I was adding some pins to my collection on pin pics and I noticed something when I added this pin:

I traded for this pin a few months ago from a cast board in Disneyland and this is my pin:

This is the description of the scrapper version

I think the color is off on mine, although it's kind of difficult to tell for sure. The colors seem more vibrant on mine, and I'm pretty sure the feather is not completely cut off, however the pin logo on the bottom appears to have the sharp points.

Would this be considered a scrapper?

Yeah, kind of beating myself up for not noticing it sooner! Oh well, I wasn't planning on trading it, so not too big of a bummer?

Nope, not too much of a bummer. Just hold onto them. Eventually, you may amass a collection of scrappers. There are a few people here looking for scrappers for art projects (my sister included). Just keep your chin up and look at the pins carefully!

yeh you can see the color is off. bummer
i just BOUGHT a scrapper from mydpins...it was only $4 but still. i am gonna email them and when and if i am back in anehiem (keep fingers crossed) i shall return it! Its always sad when you find one...i have a few from my early days./...and they are sttill in my collection because som are so good you only know by mis spelling on the back!

I went to go double check all of the pins I've traded for with CMs in the past, and I was extremely disappointed to find that at least eight of them were, more than likely, scrappers. There were more than a few that I really loved, so I'm probably not lying when I say I'm pretty bummed. The majority I traded for a long while ago before I would have known what a scrapper was and how to look for it. Well, guess you could say I know much better now! Though, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with them now, ack.

Hold onto them til you get the real ones?!

Just an FYI - Josh the owner of Mydpins is a DPF member. His DPF name, appropriately enough, is "Mydpins". You can look him up on the Itrader page, I am sure that you could just send him a PM. He is very good at vetting his pins to not sell anything fake. Probably one from a collection he bought that just slipped through the cracks.

Dawny, next time you're in town, we'll gladly refund you. That's not a problem at all. With all the pins we get in, I do personally inspect every single one, but sometimes one falls through the cracks. If you'd like to send me a picture of which pin you purchased, I'll gladly send you a replacement if it comes through my store again. Let me know. --Josh

I just got this pin from my family for Christmas. They attempted to get me pins for Christmas, which was very kind of them. Unfortunately they must have bought a cheap-o lot from eBay, and only about 5 of the 30 pins I deem as real. Almost all of them are scrappers! Ironically I got this pin, after just seeing your post! Mine has neon-rosy cheeks too!

Scrappers are such bummers! I'm starting to detest them!
