I received a 3 thousand dollar bill in the mail today from my surgery in January that WAS NOT EXPECTED.

I need to talk to my husband about how we are going to handle this...but I feel like it might come down to selling some of my higher dollar pins....I have almost 60 PODM's all with various degrees of scenes (Like I have a Snow White with Snow and a dwarf, but I have a SATS with JUST a dead tree in the scene...) If I took the time to take pictures of ALL of these pins, it would take F...o...R...e....V....E.....r.

If you would be interested in purchasing any of the pins I have on my pinpics account...or a PODM please send me an EMAIL to staceymarietucker@hotmail.com with an offer. I wouldn't be against making a "deal" for an entire set of PODM's (<-----all 24)

When I first read that you received a 3 thousand dollar bill in the mail I was excited for you. I read it as a 3 thousand dollar bill - like a 5 dollar bill. (Do they even make those? 3 thousand dollar bills? Nope, they don't. :nono: What a morning I'm having.:rolleyes:) I'm really bummed that it's the other, no fun kind. So sorry. Hopefully you will be able to make ends meet without too much stress. :)

Bahahahahahahahahaha! Well, if I received a 3 thousand dollar BILL in the mail that was legit....I would be posting a MUCH different post! Pins for everyone! LOL!
 
Was this part of the deductible? Or something extra? Talk to the hospital, make sure they billed insurance for everything. Talk to the insurance company, make sure they paid everything.

When mom had her heart attack (insured at the time), we got a $250,000 hospital bill for surgery and for staying in the hospital to recover (because the HMO denied the claim). And it was like, WTF?! We got insurance (with a small deductible at the time since dad was employed then). She wasn't able to stay at the HMO hospital (they were full up) and the HMO hospital sent her to a partner hospital. After a few months of sorting everything out, all of it was covered, except for the co-pays which had already been paid upon checking out of the hospital.

Sis was writing letters up the yin-yang, making sure everything got sorted out.

awe. well i need 2 PODM to complete the set

snow white and cindy and IDK what the scenes are....but you think on it and let me know if you wanna sell. You have such a nice collection but if you have doubles on them, then maybe i wont feel so bad.
 
We have a high deductible and we had to pay a lot BEFORE the surgery even took place...so that's why this is kinda a shock. See...my hubby WORKS for the hospital and the insurance is SUPPOSED to cover it....but apparently in a world where something like having both your boobs cut off is considered an "outpatient" procedure....apparently a recotcele AND hysterectomy at the same time isn't a good enough reason for an overnight stay, even though my doctor ordered it...(not to mention the areas that has sutures were very vascular and the rick of bleeding was SUPER DUPER HIGH...) but the paper pushers in the insurance industry apparently know more then the doctor responsible for my care. Bunch-a BASTARDS. My husband is going to take it to the administration, since it is the hospitals insurance we had a pre-auth for everything. Such a pain in the A$$.

I thought the same. I am so sorry sweetie that you received such a high bill and have to perhaps part with your pins. Hugs
 
I'm sorry to hear this Stacey :hug: what an awful thing, I too read it firstly as you receiving money.....oooops, I hope you get it all sorted, and don't have to part with your wonderful collection xxxx
