Who else out there is having this problem? I am trying to put together a nice gift for my person, but they are not that active here on the forum and they do not have that many items in there want area. I went to wdw this weekend looked in all the shops went to the outlit and nothing. Getting stressed out because date is getting closer...

I know that you want to give a nice gift but if they haven't given you enough info the you can only do what what you can do. Possibly find some nice pins that they can use as traders, perhaps a lanyard, some candy, and a nice card. I saw someone received a mailing kit (envelopes, bubble wrap, etc) in their batch of goodies. I think this is an awesome idea!

I am in the same boat, mine has no posts, and no pins in there pin pics. I just put together some pins, I thought were cute. I would have spoiled them more, if they were more active and more serious of a collector. It is the thought that counts, so don't stress about it.

+1 Dawn!!I agree with you

And if you feel comfortable sending your SS info to me I can always help out here

I was really hoping that DPF's second email about Secret Santas (that sent people two links - one for if you didn't get your pairing and the second for my thread about introducing yourselves) would get more people to introduce themselves, including those whose family members signed them up!

I'm frustrated as I sent a really nice gifts to a newbie that had a grand total of 2 posts . I sent two pins, (one being a DLPR LE pin) an ornament and candy. I also sent a card and asked that he at least post. He has had it since Friday and NOTHING. It's really disheartening as I hope they didn't join just to get free stuff and we never hear from them again.
I really went above the cost to make a nice package and not as much as a Thank You .
Next year I will not be joining in. I was thinking the exchange would be paired with members that have been on the forum for a while . West to East , North to South, over the pond. I would have gladly sent to the UK.

Next year there defiantly needs to be stricter posting / age limits. :(

I'm sorry for all of you who have gotten someone not as active as you would like.

I know it is hard I wasn't very prepared and didn't get to package well and do more how I wanted but I did send a few pins I thought my person may like, if not trade out. I think we don't want our ss to trade out our gift to them but if they didn't give you much to go off give them little thoughtful things they could and wouldn't hurt you & candy is always a good thought as well.

I never received a second email for what it's worth. I guess it's possible it got sent to spam, but I check that so rarely.

Maybe they are waiting until Christmas to open their gift. I would not get too upset until after Christmas. It sounds like you did a nice job and maybe next year there will be new rules, where the person has to have a certain number of posts to participate, like they have when they do contests.

Wow! Here's a cut & paste from the second email I got (when I first saw it, I thought, a duplicate email?) - titled "DPF Secret Santa Pairings!"

Hey there, DPF'ers!

Our elves have been hard at work getting our over 250
pairings out for our Secret Santa program this year and they've finally made it
to the finish line!

If you haven't received your pairing information
yet, please check your spam folders first. If you STILL haven't received your
partner, post in this thread: http://disneypinforum.com/showthrea...-Post-here-if-you-have-not-yet-received-yours

It
seems like a lot of our new members and participants this year are having
trouble finding good gifts for their elves! If you don't post much, please
introduce yourself or tell everyone a little about what you like so that your
Secret Santa can put together a nice package for you! See the thread here: http://disneypinforum.com/showthrea...ta-Givers-and-Recipients-Introduce-yourselves!

I
promise we don't bite!

Happy Holidays and Happy Posting!

I totally agree with the posting minimums and having parameters on the game... but we need to remember its still a "participate at your own risk" too. I am certainly not trying to be Debbie Downer, but if we choose to go over the $$ limit or send more than we were "limited" to, then that is on us. I always tend to go over the limit, lol, but enjoy doing so.

I can definitely understand the frustration on their SS only having a couple of posts. My friend received one of those and there were 3 of us that put our pinpics id's together to see if possibly could help find something on the wants list and zippo. lol. Just have to pick the best you can and hope for the best.

We are all pin people, ANY LBE that shows up in the mailbox is AMAZING! :)

That is actually the reason I didn't join in! I didn't want to be paired with someone I knew nothing about and disappoint them :( To me, gift giving is especially marvelous when you know the person's interests and can surprise them or make them happy with something delightful! :D I think the participants should at least have to list favorite characters and such before being able to participate. That way it is a stress-free, happy environment for everyone! <3

I wouldnt worry much. My person got the package too, but after inquiry it turns out they just were not near a computer til this week after they recieved it. It's the holidays, people might be out of town.

Well I got an email saying something about Secret Santa. I didn't read much into it but I have no intention in participating in a Secret Santa.
