I noticed an error on the pin. The string was behind his arm not in front! Mickey looked like an amateur! Now I know most people would never notice this but being an archer I did. Brought the pin from a 10 to a 0. I did not trade for it and took it off my wants list when I got home. Very disappointing as I was looking forward to adding it to my archery pin collection.

The big one for me was the rafiki holding stitch up...I loved the pin in pictures since i love rafiki and stitch. Once I got it (payed for it) I was very disappointed and ended up trading it for a few of my wants, sad thing is I kinda want it again now

I find that I sometimes change my mind when I see other views of the pin than just what is posted on pinpics. If I go browsing for a pin on Ebay, sometimes I'll see a photo someone took that will influence me either for or against a pin I'm on the fence about.

When I received my Holy grail No.3, Disney Girls Rapunzel Reveal/Conceal pin- I was definitely "I spent (X amount of money) on THIS?" SON I AM DISAPPOINT!

Don't get me wrong, I really like it- but I am afraid of holding it or putting it on something i'd wear that day....for fear of losing such an extremely rare and costly pin. Which takes the fun out of having it if I cannot display it proudly on my chest like a medal of honour, and as most of the pins I own- describe a part of my personality- this pin does just that, but only radiates it's purpose on it's personal royal pin throne.

Well I wanted this pin for a very long time and was probably my realistic "Holy Grail" at the time. It was the most expensive pin i had bought at that time hitting in the $20 range lol. When I got it i have to say I really don't like it that much, theres nothing that special and its smaller :/ It's to bad to because I was trying to hunt it down at a reasonable price for about a year. I thinks its weird that I loved it so much in the first place because although i like the movie, im not really a dalmatian pin collector and this pin is a little bit "manly" :) Oh well there is a lot of pins that I somewhat liked their picture online but when I see them in person im floored!

so far not yet, but I have gotten pins that were so much better than the pics that they became one of my favorites.

This one for me. It was my most wanted Alice of all time. Wasn't expecting too much because it was an older pin and when I got it, it was a little less than I expected. The colors weren't so vibrant and it did look old.

Well, there are a few that I was disappointed about size, these being the top few I can think of:
pin27870

Pin 27870: WDW - This is Love - Sleeping Beauty Forest
No matter what I still love this pin, because it is stunning. But it is a tad too small. Beautiful, but tiny. lol

pin9807

Pin 9807: Disney Auctions - Valentine's Day 2002 (Jasmine and Aladdin )
I was actually looking forward to getting this whole set, but once I got the Jasmine & Aladdin one, I was severely saddened by how minuscule it was!

pin67123

Pin 67123: DLR - Create-A-Pin - Sleeping Beauty & Maleficent as the Dragon
I seriously love, love, love, love, love, love, LOVE the design of this pin and was super excited when I was able to trade for it. And then I got it into my palm, man it's like 1.5 inches wide. ):

I still like the pins, but wish they were a tad larger.

Like a lot of others, most of the pins that have disappointed me were because they were so small. And some that I thought were only OK in pictures, impressed me because they were bigger than I thought.

There was one that had Stitch and Pluto in an inner tube that was so small, it immediately went into my traders once I saw it.

I've actually been disappointed when I got a few pins and they were huge. Take this one for example.

pin25377

Nice pin but so much bigger than all the other dalmatian pins I have that I traded it away.

Yes, a bit disappointed in this pin:

I
t's actually 4 pins and they are quite tiny, compared to this set, which I also have:

Another pin I am disappointed in. I saw it in person for the first time at Friday's PTN (tried to trade for it but was not successful):
pin61937

Again, tiny! Maybe 1 - 2" at most. :(

Actually, I like the smaller one because it is a more accurate version of the stained glass window! I wish they'd make a series of all of the stained glass windows at the beginning of the movie. Would love each of them to be a single LARGE pin!!
