I'm looking for a way to store my pins, I'd love a bag or book but can't find one anywhere online :(

So I am thinking of other ideas, I saw some people show them on cork boards.

Please tell me some other ways :hsd:

I purchased a bag on ebay. There's some none-official ones you can get for about $15 shipped, and they do a good job. Then there's the official ones which hold a lot more, and they can get a little pricer.

Then again, there's also baseball card sleeves and a binder. Lots of people use those

I use a bag if I'm going OUT but otherwise I just bought large cork boards for mine and my grandmothers pins. You can get a 17 x 24 or so board at walmart for about 6$ or less!

I have them all on foam boards. They are a pain to move though! When we moved into our house last year people were finding pins everywhere! One was even stuck in someone's shoe! So foam boards...good for display, bad for moving!

Lots of great ideas! I have pin bags, folders, boxes, tubs, binders, etc., etc., etc. lol! For trading my favorite way of storing is to use baseball-card plastic sleeves and then keep them in a zip-up bag or binder or in sturdy plastic tubs! Also, just a quick tip that was given to me many years ago ... when using plastic sleeves or pages/cards for your pins and then putting them in your binder/bag/plastic tubs, do it so the pin backs face each other ... takes up less room and easier on your pins! For example for each two pages you have the "pin back" side of the pages face each other ... x|o o|x ... the "x" is the pin face and the "o" is the pin back. (That means that the actual pins face each other too.) Hope this makes sense ... it really works and gives you more room in your pin binder/bag! Take care, *bjr

We have our collection of pins in pin books, and we also use binders / folders with those basketball / baseball sleeves, too. Another good idea is to use shadow boxes. Those are a lot of fun! I have a few in shadow boxes, and they look awesome. I find that using cork boards is a hassle.. the reason as to why I do is because, I wouldn't want to dust those pins every week.. or day. I find that dust can ruin pins, and I wouldn't want to have a few of my favorite pins ruined because of dust! In my opinion, using pin books, binders / folders, and shadow boxes is the best way to go. Plus, they're easier to keep pins safe.

If your not displaying a huge collection, I use a spoon rack with a wonderful glass & wood closing door. I bought it at Michael's art stores and just removed the spoon rack leaving a nice wall of black velvet-like material to post the pins in! I have a few other antique curio cabinets as well that I've picked up over the years that make nice display units. Otherwise pins I don't care about displaying, I just keep in several Haunted Mansion themed bags. I put all of my pins on cork boards...I used to have super large boards, but they weren't that attractive so I have started to switch pins over to these prettier gold-framed boards I found at HomeGoods. I still want to frame many of my completed sets and some of the more valuable pins, but I don't want to start that project until I know exactly what I want to do and where I want to put them. :)

And because I have accumulated so many pins I now have a ton of cards, baggies, and packaging as well. I used to have it all in one large box, but when I would go to find a certain backer card, etc. it would take forever to find...so I have started using SnapWare storage containers and separate them by character. I may have to categorize them even more though...right now I have just a "Princess bags" section...but I now have so many Princess pins I might have to get more containers and separate them by each individual Princess...LOL.

What a good way to store the pins! ^_^ Mine are on a rather ugly board right now, i may have to take some tips from you! :)

p.s. I think my heart skipped a beat when I saw you have the full Designer set... so jealous, I hope you enjoy them! :)

Right now in 3 bags and 11 bubble-wrapped and shrink-wrapped cork boards...

Sadly everything is in pseudo storage for a couple months till I move again but I loved having them on display (makes it worth the $$ spent!)

You can find a large bag on eBay for a nice price! I don't suggest cork boards because they start to crumble after a while.
