Limited Edition 17" Collector Dolls Information
That's a fair point but like I mentioned earlier it is company policy that they cannot change the delivery address or let you pick up a package unless they attempt to deliver first so it really is silly.

I know at the end of the day everyone's experiences with UPS will be different but for so many people to have had problems with them compared to those that have not means that there is something wrong. Even if it comes down to who they contract to do deliveries they are still responsible as they are the ones that hire them. They way I see it is like an aviation company you have your high quality ones that can be quite expensive but generally run on time and have few to little delays and have great customer service. Then you have your cheaper ones that are either always late, always delayed and not the friendliest when it comes to customer service. This is sorta where I see UPS, yes it comes down to the the person delivering but at the end of the day the employees represent the company and it is up to the company to determine how they want the public to percieve them.

Whenever I have been angry or disappointed about a delivery it has always been UPS. I have had just about every negative experience happen. Plus they do not deliver on Saturday. I wish Disney would use another carrier.

Has anyone from the UK that ordered ariel or Ursula online had them dispatched? Thought it would've happened by now.

I received mine yesterday but paid for express delivery....I dont know anyone whos gone by standard shipping thats got a dispatch note yet so you should be ok, they usually dispatch by the friday so you will probably get it this evening Dont panic!

I think the biggest issue here is that if a good number of people are receiving damaged dolls than Disney needs to make sure they keep some inventory for replacements. Than maybe what hasn't sold or been exchanged can be sold at a later time. I know they do replace some peoples dolls when damaged, but I've heard of them outright refuse others and saying there was no replacements available.

I would say the company used to deliver is definitely responsible for the majority of the problem. I went and picked my dolls up in person and even at the store there were dolls with beating up boxes, clearly from shipment, that CMs tried to pawn off on customers. I had to ask to change my dolls twice because the first ones they gave me were really damaged.

Once I went to The Disney Store before it opened and I was the first one there. I've always wanted to open the store. Then like a minute before, an old mean looking lady came in an and did it instead. The employee was going to let me do it first until she started saying that she was the first to come and that she should do it. I always thought that kids should come first. xD I was a little sad until I got Snow White and the Prince. I can't stop admiring it.

When I recieved my Ariel last Monday the box had a huge dent in the side of it. My husband took one look at it and said "something sharp and heavy fell on that". He works moving around heavy boxes and the like, and he speculated that a large and heavy box had fallen corner down onto my Ariel. He sees similar damage all the time. The only thing that saved her box was the fact that it fell on to the side where the plastic was able to give and not cause much damage to her packaging. I am, however, lucky that the offending box didn't damage the actual doll inside. :/. There is much that both ups and the disney store could do to help prevent things like this from occurring.

I'm worried now...I ordered my Ariel on Tuesday but I've received nothing apart from 'Thank You For Your Order' and not only that, this order or previous order don't show up in my order history.

WOOT WOOT!! Doesn't it feel like a huge weight off your shoulders and sigh of relief!?

I have a tracking number but it still says that the Ursula do is waiting for be dropped off to the UPS facility. So the tracking number has been printed but the items haven't been delivered to UPS for delivery. This is making me worry now. This happened to me last year with designer Maleficent wherein they printed the label but failed to attach it onto any of the dolls, Disney being Disney wouldn't let me do anything until a week after it was "shipped" so luckily at this point she was still in stock so they just had to put the order through again.

this is why I have been asking if anyone else has the same situation with their Ursula's? Where she has a tracking number but where it still says shipping label printed and waiting on goods to arrive. That way I know that they have just printed the labels for a bunch if Ursula's, attached them and just haven't gotten around to delivering it to ups yet.

I have placed MANY orders with Disney Store over the past two weeks and they are ALL just like you describe! I have tracking numbers but it appears that they have yet to ship. I wouldn't worry too much. I think they are probably pretty slammed right now. )

Most likely they are slammed with orders. I don't know I've seen some UPS drivers really not careful with packages and literlly just through boxed over large 8 foot gates... However, I usually always am home when my driver comes so I thank him every time her delivers my boxes. He has even come to recognize me now. What I also find interesting is it seems that my packages are better taken care of. I'm not saying he doesn't take care of people's stuff but he might pay extra attention when he comes across my name. They do work really hard and sometimes they never get thanked for their services. So I wanted him to know I appreciate him delivering the packages.

My LE Ursula doll is in the same situation (tracking number generated but the only activity is that a shipping label has been created). My LE Prince Eric has shipped and the UPS website indicates a scheduled delivery date for him only.

Yes, with my Ursula as well. My Eric has shipped, but not her. Huh, I wonder what that's about.

I also thank my local UPS delivery people upon delivery. I've had a mixed bag of experiences with UPS overall. When it is my regular delivery person, there are no problems at all.

On other occasions, I have had some shady business going on where it appears that they ran out of time to do all of their deliveries and then they claim that they attempted to make an initial attempt but no one was home for all of the parcels that they did not get to... BUT I was actually home the whole time (door open, lights on) and no one came to my door or dropped off a UPS InfoNotice slip. I was tracking the activity online in real time and immediately called UPS about it when I saw that. I then just had the package held at the nearest UPS facility and picked it up the next day, but I also reported the dishonesty of that particular delivery person. FYI, when I picked up the parcel, I saw that the UPS InfoNotice slip was attached to the package, totally proving that it was not left at my door. That is just messed up!

On the topic of damaged limited edition doll boxes, it comes down to two main reasons: 1) damage at the factory prior to the doll being put in its shipper box and 2) damage from handling after that. So far for me, any time I have received a damaged limited edition doll box it was always the factory's fault, because the doll display box would be banged up but the brown shipper box would be in pristine condition. If one does receive a damaged brown shipper box (from the delivery carrier), I would be mindful to see if there are any damages on the product in the same relative area as the damaged brown shipper box (as in Crimson Ribbon's case above) to see if the damages are directly related and then determine which party is truly at fault. The Disney Store factories actually have been releasing faulty goods, so you do want to investigate a little bit prior to filing a formal complaint in order to paint the proper picture of what probably happened to your item.

Side note: I have had many DS non-limited edition dolls shoved rather carelessly into the DS shipping boxes which caused the cellophane to bend and break, which is an obvious fault of whomever was actually packing the order. Luckily, the 17" LE dolls are not subject to that additional handling by the warehouse. The DS warehouse receives them the same way we do.

Do you think if only one doll was released on the day the shipping would be faster and more careful?

Well last time round when I ordered Jasmine & Aladdin I had an email on the Wednesday evening and a text from the delivery company on Thursday to say my doll would be with me on Monday. This time rounding ordered BATB, Ursula and Ariel but have had nothing so yes it was faster. Not so sure about more careful I think that's more to do with Disney and the packaging which we all know can be bit hit and miss.

I called Disney Store UK yesterday and they told me that my dolls would be shipped on friday or monday. They shipped Ariel today, but not Ursusla... (I didn't place them in the same order.)

I'm a little bit worried now... :ugh:

I havent received an email about my DFDC Belle that was placed on Tuesday. Sorry that some of you are getting damaged packages. That breaks my heart for you. Totally sucks.

I LOVE the idea of a rococo style doll. Those would be TDF. I love Marie Antoinette and collect MA stuff. Even have a half sleeve tattoo of her. So I would love to see my favorite Disney gals dressed like that. I have a Marie Antoinette Pullip that is so beautiful. She makes a beautiful doll style.

I noticed when my Ariel and Ursula dolls arrives, the numbers marked on the actual delivery cardboard boxes for Ariel was out of /1000 and Ursula /500 so Im guessing thats how many the UK online site had of each doll for sale.

Yup! That is the non-US allotment amount, so you get an extra "edition size" number.

I have two shipping e-mails, but when I select the tracking my Ursula says shipped expected delivery 4 days and my Eric says the same thing that your does. I wonder if at their warehouse they have a section where the prep packages to go out and other one where trucks are loaded. It could be that they just loaded the truck and once it was full the other dolls were slotted for pick up today. If something changes on my status I'll let you know.
