Heroes & villains collection first look

The Pan & Hook set is all I want from this series, and Snow & the Witch are tempting, too. The Tangled set turned out nicely, but I don't think I need any more designer dolls from this movie, same with TLM. Elsa & Hans? Meh. It'll sell well since the it's SQ Elsa, but the 17" is far superior (to all those who don't just marvel over the "latest thing"), and they look too much like the classic dolls. I wonder if they're going to be released in the order they're shown on the website (Frozen first, Peter Pan last).

Wait, why does it say the size of the dolls is up to 16"? Are they trying to say Hook is that big? With his hat on maybe. But damn I love that set!!!

Interesting how they went with Hook/Pan and Snow/the Hag to mix it up. My favorite of the sets are Ariel/Ursula and Rapunzel/Gothel. Would have loved a Jasmine/Jafar but that's just me. I'd try for one of the sets but I don't have the room. Love the artwork on all of them, even the ones I'm not interested in. Also most of them look like "why must I share space with.."

Anyone else feel like Gothel is kinda stealing the show here? She looks awesome! (Even her classic doll is one of the best IMHO)

Elsa is mehing me more than I care to admit....

I was already planning on getting Hook/Pan... this seals the deal. Definitely worth the $250. I absolutely adore Hook!!! His outfit looks amazing! Pan is just perfection, and Tink is the icing on the cake.

Was planning on getting Ariel/Ursula too, but now I'm kinda wanting Snow/Hag...

This was beyond what I expected so I'm surprised. I really am feeling the whole set (even the creepy looking Peter Pan). I'm pleasantly surprised and super happy that only Elsa and Ariel have the shiny plague. I feel like someone at Disney is having too much fun with the shine. Kind of like a newbie at Photoshop that has to add drop shadow to everything the first time they learn how.

Ahhhhhh, I'm totally going for the Punzie/Gothel set. I've not been able to get my hands on any of the Tangled LE dolls besides wedding and I love Gothel as a villain and her look in this set is to die for. I loooove how she's holding the hair possessively, it's exactly what I was hoping for! I think I'll be passing on the rest though. I love Pan and Hook with pan flying, very cool, I'm just not a peter pan collector, haha. Elsa and Hans and Ariel and Ursula definitely disappointed me, their posing and the lackluster of the "designerness" of the dolls is eh to me. Snow is pretty though!

That's me, too. I'd like to see more photos before I make up my mind.

I'm relieved that Disney didn't make Elsa D23-only, but I'm not blown away by this version of her. Also for the each of the other sets, they all have things I like about them, and things that I don't. I feel very indecisive.

Wow. I can't wait to get these sets. I was kind of hoping I wouldn't want so many of them. I think the Elsa/Hans and Ariel/Ursula are a little uninspired compared to the Snow and Rapunzel sets. They don't seem like they belong in the same series. That being said, they are still extremely pretty and I'm really happy for a collectible SQ. I think the Pan/Hook set is the only one I'll pass. The tiny Tink makes want it, but Pan's expression is a bit creepy to me. It reminds me of those old ventriloquist dummies. Also, the eye placement on the dolls seems really off in the stock photos. Maybe it'll look better in person.

I'm a little concerned I might cave and try to buy the D23 exclusive if it's not too insanely priced on Ebay since she's so different. I don't like that. If it were just a different color, or the accessories were different I could pass, but being in a completely different dress makes me want it, even though I have the 17" coronation doll. I highly doubt the price will be reasonable enough, though and I'm cutting way back on my doll spending so I can take my nieces and nephew to Disney World for a few days with their mom in December. It makes me a little queasy thinking how much I've already spent on Disney dolls this year. I bought the 3 Frozen dolls, Cinderella, Fawn, and pre-ordered Jasmine. There's 4 in this set I want, and we still don't know for certain what other dolls to expect from Aladdin. Yeah, I need to stay off of Ebay...

Helsa for the win!!

I really like the Rapunzel/Gothel and Snow White/Old Hag dolls. I don't really collect dolls so I may pass on them but I do love the artwork in this collection. I will definitely be getting myself a set of mugs and journals.

The only one I want is Peter & Hook to go with my Tinker Bell.

Okay, so here's them in the boxes.
I feel like Peter Pan/Hook is the best execution-wise. They've got them battling (which is awesome), but I'll probably pass, because I can only afford one. I like that they didn't use an actual feather for his hat, because those deteriorate over time. I love Peter's outfit, it's so detailed with the faux leaves.

Second up is Snow White and the Hag. In box they look amazing. I love Snow's outfit, the fabric choices are spot on with her and the Hag. The basket of apples is like overkill for me (in a good way). The little blanket on the hag <3! It's so cute!

Third on my list of lists is Ariel and Ursula. I really don't like Ariel's top, but I think that if you tuck it in, it'll look better? I like the fact that Ursula has little 'suction cups' a the bottom of her tentacles. I also like her necklace. It doesn't look like she has rooted eyelashes though. This is the one I will be getting, because I passed on all three Ariel dolls thus far. I don't like the tail on the 17", I didn't have money when the fairytale couple came out, and I got Rapunzel as my only doll from the Designers.

Rapunzel and Mother Gothel are fourth. This to me is overkill on the Mother Gothel front. She's gotten three dolls thus far and this looks very much like the 17". I've got both Designer Rapunzel and Mother Gothel side by side and they satisfy me more than these two.

Hans and Elsa... Hans and Elsa... These two are the worst. Elsa looks like someone took a classic doll and bedazzled it. They should have used Anna in her almost Frozen state, protecting Elsa from Hans' sword. Or Anna and Hans in love is an open door. I mean come on, Anna is the hero of the story and Elsa is trying to overcome her own demons. This is just pandering to the audience as a whole. This is so sad, but I'm saving a ton of money on this. So overall, good luck to whomever is going to get them, but it's probably not worth $130. Maybe $70 at most.

Seriously though, I cannot believe how good the Peter and Hook set looks! They even have a tiny Tinkerbell! The only problem I have with it is that I think Hook's hat could have been done a little bit better (they could have at least given him a big poofy feather that isn't sculpted). Other than that, this is easily my favorite of the bunch, and the only one I truly want. The other dolls look very beautiful as well (that Gothel is friggin amazing) and I am glad that they turned out better than most of us expected. The only one that I don't care for is the Elsa and Hans set. They look waaaay too much like the original classic dolls to me.

I really like all these sets, especially the Peter Pan and Snow White set. I doubt I would be able to get the Snow White set right away, but I doubt it will go up in price on eBay.

Yeah it is presumed to be a D23 exclusive. The leaked pictures had the D23 exclusive sticker on the packaging. We will probably hear more about that once the actual expo begins.

lordofanime pretty much sums up my reactions when I saw the set..

I was really looking forward to SQ Elsa because I missed out on the 17-inch version but this really does just look like someone took the classic dolls, added rooted eyelashes and put a bunch of rhinestones on her dress.
I absolutely love everything Ariel but hates her top in this. Why couldn't they just give her a glamed-up seashell bra??
Rapunzel's concept art is absolutely gorgeous but why can't they get the dress color right?? Her bottom skirt color is way to light that it looks faded. I do love her face sculpt the best though - her eyes aren't as round as the other previous ones so she doesn't have that deer-in-headlight look.
I am pleasantly surprised by Snow and Peter sets but I don't like the characters enough to spend the money as well as finding space to put them.lol

Guess I'm glad I'll be saving $700 for something else unless seeing them in person at the Expo changes my mind..

Really hoping I can get a Rapunzel/ Gothel set, they are totally missing from my collection. I think they both look stunning. :x: Best of luck to everyone on their must haves! ~Aloha

As someone who missed out on the original Elsa LE 2500 heirloom doll, I would gladly purchase the Helsa set to acquire a decently acceptable substitute.
