Heroes & villains collection first look
I probably missed this, but does anyone know when they are releasing the merchandise for the Heroes vs Villains set online? I'd like to try to get the Hans/Elsa bag and the pin set, but I don't want to keep waiting up 'til 2am hoping for the merchandise to go up. I wasn't sure if they were doing it the same day as the pre-order for the entire collection or if they were being put up earlier. I can't remember how they did it the last couple of years. I feel like they came out in August, but I'm probably wrong.

Yeah, I think they did have the merchandise out first, but the release dates are later this year than it has been in a while, so I don't know if that will affect the merchandise.

In other related news, the Disneyland 60th anniversary merchandise from the parks is now available online.

The prices are still dropping - A few of the Hans/Elsa dolls are now on Ebay for Buy it Now for $400-425 including shipping.

WWYD? DH knew how much I wanted the designer Minnie Doll so he surprised me and got one on eBay for a good price. It arrived yesterday but the nameplate is missing. Other than that it's in perfect condition. I looked at the listing and it's not mentioned but you can see it in the picture but DH didn't notice. Should I file an eBay claim, resell her and get a new one or keep her and have DH make a custom name plate (he's a graphic designer)? I'm so torn. I really love the doll and don't wanna hurt DH's feelings but it really bothers me.

How can you file an eBay claim when the picture clearly shows that it is missing? Have you contacted the seller?

Have you contacted the seller? I say contact the seller first. If it's listed as in new condition you may be able to do a claim as that is not like new, but the sellers are normally willing to work with you to avoid that if they have an established account. A claim can make their fees go up. Just be polite when you contact them. If you do a claim you'll have to return it, so is it worth keeping to you for sentimental reasons? I 'd likely keep it if the price was good enough.

You can file a claim becaus it's listed as brand new, in perfect condition. Flaws have to be stated in the listing. I Don't want to file a claim but the seller has been let's say less than helpful. I'm giving it more time to a conclusion and to decide what I want to do.

Update: The seller and I agreed to a small partial refund which will cover the cost of the custom one.

I am new to the Disney Doll collecting scene some have a question. Are these designer dolls easier to get than the LE 17inch dolls? I really want to get The Rapunzel and Morher Gothel set and the Elsa and Hans set. Is the rush as crazy for these? I remember last year being able to walk into the Disney store and find the Cinderella, Mulan, Pocahontas, and Taina designer doll sets fairly easy

It really depends on a number of factors like demand for character, location, etc... Also the later the set the more crowds grow (at least at my store)...

it's a raffle so everyone has an equal chance, and your characters are pretty popular so I wouldn't reccommend coming later after the raffle unless you have no other option...

Ive never done the raffle in store I've always bought from online so I don't have much experience with that...

Depends where you live though as in the UK we don't have a raffle its first come first served. I wish we did have a raffle as I'm finding it difficult to know how early I need to be at my store on the 3rd November. From my experience starting out in 2011 with the Designer Dolls they aren't as popular as the 17" ones but you just need to be prepared because doll collecting on the whole has become more popular.

It's a raffle at my store. They start having you fill out tickets at 12 noon and stop all new entries after 1pm. Then, at 1:15pm, they start drawing names. At that point, it's only 1 doll per person, so if you're looking for more than 1 doll, then you need to have other people with you. In practice, it's just a good idea to go with a group anyway, even if you're only interested in 1 doll. The more names you have in the pool, the bigger the chance that you'll be called.

Thanks for all the help guys. I am unable to be at the stores for the doll designer doll releases so it looks like I try my luck online. I am in the Boston Area so I assume they are online at 3 am like the Live action Cinderella 17" doll was

Slightly off topic but I would really appreciate some insights from fellow collectors.. So I recently thought I scored a pretty good deal on DFDC Belle/Beast for $255 plus shipping but upon receiving, I noticed the doll was actually a display sample and does not come with CoA. I had intended on returning the doll but the seller has offered a partial refund of $150 - do you think that's a good deal or how much would you pay for a display sample? The slip cover color is fading slightly, the back cardboard is a little worn and Belle has a slit in her eyebrow but in general it looks to be in an acceptable condition.

I think it depends. For me personally I kind of prefer dolls with a certificate, but I wouldn't mind having a display doll. I guess it's more on preference.

Sigh. I hate asking this question, because I feel like I should know the answer, but I'm not sure...

The set pre-order for the 14th is a Monday. Pins are usually released on Sunday night (going into Monday morning) at 3 AM EST, and dolls are usually released on Tuesday night (going into Wednesday) at 3 AM EST. Since this is a Monday release, does that mean it's actually Sunday late night at 3 AM, or is it MONDAY late night at 3 AM, going into Tuesday? I'm a little thrown since they usually do pins, too...even if we have no idea if they set any aside for online release.

I would normally just stay up for both, but work is trying to stick me with overnight to do a section overhaul, so I might have to go in, and I want to pick the correct day to beg off (or at least time my break well ^-^).

Oh really?? Is DL 60th Aurora online? I know I've heard she's still floating around the parks...

I haven't seen DL 60th Aurora online, but since it's been 30 days, you should be able to call Disneyland Merchandising and see if they will ship her to you! :)

Sunday night going into Monday. It will be released at 3AM Monday morning.

I have a vague recollection that the first pre-order set of dolls (for DFDC #1) was also a Sunday-Monday night event. I remember logging on and not being able to put it into my cart. Luckily, I sent sis to a friend's house and she was able to get the set online :)

From what I remember, all the designer doll pre-orders have been on a sunday into Monday night. It's only the 17" dolls and individual designer dolls/sets (Ariel/Eric, Belle/Beast, etc) that have been tuesday night into weds.

Hey everyone! The link to the pre-order for the entire set now says sold out. And the wording at the top was slightly changed to say, "Available for Pre-Order at the D23 Expo 2015," without mentioning any other release dates. http://www.disneystore.com/disney-fairytale-designer-collection-doll-set/mp/1380730/11762/

I know people who were at D23 said there were plenty of the sets left...so what's going on?

I believe the pre-order is on Sept 14th. The link was probably made available early for those who couldn't attend D23 to view higher-res photos but the actual pre-order won't happen until the 14th.
