You accept a trade, go through with the transaction, receive each others' pins. You leave reference for that person. You ask for that person to leave reference for you POLITELY as possible but they won't. I've asked these traders to leave reference for me as nicely, politely, whatever, yadda a couple of times. I've done nothing wrong to them. If something DID go wrong I would automagically offer to replace whatever pin(s) for whatever reason they didn't approve of. Honestly, I don't understand people sometimes. What goes through their minds? I would have at least 10+ MORE references on here if people would cooperate the right way. The only thing I ask for is to leave SOME kind of reference whether it be through Dizpins.com or here on the iTrader. Most of my references are on the Dizpins/rnr site. I know I may be going overboard right now but I'm having a bad night tonight... not just because of the reference stuff, some other personal things are off for me as well.

Here's another topic - I don't get why SOME (keyword 'some') people knowingly send scrappers when they know they're just going to have to spend the extra cash to send back their pin(s) and so on. Two trades were set up with me, both of the users had decent/good references, one was for a single trade and the other was a 10 pin trade, anyways, the first trade was bogus because the pin was a scrapper. I received their pin, left reference. Noticed it was a scrapper so I contacted the user and politely explained how it was a scrapper. The user angrily writes back, telling me to send their pin back so I did. They received, of course. I asked if they could at LEAST leave a reference for me considering they received the package, but of course, I get no flippin' answer. Nothing whatsoever. The second trade, the 10 pin one... it's basically the same exact thing as the first one except ALL of the pins are scrappers. Every single pin I send out is 100% authentic, guaranteed. Needless to say, I NEVER received a word back, no reference, no nothing. I mean, come on, what kind of person does this? I sometimes can't stomach this. I'm heartbroken. </3

I'm just ranting. I needed to get this off of my chest. It's been on my mind since I started online trading a few months back. I'm not looking to start a fight or anything so please don't get offended whatsoever. None of these people are on here that I know of. Nor will I be publicly giving out their info, etc.
 
I am quite the newb when it comes to pin trades over the mail, but the experiences I have had have luckily have all been pleasant. I can only imagine your frustration though. I would be super upset if someone purposely sent scrappers when they got real, genuine pins from me. I can't even imagine doing such a thing to somebody. As far as references go I did not know much about them till right before my pin trading hiatus and sadly only have 2 to my name :(. Luckily I have some pending pin trades and can't wait to receive/give some. I really don't get what would be so hard about taking less than 5 minutes of someones day to do so. I wish you many, many pin references! :P

They would reply but wouldn't leave feedback whatsoever. I just don't get it. It's a big deal but it isn't at the same time because I'm trying to make my trading reference portfolio bigger to become a trusted online trader.

Well, the thing is... I would explain to them what a reference/feedback is and how to leave one for someone before and after the trade. It just frustrates me because I would totally go out of my way for each and every one of these traders, etc and I would end up with scrappers and no references.

YES it does bother me as I did my side of the trade or sale./that way I know the transaction on my end was completed
and I do the same when everything is recieved!thats always the way I have been for 10 + years trading/buying
 
what? again, here comes the fact of people not being responsible. if a trade goes well it is the traders duty(in my personally opinion) to give reference, specially when the other side it is politely asking. i am so sorry this happens to you. just keep in mind that trader and u can choose not to trade with them again because of this, now don't go and put him/her in to what some people call "the list" which stands for a list of people u'll never trade with since i find this stupid and immature, just think it twice when trading with this trader. also patience is a key sometimes, i know how you feel, i been in your place(actually not too long ago) where i wanted reference ASAP to be a trusted trader, and well look at me now, i just now hit the 100 trades online here in the DPF, but it too me patience.

also, not to defend anybody, but some people gets busy and don't leave reference, and sometimes they do it but a few weeks after the trade when they are going through their inbox clearing up their messages and sees the message about leaving reference. :)

give it a bit of time, if we ever trade here, i will gladly leave you positive feedback here and also reference on pinpics. :)

The same thing has been happening to me. The trader keeps saying they are going to leave a reference on Dizpins and does not do it. They say they are not able to leave a reference there because the site is experiencing issues. OK, I get it, but then I am able to leave several others a reference and tell them site is working, and still no reference from them. So I totally understand your frustration.

People are just inconsiderate, and do not realize that leaving a reference is part of completing a trade for many.

I have all of my references on Dizpins, and only a few here, because this is a new forum. It is important for me to look up traders I do not know on Dizpins before trading with them. So I assume that traders that have a lot of references there can be trusted. I also assume that traders from DPF can be trusted. Obviously, there is no way to know who will be a responsible trader until you trade with them. Several traders from this very forum have not left me a reference after successful trades, and they are the ones that post how they do everything correctly when it comes to a trade. So this whole experience is extremely frustrating. Unfortunately, you are doing all you can. They are the ones not doing their part.
 
I agree, although sometimes I have to be reminded. Only nice though because I am a bit scatter brained, anyone will agree to this. Lol

Anyway, it is important to leave feedback!!!!!!!

It is WRONG on so many levels to trade with scrappers!!!! I don't know how many I have, just from trading!

There are times, at the park or a trade event, where I have to ask someone if certain pins are scrappers. But if there is ANY doubt in my mind, I ask the person to review photo's if by mail or review the pin in person.

It's that simple!

Yeah, it happens. It is especially frustrating when you are new and trying to build feedback. When I started out I had to send several reminder e-mails, and even then it did not happen at times.

But I agree with Simbanino, give people time. Sometimes I accumulate 5-6 trades and then leave fb for everyone all at once. Especially on dizpins, this saves time.

Another thing that happened to me is this: My dizpins reference addy ends with .net, but a lot of people had not paid attention to it and left me references under .com extension. I discovered that much later and was happily surprised. And only last week, I also discovered that there are 4 references under a typo fb (from different people too, can't believe how different people made the same mistake with my e-mail) and some more references under my Paypal addy I used for purchases.

Unfortunately, there is no 100% fool proof way to avoid scrappers. Even Pinpics is not complete on those I think. I usually check Ebay and if I see the same pin starting at 99c from many different sellers, this gives me a clue. Also, there are Ebay sellers I know who sell a lot of scrappers, I keep away from the pins they are offering.

Just keep on trading and fb will surely come, maybe not from everyone, but from many of us here :)
 
I try to be pretty meticulous about leaving at least Ref Center feedback for everyone I trade with. It's just part of my process in accounting for received trades. But at the same time, I realize that some people may be new / busy / suddenly stricken with life issues / just not inclined to participate, and I don't let it get to me. I've been trading since last December, and I've got 80 refs on the Ref Center plus a fair number here. Whether everybody leaves a ref or not, in time, your refs will accrue.

My advice would just to be patient and not get bent out of shape over it. I mean, honestly, once you have 10-15 refs under your belt you're pretty much good to go anyways. There's no "whoever has the least refs has to send first" rule like there are in other online trading hobbies, so refs don't mean as much as they might in other scenarios.

Oh I definitely understand that people get busy, etc, etc but it's been well over a month. I'm sure they would've checked their mail by then.

Yes, this is exactly what I get! I just don't understand it sometimes. :s It's like they don't want us to be successful, trustworthy online traders. LOL.

Haha Vicki, I can't tell you how much I've lost from those scrappers. :( It breaks my heart. </3

The last person whom I requested pictures from never even replied to my message! Maybe the person knew it was a scrapper. o.o

Oh definitely. I guess I'm going to have to stick with trading with people only from here from now on. :s
I wish there was a way to convert the feedback from Dizpins onto here!

I was only venting. ;P Just releasing my thoughts and what not. I mean I've got a measly 17 built up between here and Dizpins which is okay, I guess.
It's just I've been patient since I started trading and eh, I just wanted to vent. ;p I'm not expecting to get any kind of feedback from anyone of them anyways.
