I don't find it weird or creepy. I just find it incredibly ugly. I think Dopey is one of the most ugly and unappealing Disney characters ever made. Lol, and I know that there will be a lot of people upset by that, but it's just my opinion. I'm sure there's people who don't like some of my fave characters.

As for the Dopey pin, it's not very good looking, IMO...but it just makes me think of the scene in the movie.

I just realized while reading this post that in this generation with the polictically/socially correct activist in our society, there would probably be no dwarf named "Dopey" allowed. I wonder what his name would be if he were just starting today?...maybe Bubba, Bub, Brother, MC or something else a little less degrading than being called Dopey - especially with him being mentally challenged and mute (not sure if he's deaf or not). I'm kind of surprised that no one has ever protested (that I'm aware of) the use of this name in describing his mentally challenged condition though.
